I think the AWU1 is very tempting in that scenarioIn the UK the AWU 1 is now discounted down to £669 at most places and the AWU 2 is £799.
Would you still get the AWU 2 and at what price for the AWU 1 would that decision change?

I am still unwilling to upgrade from my S5. I am hoping for blood sugar measurement sensor to be included with Apple Watch X next year. Then I will go for it.With these incremental updates, how am I ever supposed to upgrade from my S6?..
Same here. I didn't trade in my S6 just in case.I have a small wrist, I hope to become used to the dimensions of this giant watch 😅
I know! And there have been some thermometer related rumors, and the hypochondriac would just love that!I am still unwilling to upgrade from my S5. I am hoping for blood sugar measurement sensor to be included with Apple Watch X next year. Then I will go for it.
IBIWISI. Siri has to get a LOT better to even be usable as far as I'm concerned, and we'll have to wait and see on that one. To get to Echo level is a heck of a long way away, and it's just barely useful.why is nobody talking about the best important feature which one should upgrade?
Siri processed on-device for requests that do not need information from the internet, resulting in quicker and more reliable responses!!!

The rumor about using 3D printing on some of the parts? Anyway, all I can find is that the dimensions and weight are identical.Just came from the Apple Store and a staff member manning the Watch table insisted that the Ultra 2 is slightly slimmer and lighter than the original. I thought the case was the same, that this is an internal spec bump cycle and they're reusing the same case and sensors.
I didn't think staff would have specs yet. But in retrospect, media no doubt have access to new phones and watches but are under embargo, so staff would have the same info by now, for training at least. I'm hoping she was right and that the Ultra 2 is at least lighter. I'm not sure thinner is going to make much of a difference. Has this been discussed anywhere?

Agreed! If you are out on your bike, or running or even in an event then this could be very useful. To me, the most important upgrade for the Ultra 2 is, surprisingly, having Siri processed on device. I have encountered a number of situations quite a few times when the Ultra is not processing my Siri commands, usually having to do with Map navigation and I need to finagle and try and try again. Usually this is while I'm driving too![]()
I think they already do temperature sensing from Series 8 onwards. Blood sugar sensor has been doing some rounds in the rumour mill.I know! And there have been some thermometer related rumors, and the hypochondriac would just love that!
They do, but I don't normally ovulate, so it's not of much use to meI think they already do temperature sensing from Series 8 onwards. Blood sugar sensor has been doing some rounds in the rumour mill.
Hmm. During the times of Covid-19, temperature sensing for all could have been a useful function. They do, but I don't normally ovulate, so it's not of much use to me![]()
Exactly. And it seems we're still in those very times...Hmm. During the times of Covid-19, temperature sensing for all could have been a useful function.
I’m coming from a AW4, thinking of just going Ultra 1 as it’s cheaper. This is a great time to upgrade from AW4 to AWU2. I am waiting for att.com to update their website, as there may be a "BOGO" deal with AWU2 and AW9.
EDIT: Thank you, MR, for providing the chart comparison. It was beneficial since I couldn't find the comparisons for AWU and AWU2 on the Apple website.
It's hard to find a cheaper AWU1 version, even on Apple's reimbursement website. Good luck.I’m coming from a AW4, thinking of just going Ultra 1 as it’s cheaper.
Well here in India, pandemic had been over since end of 2021. There has not been any lethal waves which cause casualties.Exactly. And it seems we're still in those very times...
That's good! I keep hearing of upcoming waves and lockdowns... and yes — that would be great!Well here in India, pandemic had been over since end of 2021. There has not been any lethal waves which cause casualties.
Whether it is Ultra or Series 9, Apple needs to collaborate with major hospital chains in India for better connectivity of physicians with patients wearing Apple Watch.
I went 7 years between upgrades. Series 0 to Ultra 1, was incredible, delayed gratification. The Apple Watch is a device that doesn’t seem to get a lot of updates year to year. I think most people are fine skipping a year or more between upgrades.
