leather cases are the new incandescent light bulbs
Made illegal by heavy lobbying from corporations that wanted their new product to be the standard despite being inferior in most ways and then a different newer product took over the market anyway? I don’t see how..:

That it all.

I actually really like my case. I was worried as well, but that is basically the patina of this case generation. When it happens to leather, it's the same, we call it wear and tear. The feel of it in hand feels nice too. I can actually wash this case and it dries relatively quickly after using a microfiber to squeegee excess water after a rinse. Looks nice and new after, and some of the light wear seems to bounce back after this. The buttons being wobbly is the design of a floating button, so when you push it, it feels like you're actually pushing the button, not a membrane, which is really nice and you don't find on cheaper cases as well. Where Apple did drop the ball though are the cut outs. The misalignment is one thing, but the size is another. Obviously this thing was cut out with the Lightning cable in mind still. I'm actually having a hard time figuring out what might be a suitable alternative to the Finewoven at this point, since all the plastic, pleather, leather cases don't feel as nice. I honestly wonder though if most of these cases that look bad from scratches just need a little wash at the end of the day and they're good to go because that's my experience.

Saw one in person yesterday and while it felt nice, it didn't look premium. The ones on display were already all scuffed up.

Why wouldn't Apple have sent these out to hundreds of employees for several months to see how they hold up? There are so many third party cases that these would've flown under the radar. Don't stamp an Apple logo on it to keep it "secret" out in the open. Tim Cook would've known within a week that they can't release these. 1000 no's for every yes? This should've been in the no column.

Apple cancels leather because it’s bad for the environment; yet ironically they’ll be be producing Co2 emissions from all the returns and replacements of these FineWoven products.

Until they address AirPods being a total landfill of a product (no replaceable batteries) and their iPhone parts all being serialized to the point of unrepairable, its all self-congratulatory pats on the back for being in compliance with ESG, saving on shipping costs, and fleecing the unsuspecting good will of their customers.

I think we are witnessing the classic clickbait drama. All the so-called influencers want to harvest views and therefore have to create some subject to whine about. Be it the guy who breaks an iPhone 15 on purpose (guess what, if you break it, it breaks!) or scratching FineWoven covers on purpose... "reporting" has become so toxic it's just ridiculous. And X/Twitter is full of bloggers posting random polls about nonsense, just to get their revenue up, with no quality content at all. We reached peak idiocy IMHO.

I happen to own a FineWoven case. It's beautiful, it's nice to the touch, it looks gorgeous and it slides well into my pant pocket. And it doesn't have any stains or scratches yet. Will it have some? Probably. Does it matter? No, it's part of how it is with some materials. I would still have preferred some more color choices.

I am one of those people who absolutely hated Apple's leather cases. They looked gross in no time. Call it "patina", to me it looked plan ugly and gunky.

I think this new FineWoven material has the potential to be really good. We will talk again in a few months, but I'm really loving it so far. I believe most of those who criticize it so heavily never actually tried it.

Yeah waiting to see how mine holds up over time. I am not going to intentionally damage it or mar it with my fingernail. So far it covers my 15 Pro just fine, I don't tend to drop or mishandle my phones anyway and almost decided to go without a case this year. But figured a little protection would be better than none. The edge material feels almost like it is the same material coated in either silicone or some other rubber material, so to me it feels slightly more tacky in the hand. My bigger concern is spills, and how the fabric will handle stains.

People always have to rage about at least one thing that Apple does. Meh. This isn't that big of a deal IMO. Just buy a different case, lol. Like no one is forcing you to buy Apple cases when there's literally a billion dollar case market of options out there to choose from.

Anyone who has an issue with the case should buy another one instead of whining.

Ive bought a 500 pack which should last me about a year. Each day i take off the case while recharging and replace with a new one. This helps my battery last longer as it can dissipate heat more easily while charging.

The old case is perfect as a dog chew toy.. and is also environmentally friendly.

I am guessing 95% of the posters have never even laid eyes on the new cases and are jumping in to pile on Apple. It's funny how the "I bought one and think its just fine" voices are buried by the mob. Thank goodness it's just an inanimate object being burned alive on this forum.

This must be the biggest piece of hot garbage that Apple has yet released. I would be really interested in knowing what the thought process was here.

"First, we got them to pay about 30 times cost for the handkerchief."

"Then, we took the entire computer, keyboard & mouse out of a new iMac 27 and got them to pay the same price for only the monitor."
"And not just pay the same price, but evangelize it with everyone else too."
"That was amazing!"

"Who can do better?"

"I've got a phone case that we can sell for about 80 times cost."
"Promote that man! This is the kind of margin innovations we want at Apple!"

"Do you think we could box air and get them to pay 100 times the cost of an empty box?"
"Why only 100 times? If it's Apple air they will smother if they don't keep a supply at all times. No Apple fan would dare substitute regular air once they have breathed Apple air."
"Geniu$! Promote that man! Make him head of infinite $ub$cription$."

"With innovations like these, I'm smelling another quarter of record revenue & profit. Drinks are on me!"

All ;)

What apple didnt say is that you should only look at finewoven while wearing the new vision pro…

Vision pro automatically corrects for any cosmetic damage resulting from use.. giving the user the best experience possible.

Looking at finewoven any other way leads to a poorer experience.

Well, I use the blue finewoven case with the blue 15 Pro Max and I like it. Touch and feel is good. It fits snugly and works well with MagSafe. Previously I always went with the leather cases. Who treats their cases with knives or other tools to scratch them? I don’t know, if the case passes the test of time, but I usually change cases about every 18 months. So for now and for me, this is totally blown out of proportion.

I know I'm probably in the minority, and maybe down the road my opinion will change...but I personally like the case so far. I'm sure it'll scratch and mark up...but so did the leather cases I got every year. The case is there to take the scratches so the phone doesn't have to. I'm not worried about my case looking marked up after being used - as long as the phone still looks great underneath.

My titanium blue Promax has a clear case problem solved. Why would you want to cover it up?
I had a problem with grip on the clear case and returned it. My hand would slip on it all the time and I was worried about dropping it.

I hope this pushes many people to live the caseless life. They're a waste of money and terrible for the environment year over year. Plus why would you cover up such a beauty of a phone (Pro Natty Ti).

I was just at the Apple Store having my Series 9 exchanged for a freaking chip in the stainless out of the box (good grief), and the employees at this particular store which I won't name - were embarrassed about the FineWoven cases. Even the shelf there was a murder scene with the cases on display. It's absolutely bewildering these are for sale. I can't even fathom it.

In my opinion they should have used the same material as the Nike bands with shards of recycled plastic in them. Probably not premium enough but would be cool

I just keep hearing Sam Jackson saying "Say Finewoven one more g*d d*mn time, I dare you!". So sick of hearing the word. lol. Never thought about the abuse the floor models would take. I was at the Apple Store on Friday and they looked fine (didn't like the feel though), but they had only been on the floor a few hours at that point. I wonder how often they'll need to replenish the floor models and recycle the scratched ones from people nail testing them. lol
