Amazon is kicking off the new year with an all-time low price on Apple's AirPods Pro 2 with USB-C, available for $189.99, down from $249.00. There's an estimated delivery date of January 7 for most residences in the United States.

We haven't tracked an all-time low price on this model of the AirPods Pro 2 since around early December. This is largely the same model as the AirPods Pro 2 from 2022, with the addition of a USB-C port on the MagSafe Charging Case, instead of Lightning.

A few other noteworthy AirPods deals include the AirPods 3 for $149.99, down from $169.00, and the AirPods 2 for $99.00, down from $129.00. Stock on the AirPods 3 has begun to dwindle with delivery into mid January, but the AirPods 2 has the same estimates as the AirPods Pro 2.

Keep up with all of this week's best discounts on Apple products and related accessories in our dedicated Apple Deals roundup.

My New Year’s resolution is around 7,600 by 3,000. Got these for low latency lossless with Vision Pro. Thanks for sharing deal!

Ugh, I'm so tempted by these; I've got a pair of Threes I really like, but some good noise cancelling headphones would be amazing. However, I'm also really wanting to get some of the Maxes if they ever update them...

I love my AirPods Pro 2 for the convenience and the software features but it’s a little frustrating that you can get VASTLY superior sound quality from wired earbuds that cost less than $10. The world of earphones, headphones and earbuds - wireless and otherwise - is huge, highly competitive and filled with dozens of examples that put the entire AirPods line to shame.

I really wish AirPods Pro were actual high end phones. At the prices Apple charges for them the audio quality just isn’t up to snuff.

I would totally buy these but my Airpods Pro 2 with lightning are fine, and I charge them on my wireless charger. I loooove my Airpods Pro, so good. I'll wait until they die then go for the Airpods Pro 3 with USB-C. I think my Airpods Pro 2 are literally my only device left with Lightning. I walked to the Apple store, surrendered my Apple TV remote with lightning, and spent $80 to buy the exact same remote with USB-C, just to not have to deal with Lightning ever again.

I'll sang one of these deals after my original APP die ...

If your originals are still going strong, you're lucky. I had mine warranty replaced once, and after a few months one of the replacement pair started showing early signs of the same crackling problem. They still work and I handed them down to someone who uses them far less, but the originals had some quality issues.

Whatever you do don't try out the new ones. I didn't think they'd be vastly improved, but they are.

My primary purpose is phone calls, use them for work too. So don’t really need the sound quality but regular AirPods fall out constantly, APP not so much.
Going thru a 2hr meeting no problem, then switch 1 to charge and just use 1 in my ear
, and the case is plugged in …

Snagged a set of these this morning with same day delivery. Replaces my 3 year old original APPs that I destroyed a couple days ago when I accidentally ran them through the washing machine in a shirt pocket.

My first gen Pro’s also have that crackling (rattlegate) issue after the extended replacement period ended, but they are fine as long as ANC or transparency mode is off. They do a fairly decent job of isolation without ANC. At least I won’t be recycling them for a while.

Its been that many times since October 2023 at Amazon, just look at the price history from camel camel.

Bummer to hear

I returned the original AirPods Pro for terrible bass reproduction.

Just snagged a pair of these on sale. Was hoping they would be a solid improvement to warrant the cost.

Ideally I will stick to phone calls and yard work ANC with these.

Guess I’ll find out soon enough.

Got a pair for my dad since he lost one of his second-gen Pros shortly before the holidays. Thanks, Mr. Broussard and MacRumors! ♡ And Happy New Year.

Bought the APP2 last autumn when I took my APP into an Apple store. Technician tested it and both were going bad and out of warranty. Luckily, across the street was a Costco, which had it on sale. It was the pre-Magsafe, USB-C version.
The APP2 currently is wonderful and the ANC is Great, similar to the APP but Before Apple nerfed the ANC with its updates, a known issue and discussed even here in the MR forums in the past.

The price point of $190~$200 is where the APP2 should sell at, considering the numbers of times it goes on sale at that price range throughout last year.

What is the advantage of these over the lightning version other than the port? Is it just Vision Pro compatibility?

This is a great deal for folks who have the gen 1 or don't have APP's.... I am perfectly happy with the lightning version. I don't think I've ever used a cable to charge them tbh.. I always just plop them on my magsafe duo every couple of days.

It’s not just the sound quality, it’s also that everything that was supposed to work on APP1 works night and day better on 2. Fast device switching, quick activation, everything. They show battery status in the battery widget all the time now, not just when connected.

Lots of little things they didn’t talk about because in typical Apple fashion that would be admitting that the first ones weren’t perfect.

But of course if yours are working might as well keep on doing what works.

If you take them to the Apple Store they’ll still replace them. They will take them in the back and run their own test and still replace them free. I think they are trying to quietly avoid a class action.

The issue is so widespread it seems to be a fundamental defect. Now that I think about it I think I had mine replaced after the extended replacement period was supposed to have ended. I started to explain it to the Apple Store rep and he politely cut me off with a “yep, know all about it, no problem.”
