Seeing how a lot of mainstream consumers use the iPad this is what I see.
For a very large swath of people 64GB is plenty of storage for those using the iPad for consuming media. They do email, text, surf the net, Facebook and Youtube and play a few games. Many of them have been getting by with 32GB so a 64GB iPad is more than adequate for their needs.
For those who are packrats of innumerable photos there is the 256GB iPad. Otherwise they’re doing pretty much the same things as the first group who don’t bother with collecting countless photos.
I object to the price of an iPad Air with 64GB because for an extra $200 you should be getting more storage to go with the larger screen. It’s even more true when comparing the Air to the overpriced 10th gen iPad rather than the reasonably priced 9th gen.
A base of 256GB storage for the MacBook Air is rather absurd considering a lot of cheaper laptops can offer you 512GB to 1 TB.
