There’s a function to the notch. You can do a pin hole but your relying on fingerprints for security. I frankly like the Face ID array. For the most part I prefer it over Touch ID.
120hz I don’t think it’s ground breaking technically but hey whatever. Flip fold phone eh I guess innovating? Sure.
Certain features can be a little gimmicky, but many people change their phones every 1-2 years so having a novelty feature can be enough to interest people. In the earlier iPhone years because technology was improving so quickly year on year, each release felt like a major step. Apple has lost its way. Fundamentally very little has changed with the iPhone in the last 4 years. since the X.

I’m cautiously pessimistic that it will just be the 12 Pro/Max with a slightly smaller notch and 120hz. I wish they refined the design and gave us some brushed/matte steel edges instead of the same old glossy, smudgy frame. It loses its premium factor within seconds of holding it. Some of us don’t put our phones straight into cases. When I’m indoors I usually rock it nekkid.

I am quite excited this year. I have an 11 Pro but have to change carriers this month. I am hoping to get a good trade in for my 11 Pro and move to the 13 or 13 pro. Still think the max is too big for me.

Actually tempted to keep my 12 Pro Max another year but will see what new features it adds. End of the day only had this 12 Pro Max less than 10 months with the delays last year.

It’s hard to believe it’s only a few weeks away

it’s been both an incredibly slow and fast year

I’m “excited” for announcements but staying put with my 12 pro

bought too much tech this past year
The M1 Macs look nice, but my 2015 Mac Book Pro still works fine and my Mac Mini Intel is still working fine. As for the Apple Watch, rumors have the 2022 models looking better for features, so will still stick with my Watch 4. My 12 Pro is working fine, just got 5G on it (low band). If I went stupid, the 13 Mini could replace a couple phones I use for other purposes (7+ and 2016 SE) but I think I can resist. I KNOW I can resist.

Another iPhone that will be able to make phone calls via satellite and no signal around 😶‍🌫️

I think this has been debunked and more likely just an additional terrestrial band.

I am willing to bet half of the no votes will still end up buying one anyway. That being said I’m probably going to keep my 12 since it’s paid off.

I have an 11 Pro Max. I couldnt remember how much it cost so looked it up.. 1300 ! Wow. I must have been mad.
Probably had some amount of trade in to make it cheaper.
So Im not massively enthused by the 13 release. Undecided whether its worth spending another chunk of cash...

Like, what can the 13 series actually do that I cant do with my 11 Pro Max ?
Likely to be just as heavy too, if not heavier too.

Forgot to mention in the last post, that as other expenditures take priority (kids now being just one example), then maybe I should just switch over to Android, and get a functional mid-ranger. Pixel 4A going for just 279 at the moment (in the absence of the 5a in the UK)
Again, I think it would probably do everything my iphone 11 Pro Max could do.
But I guess if the goal is to not spend money, then just keeping the current phone is the best answer !!

I’m still searching for a Rose Gold skin. I’m just going to save every month for the iPhone 14. Hopefully before then Apple will make a decision regarding CSAM. If not then I’ll have an extra $1500 saved up.

I was all for it. However I just changed battery from ifixit on my iPhone se (1st get) and I guess I am good for another couple years. apple refused to change my battery so I figure id be forced to upgrade. wooo

I changed my mini 12 using apple car plus accidental Damage and new battery. I am good for another year. It looks brand new. Plus put a front and back screen protector so hope to keep this phone forever and maybe retire it as my regular phone in a year or so & upgrade the

Will be the first time in 4 years I don't upgrade to the latest and greatest. Will keep my 12 Pro Max another year. Not reading a lot of "buzz" on the 13 like prior iPhones. Have a lot of other priorities going on in my life now anyways.

Yes, excited about getting 13 pro or max. Have the 12 mini, great phone but battery has me hankerin for an upgrade. Plus promotion, camera and a new color are exciting. I’m really thinking about going pro max unless folks w 12 pro max experience would advise against it.
I’ve got 12 mini and 12 Pro Max and briefly had regular 12 and 12 Pro. Weirdly I got a hand cramp and nerve pain with the dimensions and weight of the 12 Pro but fared better ergonomically with the 12 Pro Max.

I don’t enjoy carrying the 12 Pro max and usually don’t. I use it on WiFi at home. But the camera is really good. It’s good on the mini, too, but a hair better on the Pro Max and of course has the optical zoom.

I don’t usually have an issue with the Mini’s battery but I will get the MagSafe battery eventually.

I am worried the next generation of pro phones are going to feel even more difficult to hold for those of us with nerve and joint pain. If that’s not an issue for you definitely check out the regular Pro as that’s a nice size between what you’re using now and probably will give you the spec boost you’re looking for.

I'm excited for every new shiny Apple product. I don't upgrade every year, but I still love to see the progress being made.

What's unusable about your X? There are many on these forums still using iPhones much older than the X.
The battery lasts barely 6 hours, it’s slow to do even the bare minimum of tasks like opening email, freezes require hard reboots at least once every 48 hours.

Its performance is actually borderline pathetic compared to a new phone.

The iPhone X shouldn’t be that slow. Check battery health. If your battery is still in good condition over 80% and thus not being throttled by the OS, it’s time to do a full factory reset.

My Uncle Sal is really excited. He has been hanging out at local Apple store the last couple of days talking to workers and getting in the mood
