Just when you think things couldn’t get weirder. I was looking at my metrics from this morning’s run when I noticed the current heart rate info looked odd. For some reason it was showing info generated from my H10 chest strap. Weird because I wasn’t wearing it, hadn’t been wearing it and it wasn’t paired to my AWU. Doing some research later and noticed it was still showing a connection even though it wasn’t on my chest or attached to the strap. I believe this is an H10 issue not a watch issue. Oh well, entertaining if nothing else.

Was the sensor detached from the belt? This is one drawback of the H10 in my opinion. Otherwise it connects with Bluetooth and drains battery.

I take mine off after every run, to wash and clean the belt - so it will never connect when off the belt? Great to know

Yes it was removed from the belt and yet was still showing connected. See last photo above. The only way to disconnect was to turn off Bluetooth on the watch. I have done the factory reset procedure from Polar.

I used my series 8 on yesterday’s run, no issues. Heart rate, flights climbed all read correctly and no dropped ear buds connection. Kinda sucks the so called “Ultra” model can’t accomplish these basic tasks.

All wrist based sensors suffer in the cold unfortunately. Gloves and long sleeves may help.
Garmin doesn’t. I gave up on apple due to the heart rate issue (missing heart rate or flatlining during activity) and have never had any issues since

Yes they do. Cold weather reduces the blood flow to extremities, such as the wrist.

This still happens even if you're using a Garmin watch.

EDIT: Here's a link from Garmin Support where they explicitly mention the issue:
