Apple Watch Ultra ordered thread!

My watch is in Louisville for delivery tomorrow. I also ordered two extra bands. UPS will leave an $850 watch at my door but wants a signature for a $99 band.

The UPS guy told me they would leave it at my door because they can't get 'direct signature' (Covid?) and it doesn't face the road. *shrug* But if someone is watching, they know he was here. Didn't make much sense. Found a 14PM at the front door last Friday. I'm glad we got it, and we just missed him, but still. Weird...

I saw this thread, and added that the screen is 23 square millimeters larger, with double the contrast. I think outdoors the difference will even be more apparent. Back to the AWU👍🍺 tomorrow is the day my friend 😉👏👌

I think the 2000 (!!!!!) nit brightness is probably underestimated so far. Same with the 14 Pro/PM. I am still doing double-takes with the phone. A few of the "reviews" have noted that also. Might be interesting to see how hard 2000 nits hits the battery.

I have almost the exact same sequence. Off by a couple mins on some of the scans. Mine was originally to deliver 9/29 - 10/3. Feels like it might arrive earlier next week now.

At least with the Ultra, if you have to run thru puddles, you can check your depth.

Anything that Apple sells that originates in the US, UPS asks for a signature, but not for one from overseas. Same thing with my M2 Macbook Air, $2,000 laptop at my door, sign for an extra power cable ordered separately. I don't think they'll really be looking for the signature, but it's the silliness of it.

The stuff I ordered from apple in the last few years UPS has just left at the front door. Sometimes they don’t even ring the doorbell lol my camera system picks them up and we come out and get the packages though.

All of my high dollar Apple and Verizon purchases have required a signature when UPS and Fedex deliver.

Ahh! that's interesting. What's the best way to update the Apple Watch Ultra? Set up as new and apply the update right away.

There’s hope for people who ordered their watch later. I had originally ordered a series 8 but cancelled it in favor of the Ultra. That was on the 10th. I had an arrival estimate of Oct 18th and mine just shipped. Expected delivery (express) on the 26th. Starlight Alpine loop size small.

I think it depends on if UPS or FedEx. I rushed home because I got an Out for Delivery notice from UPS but the shipping still showed “AI” so I was not sure if it was my Ultra or not.

I did not make it in time but UPS left the box on my front porch unsigned for. However, it was not my Ultra. It was my wife’s iPhone 14 PM. It came 6 days early. It was expected on the 28th but showed in UPS MyChoice as “AI” for delivery Monday. But it came today.

I looked again and now MyChoice shows the other “AI” for delivery tomorrow so that should be my Ultra. But luckily I get to WFH tomorrow so if signature is needed I will be here.
