Maybe so, I dunno. The wording of your post is unclear, as it can be interpreted as your friend bought a Pebble and tossed it into some bushes. Your English teacher gives you a D for that post.
...and I thought I was the only one who had a problem with this guys post lol. His choice of words in majority of his post's are very awkward...

Case or no case (I used Tough Armour by Spigen and Defense Edge), when the retina display is faulty, apple will say that you used "hard force on the watch" and they will NOT replace it - https://instagram.com/p/5Q1ESvFjo2/?taken-by=tybeiron -
- and instead asked me to "buy a new Watch as a replacement" - no wonder Tim Cook is confident they will double their sales of more! Ridiculous and disappointed with their handling of the hardware problem, plus, it seems so isolated, too.

Here is my 42mm Sport with a Spigen Rugged Armor case. I only use it on there when I go to the gym as it's a bit too bulky for everyday use in my opinion. image.jpg

The Tough Armor case is definitely too bulky for every day use, though it doesn't really look that bad. It does slightly impede use of the crown, though. Actually, the more I look at this picture, the more I realize it looks bigger in the picture than in real life. It doesn't really seem THAT bad when I'm actually wearing it.

I just put mine on when I'm mountain biking. (Keep in mind, I'm left handed, so I wear it on my right wrist, so most of you will think it's upside down, when really everybody else wears their upside down;))

I hope nobody will be offended when I express my opinion that they all look awful. The watch was the last thing that needed a case, not on your wrist like that, any additional material is too much.

No offense here. I don't like the look of it much either. But when I'm in the gym lifting weights and using kettle bells etc I'd rather be safe than sorry. Outside of the gym I rock it with the naked look!

Can I ask why people put a case on the watch?

For phones, I believe you can make a case (pun intended) for using them but I'm struggling for the watch. Maybe for specific exercising, i.e., mountain biking but as a general rule, people seem to select the SS version of the AW for its looks and it gets covered up?

I'm not trying to flame anyone, but rather understand the logic.

For me personally it's because of my job. I'm a police officer, so the AW is great for me, we're in the public eye and not supposed to have our phones out, so discreetly being able to check notifications is perfect. That said, if someone kicks off and we end up going to the ground I don't want to be worrying about my beautiful AW hitting the pavement! Hence why I've just ordered the Spigen Tough Armour...

Fair enough, you've described a great situation that requires such protection.

I feel quite the opposite.
I am a bit of a watch fanatic and have many, from fine dress watches to rugged sports watches to a couple of "smart" watches.
I personally like the rugged cases (the Spigen ones) on the Apple Watch. Makes it look vaguely G-Shock-esque.

I like that you can wear it how you want to - make it look like a rugged sport watch or a dressy chronograph or a tricked out smart watch, depending on your mood.

On a more practical note - I have small scratches and digs on most of my watches.
For a smart watch, that isn't going to change - a case makes perfect sense.
Slight scrapes and bumps into walls, desks, etc are part of life - why ruin a perfectly good piece of tech if there's a way to stop it?

In saying that, I know a lot of people that think my G-Shock watch is a monstrous and tacky piece of tack that shouldn;t see the light of day, so everyone has an opinion on everything...

I totally agree with what you are saying. I also look at cases as a way of making my watch look unique and also to fit with certain occasions. That and I feel like my watch is really well protected. And the case I have on does is incredibly thin so it does not add any noticeable bulk to the watch itself.
