Still wondering if we get credit for the extra payments, especially on the Pro Max.

Anyone seeing verification failures from Verizon? I expect it’s everyone hitting it at the same time as the preapproval emails just came out...

ETA: Tried again and figured out I had to use the main number on the account, d’oh. It didn’t say that but it did say main number’s zip code. Sigh.
I’m more worried about having to do an extra payment next year if they go back to Oct.

Hmm on verizon. I had the same problem. But I’m worried it will think I’m upgrading the account phone. Although I guess maybe Verizon can straighten it out???

I ended up doing iUP without trade in, and locked in a quote for 391 (!) cash for my XS 256GB unlocked from decluttr. Interestingly after I got my quote I went back to the site and the quote estimate has dropped by $50. I guess I got in right in the knick of time?

So i entered in all my payment info and its all good. Got the email my pre approval is good. Does this mean the CC i put was approved? They checked if I have enough avail credit? Lol

I got hard pull, been in the program since it started, payment not going up. No debt ratio issues. Wonder if they do it every so many years. Seems like most of the folks getting hard pull have been in the program for years

I've had the program since day 1 and haven't been hard pulled since the beginning. There's gotta be some rational to it, but who knows what it is.

It's bundled into the price of the iPhone over 24 months. No way to avoid it in the iUP, closest is doing Apple Card installment financing over 24 months.
Before the Apple Card came out, you can also do a finance at 0% thru Citizen's One Loan for 24 months without AC+.

Before that, I used BarclayCard's Apple Rewards which sadly has gone away....

I just finished early payoff so that I can trade her in for the 12.

Anyone know if there’s a way to switch from at&t to verizon and enroll in apple‘s upgrade program at the same time? I’m switching this year but so far it seems like the only path i have is to buy the phone with verizon.

Yes they do, I had them do a hard pull on mine when I did it today.

Alright, here's my dilemma and it is strongly related to OP's question:

I am closing on a house on October 22nd. I do not want any more hard credit inquiries to pop up last minute and delay my closing. I am currently enrolled in iUP. Will they do a hard credit pull when I reserve the phone on the 16th, or when I perform the upgrade in-store on the 23rd? Or never? I do not believe that a hard pull was ever performed last year when I upgraded, but I'm looking for someone with a better memory than me.

unless your last payment period is near the renewal for the next phone and the return of phone your are upgrading from, the extra payment after 1 year mark won’t be refunded. I’d think it as my old phone looses value over time so I’m not too concerned about it

My next payment (same as most on the IUP) will go out of my account on the 22nd of October. So, if I upgrade to an iPhone 12 on the 23rd, will that payment then get refunded when I sign up for the new plan?

If you pre-order this friday, they typically will put a "Hold" on your citizen so they shouldn't charge you. If they did, they will typically refund you.

Thanks bud. I’m in the UK though, so hopefully the same here.

I returned the iPhone 12 pro to get the pro max and when trying the ore approval process this time I’m not getting past carrier verification. I just got the 12 pro and everything worked fine.

Yep. I know someone who has had this happen too. They just went with a sim-free iPhone and will add it to their account manually when they get it.

Interesting. I did my pre-approval yesterday (ended up waiting for the Pro Max) and I did not receive a hard inquiry. They love me over at Citizens..

I'm 99% sure that I haven't had a hard pull from Citizens since the very first year the iUP was introduced. I've been on it every year since the first year, and I watch my credit VERY closely.

Yeah, same here, I definitely haven't had a hard pull during subsequent upgrades. A lot of people were saying that they were getting upgrade pulls this year, though.

Actually, I don't believe I had a hard pull even upon initial sign-up. I have a Citizens checking account, so I wonder if that had anything to do with it.

No hard pull either. I’ve never nor been late on citizens loan. People can check pulls because if you have one credit reporting agency send you an alert. I didn’t get anything from Experian. I also logged on didn’t see any citizen inquiry. I’m good.
