I would never use a knockoff band on at £850 watch. If that band gets jammed and can’t be removed, I don’t think Apple would cover it under the warranty as cheap knock off bands are not apple approved
Well, there's another good point. I'm conservative that way too regarding using OEM bands on such an expensive watch, but I hadn't thought of your point -- a valid one.

Yes, I think primarily because the Ultra is so expensive that using non-OEM bands just doesn't jive with me. But, to each their own!

Thanks for the heads up with the Trail Loop being available at Verizon. Got an order in that should be here before my Amazon order which has made no progress from when I ordered it in September.

Verizon came through! I just received my S/M black/grey trail loop! Fits perfect. I have a 165mm wrist and I don't have any issues putting the watch on with the band. The orange pull tab also lines up with where I want it. While I love my alpine and ocean bands, I can't believe how comfortable this band is!

Very nice! I have the Ocean band and Alpine loop (no trail loop though) and I like both. I think the Ocean band looks nicer than the Alpine loop, but is less comfortable. I can imagine the Trail loop may be the most comfortable, but I couldn't get myself to buy it. It looks basically like the Sports loop with the exception that it has a tab. The Sports loop, which I do own, is indeed comfortable and very easy to take on and off, but it looks a bit cheap to me (basically a velcro strap which reminds me of child's toy). Not trying to rain on your parade. I'm glad you like the Trail loop!

Just wanted to share a picture of the M/L Trail Loop on my 165mm wrists.

Wait...do my eyes deceive me? Is the seam stitching for the band showing rather than located on the underside? I'm looking at what looks to be the seam stitching right below the lugs.

While I don't have the Trail loop, I do own a Sports loop for when I had the S4 Watch. I'm going to look at it again when I return home, but I don't recall the Sports loop having the seams showing like that and rather I think they were located on the underside hidden from view.

Yeah it shows. Here is a picture of the top/bottom of the stitched area. More pronounced on the grey/blue than the black/grey.

Oh interesting! The Sports loop I have is mostly black (well, with some mottled thread colors of dark purple and whatnot) so I don't think the seams show. But I'll look when I get home. I'm going to look at my green Alpine loop too to see if stitching like that shows.

Thanks for posting new pictures!

Thanks! Do you mind posting a picture of the underside of your wrist/arm so I can see where the loop attaches? I have 172mm wrist..just trying to avoid having it look too short with the s/m, or too big with the m/L. Thanks!
Which one did you order 😀?

The trail loop is actually a little wider than the sport loop. It is the same width as the alpine loop. Between that, the softer material, and the titanium lugs, I think the trail loop looks a little better in general. And in person, it looks better on the Ultra than the sport loop. Is it worth an extra $50, or paying $99 if you own a sport loop already? Debatable. That being said, I am happy with the purchase and will likely order a second in the grey/blue color.

24 hrs old & absolutely love my Ultra & Trail Loop band. Not as big as I thought it would be & no weight at all. Coming from a series 7. Love the trail loop, so comfortable & soft. No problem sleeping in.
Looks awesome! Which band size? How much mm is your wrist circumference in mm? Thanks

I suppose if I could be certain that the non-OEM band will not fall apart suddenly and that its lugs do not interact with the watch in a way that wears out the watch, I would be ok. I'm concerned about an inexpensive band suddenly giving way and its metal lugs interacting with the Watch slot in such a way that it weakens the material or some such.

I do agree though that $100 for the Ultra bands are really rather expensive. I have a feeling that the bands for the Ultra are priced at $100 rather than say $49 simply because Ultra is considered a premium product. There's nothing much about the Ultra bands that makes them that much more expensive, if at all, than the regular OEM bands

I do agree with you on both counts. That’s my reasoning as well on both points.

The quality of the material on the Trailer Loop is much better than that of the Sport Loop in my opinion. Also the Velcro is much stronger too. Plus they have Titanium lugs which better match with the Watch.

I checked my own Sports loop and it doesn’t have any stitching. It’s constructed differently. It has one lug in which the band loops through just like the Trail loop does. But for the other lug it looks like it sandwiches the band whereas in the Trail loop, the band again loops through the lug which therefore requires stitching.

There are advantages and disadvantages to either design.

For the sports loop, the advantage is no stitching; disadvantage, which I never noticed until now, is that the lugs do not match (one lug has a loop, the other doesn’t; it isn’t noticeable on my black S4 but it’s very noticeable on the titanium Ultra).

For the Trail loop, advantage is both lugs match (they have loops). Disadvantage is one side of the band has stitching, but this wouldn’t be a disadvantage if the stitching were on the underside, I guess. Why did Apple have it sewn with the stitching visible? Doesn’t look as nice.

Yeah the Velcro on my Sports loop isn’t too strong. I don’t wear it with my Ultra as it’s too long actually.

At first I wanted ocean band with my ultra. Had a Nov ship date. Once I saw trail loop black/grey was faster to get I went with that. In honesty I believe the trail loop is the most comfortable/versatile band. Not the best looking to many but who says the Ultra is meant to be worn as a jewelry statement? Been wearing apple sports midnight band for a week now. This weekend I'm going back to trail loop and gifting the sports band to my friend. I will wear trail loop until my titanium nomad band arrives. Might pick up a blue/gray trail loop from apple. Because of you guys posting pics with it on here I like that look too. Been enjoying leaving my phone at home/car when I take the kids for baseball practice. Ultra on my wrist via trail loop. With baseball glove on very comfortable. Good to know I'm still connected to the world via the watch. BTW watch still like new conditions. I don't baby it nor do I destroy it. No scuffs or scratches.
