I love mine. After seeing all the negative comments, I picked up a Mujjo leather case as a backup. That one feels just as good as the leather cases from Apple I’ve been using in recent iPhones, but I prefer the feel of the finewoven case.

The leather makes the phone feel bulkier, and I like the texture on the finewoven. Mine looks great so far, but I’m not in the habit of dragging sharp objects across my phone cases. Guess I’m just weird!

I was just at the Apple Store having my Series 9 exchanged for a freaking chip in the stainless out of the box (good grief), and the employees at this particular store which I won't name - were embarrassed about the FineWoven cases. Even the shelf there was a murder scene with the cases on display. It's absolutely bewildering these are for sale. I can't even fathom it.

Those look so raggedy. Even the wallet looks stretched out and shapeless. I thought about getting the Mulberry to try out, but it doesn’t seem worth the trouble.

The twitter post states:
The silicone accessories feel much nicer
and silicone is as garbage as it can be as well 🤣.

Apple treating their customers as usual, marketing and smoke. Let's overprice a miserable product, stick our logo in it, and they'll buy it proudly.

Fans honoring their grotesque penny pinching, but hey, the environment bla bla.

I actually really like my case. I was worried as well, but that is basically the patina of this case generation. When it happens to leather, it's the same, we call it wear and tear.

I'm truly glad you like it; obviously many don't. What I would love to see is a review of the case after you've had it on your phone and used it for 6 months including pictures. Maybe we'll all be pleasantly surprised, but I'm guessing that, based on what people are saying at the HEIGHT of new product excitement, your enthusiasm may fade over the months. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Because what you see on social media isn’t always representative of the public at large?

Have you seen these cases in person? They’re not going to last a week without looking terrible.

Apple should be owning up to this debacle, issuing refunds for those who have bought them and working on a new more robust material for these cases.

I always remember Phil Schiller announcing a new material they’d created for the first iPad keyboard to be robust, not stain etc. That would be a good start over this FineWoven material which is completely inappropriate for a case.

No Android phone can blast IR dots through a screen and read them with an infrared camera. That is the only reason we have a notch or an island, but it's got nothing with Apple wanting to be unique...

Apparently it is possible. Sending and receiving of IR from a specially designed screen that allows both photography and IR.
But I doubt Apple wants to spend the money.
Cheaper to tell us what we want than give us what we want.

I never understood why anyone would buy an Apple case anyways? If you want a good case and like to spend a lot, just get a Casetify!

This guy has been featured in the past I believe on MacRumors and he’s independent and not sponsored.

His review of Fine Woven like many of his reviews really shows you if something is worth the price.

Edit: This guy has been around for over ten years and frequently does drop tests in different cases to show real world results.

I don’t always go with his top picks but I do always stay away from the bad products he identifies.
This guy is good. Quick edits but not over edited. Love that his dog sits with him. Love that he doesn't have crazy taglines. A+

If I took my nails to my leather case it also scratched.

Seems like people are upset there isn’t a gate level issue this year so they’re making a mountain out of a mole hill.
Its really a question of why Apple is substituting a polyester like case for leather and still charging the same for it. :D
This example likely wouldn't have drawn so many sharp opinions except Apple went way overboard to claim that everything they did is pro environment. example the Mother Nature skit.

This is a company that charges double the price for USB cables but they’ve been half the quality as competitors. A company that charges $700 for wheels or $1,000 for a stand.

And y’all are complaining about a $60 case? A case which comes with a disclaimer directly from Apple, “If you are concerned about this, we suggest you use an iPhone 15 Pro Max Silicone Case or Clear Case.”

Messy people need not to apply/buy Fine Woven.

I don't see anyone getting triggered. Just alot of people giving their opinions.
Perhaps this is all good, because what we really want to see is Apple improve the quality of accessories they sell, not simply accept this from Apple. Apple could have gone a different route also.

Apple's new FineWoven cases for iPhone 15 models have been heavily criticized since they were released earlier this month, with some customers and media outlets complaining about the fabric exterior being prone to scratches and stains. We recapped some of the negative feedback last week, and complaints have continued to surface.

In a 512 Pixels blog post on Sunday, Relay FM co-founder Stephen Hackett shared a photo of his FineWoven case with a misaligned USB-C port cutout, resulting in the pentalobe screw on the right side of the USB-C port being partially exposed.

"It's one thing for these cases to be a letdown in terms of material, but this is a level of sloppiness that genuinely surprises me from Apple," he wrote. "I know not every example out there is as bad as mine, but the vibes around this case aren't good."

On social media, some users claimed that the USB-C cutout only appears to be misaligned because of the angle that the photo was taken at, but other users responded with straight-on photos of the FineWoven case with the same issue. Not all of the cases have this issue, but multiple customers appear to be affected.

In addition, Parker Ortolani and MacRumors editor Hartley Charlton shared photos of FineWoven cases with visible damage on display at Apple Stores. An anonymous, alleged Apple Store employee mentioned likewise in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

Apple describes FineWoven as a "durable micro-twill" material made from 68% post-consumer recycled polyester, and said the material has a significantly lower carbon footprint than leather. Earlier this month, Apple announced that it would no longer use leather in any new products or accessories, as part of its environmental responsibility efforts.

It's hard to measure exactly how much negative feedback there is for the new FineWoven cases, but the material certainly appears to be proving quite unpopular so far. We've reached out to Apple for comment, and we'll update this story if we hear back.

I really hate it when my rain jacket gets wet, it just looks terrible.

I have been using the finewoven case since Friday. I like the sides better than the back. However either I am getting use to the back or the consistency has changed over a few days. It does not feel the same as it did at first to me.

I like mine and I traded a silicone to try out the Finewoven. For me, the complaints are less about the case showing blemishes and are more about reviewers having misplaced expectations that it shouldn’t. I’m embracing that the case shows where it’s been much as a leather case would. The silicone cases I’ve had began to peel after a year or so. Hoping the Finewoven holds up better.

Finewoven cases and bands would be absolutely worth it if Apple included a $29 magic cleaning cloth…they‘ve got to have some left over from that launch🤷‍♂️😛
The magic cloth is the key to removing those pesky marks and stains from Finewoven that has touched anything other than….a magic cloth😉
