Still waiting for the App Store to recognize that a new version of an app is an update. App Store shows no new updates since yesterday even though my iPad already downloaded the updates.

Hopefully by now you all know that you must confirm your credit card (or other payment) forms for the iTunes Store, at least after installing iOS 9. Or some trigger that Apple pushed to require a re-confirmation of our payment method.

I just signed out of the iTunes Store, then signed back in, and it asked me to confirm my payment option.

Then all went well for updates and purchases!

User CD M reported that if you click update in that second before it changes to open it should work and they all stay on for update. I haven't had a chance to try it yet.

I had to switch of WiFi and then clicked quickly and then able to update all.
This AM, Facebook still hadn't updated any posts. i had to delete and reinstall that one.

some wonky stuff but overall decent upgrade

I have different App Store and iCloud Apple IDs and I found that iOS 9 is sometimes using the wrong Apple ID for purchases. You can easily see this by finding an app you already own that is displayed in Maps when tapping on a business. It wants you to buy it again.

I also thought it was odd that it asked me to "Get" the Apple Store app when asking if I wanted it in a pop up instead of showing the download button. That's why.

That might be why updates aren't showing up correctly.

I had the same problem, then tried connecting my phone with USB cable to my Mac and pushed sync on iTunes. After that the update buttons appeared again and everything works as expected.

Or it could be that just waiting could have fixed it too :)

I had this problem and tried all the tricks here and none of them seemed to work. Then while I was typing up details into this box, with the Updates tab open, *poof* a bunch of updates appeared. I believe one of the items discussed here 'fixed' the problem but I'm not sure which one. Just realize as you try these suggestions they may not seem to "work" at first.

My wife's iPhone 6 experienced this bug after I upgraded her phone to 8.4.1 over the weekend. I just updated to 9.0 and now I'm having the same issue. The reboot and then "press one update REALLY quick" works for me, but it's a total PITA. I assume it's been reported to Apple already?

I'm seeing updates if I open the App Store, but something is odd as they aren't downloading automatically like they are set to. 1 or 2 will, but then they will stop and I have to manually download them even though it's set to automatically download.

Something interesting/odd I noticed is that even when signed out, the option for automatic updates still shows up under the App and iTunes Stores settings. It looks like they changed the way updates work so you don't even need to be signed in to get them, but it doesn't seem to work all that well.

Mine worked for a while and then is back. I synced a app from iTunes to my phone and it shows it needs to be updated, although that was a bug in iOS 8 as well; where If all your apps that needed updares were updated on iTunes and the synced it would show thyme needed to be updated.

I've had issues where when I tap on update next to apps or update all at the top, some of the apps download and others do not. I'm on wifi so 100mb+ sized updates should install too. Have to go in and tap the circle to stop the update and then tap on update again, go and check the all to see if it grays out and starts updating or not. Sometimes it never does until I do this 3 or 4 times.

I had an app fail to update at all. It got stuck. I tried canceling and restarting a few times and it would download, but wouldn't install. I restarted my iPhone and the app was gone from the phone, but the update was still in the App Store. I downloaded it and it "updated" without losing any data. I guess the old version of the app couldn't be removed or something. Very odd.

I too had this same issue but came up with a half-baked way around it

To help you "beat the clock," you can sleep/wake the phone from the update screen, which reactivates the "Update All" button momentarily when you wake it. It made timing easier for me.

My issue is a bit different. After upgrading to iOS9, when upgrading certain apps, it will stuck at some point during "installing". Then the app can't be deleted, the app store will show the app is no longer installed (showing the cloud icon). But when you try to redownload the app, it will stuck at the same point.
The workaround I have now is to reboot the phone, so that the stuck app is gone from HOME screen. Then redownload it (weirdly enough at this point App Store showing this app as an empty progress ring, not the cloud). Then when downloading, no progress or app icon can be found on the home screen. But when it's done, the app is back and back to its position and no data was lost (as if it was just upgraded normally.

This has happened to me only after I upgraded to iOS9 on my iPhone 6. And only for certain apps. It is really annoying though.

I've had that sometimes mostly with betas but I've ran into it once or twice with the final version too. Not sure what's behind it and more or less end up going through similar steps to get it all fixed up when it happens.

I've seen that a few times. It's like the old app couldn't be deleted. Like was mentioned rebooting the phone fixes this (and deletes the app, but leaves the data).

Same problem here on iPad and iPhone with plenty of spare storage. Another symptom is that some app icons can be blank (randomly) in the update screen.
