Four days into using my FineWoven it looks brand new aside from the usual barely perceptible hint of where the MagSafe circle is from use (same happens with leather and silicone). I'm sure the moment is coming I scuff it and I still have sincere doubts if it doesn't look horrible eventually... but so far, with zero babying, it looks essentially new.
Same experience… totally blown out of proportion… funny how people get excited these days…

I returned mine the day after it arrived. Yuck!! Terrible feel in my hand, and the look was simply "blah".

Of course replacing leather as the more expensive choice allows them to feel better about their environmental impact (although, I've never heard of a cow being slaughtered simply for it's skin ... making their "impact" even less than zero!!)

The actual manufacture process of leather is extremely detrimental to the environment. It has a terrible environmental impact.

Apple's most environmental approach would be to make the most durable cases they can, and then stop changing the form factor of their devices for years so they are compatible.

Of course they show damage on those cases -- they have people running their fingernails up and down them. That is not normal usage. Perhaps my opinion is unpopular, but I have had the case since Friday and haven't had any issues, and my cutout is spot on. This is the second article talking about how many people hate the cases, with no mention of positive feedback.
“Normal usage” would fare even worse. Fabric stains. Those retail displays haven’t had a chance to be set down on a thousand dirty tables and other surfaces. Better stock up on stain remover lol

Leather is a byproduct of other industries that will not be going away anytime soon. Somehow I think that leather overall has less environmental impact than these "Finewoven" plastic cases made from recovered plastic. I very much doubt there is less overall new plastic in the Finewovern than there is in leather. Remember, most plastic is also a petroleum product, so that is also high on the environmental impact scale. I realize that *most* of the plastic in Finewoven is recovered from the ocean, but there are other uses for that recovered plastic than an overpriced chintzy phone case to go on my 1200 dollar phone. Abandoning Leather for these cheap cases is simple virtue signaling. If you want to be eco-friendly then do not use a case and upgrade your phone as seldomly as possible.

My Mujjo leather case arrived and it is much like the old Apple leather cases. I certainly do not mind skipping the Finewoven cases. Unfortunately Apple has drawn a line in the sand and I doubt they will bring back their leather cases. Like I said, the Mujjo cases seem great. This is what I got: https://www.mujjo.com/collections/i...-for-iphone-15-pro-max?variant=43919844737272
I own one too. I’m surprised how nice it is. It’s the same price as a FineWoven case. No one would confuse the two though. One definitely looks like it’s worth $9.99.

This guy is good. Quick edits but not over edited. Love that his dog sits with him. Love that he doesn't have crazy taglines. A+
When he started out I worked at a cell phone company and he would buy an otterbox defender case and put his iPhone into it and throw it like a football into the air and onto pavement.

He still does crazy drop tests but with different cases but I bought my first defender case ten years ago because of that guy.

I’ve recommended him to everyone I know ever since 👍🏻

Edit: Meant to say my coworkers and I also started making recommendations based on his videos back then.

Apparently it is possible. Sending and receiving of IR from a specially designed screen that allows both photography and IR.
But I doubt Apple wants to spend the money.
Cheaper to tell us what we want than give us what we want.
I’m pretty sure for everyone that approaches Apple with a new bleeding edge tech the conversation abruptly stops at, “Great, so can we count on you for 200 million of these in the first year?”

I suppose you could return it and just get a silicone one or third party case, or just go caseless.

Lol yeah right Apple is doomed. Every new product they released this year is selling like hot cakes.
I didn't say  is having a bad year — I said it's a bad  year. I also specified the subjectiveness. Imho, this year's products are nothing but incremental. Yes, if you're coming from a 4s — 15 Pro Max is an amazing phone, but if you have a 14 Pro Max (or the 1st Ultra AW) — this year is a safe pass. Thank you for responding.

I gladly pay a premium for Apple products such as iphones & iPads because they are the best products. But i draw the line at Apple cases. $59 for the Apple woven case? And $49 for their silicon case? 😂 You can get similar cases on Amazon for $10 bucks.
