ATT ruined my excitement, I was used to upgrading every year until the iPhone XS, paid it off then got the iPhone 12 Pro, what sucks is that I got the next up Plan because it stated you could upgrade it after paying it 50%, I was used to the 24 month window so no big deal, I mis read the contract that basically states it’s half of their 30 month contract and at the end of the day even though I got my iPhone October 22nd I would need to shell out 4 more months upfront to upgrade early which is close to $219.97.

back in the day it was close to at least one month or two which was doable but just the fact that I got pay $219.97 PLUS taxes on the new phone and the activation fee is a huge turn off for me… that means I would get my new iPhone around February, which would be a weird cycle for me I guess. Lives and Learn I guess but come to find out carriers are starting to do the same thing to beat the higher monthly pricing

Always excited especially since this one will be a game changer with 120hz , better camera , A15 gonna a be a rocket prolly , smaller notch and who knows what else . Deffo gonna be the best phone they ever produced.

Plus in this broken , ridden , pandemic day and age you can only count on apple to deliver a perfect product.

I can’t imagine they would. The date range for the repair I believe ran to April, so I’m assuming this means they made adjustments at that time and corrected the problem.
Well, hopefully so. Apple didn't change the too-short-display cable that caused stage lighting effect on their MacBook Pro until a couple years later, despite having a repair program from one of the models. It ends up affecting many years of the macbook Pros, and users having affected models outside the repair program are SOL.

I'm excited! Hopefully it'll push the price of the - ?? - down, so I can upgrade from my 8.

What are your experiences regarding getting the iPhone at release as fast as possible?
Is it better to buy directly from Apple or a local (authorized) Apple partner?

After upgrading every year for the last five years I won't be upgrading this year. My 12 pro max does everything I need it to do. My next upgrade will probably be with the next design change.

12 pro for me is fast enough. Camera is just fine. I can’t see anything on the next version to wow me over. Save some money and wait till next year, see what happens.

I will be keeping my 12 till the 2022 iPhone series (14?) but still very excited to see what apple come up with.

Not really. Not yet at least. I don’t think it’s going to get much that a 12 pro already doesn’t have.

the speculated 120z display would win me over, but I’d also assume that battery life will suffer on the first gen with a 120hz display

Touch ID+Face ID might get me excited, but I’m not really wearing masks anymore unless I’m on public transit (unlikely) or a doctors office (even more unlikely)

Either nothing substantial has leaked or the new features that did leak are just too mundane to impress me.

I'm going to be very surprised if this years iPhone is something noteworthy, something more than an "S" even if they aren't going with 12s but 13.

However, even though it's a fairly boring "feature", simply seeing a substantially larger battery in the 13 would actually get me excited and want to buy. Something like what we saw in the 11 Pro/11 Pro Max would be great, but something beyond that would make the 13 a must-have for me.

This is 100% the least excited I've been for a keynote announcement in iPhone history. At least last year it was a new form factor, and in the earlier years leaks were much less frequent. This year we've had a lot of leaks, and the leaks themselves have been underwhelming.

Really hoping Apple has managed to keep something big iPhone-related under wraps that won't be revealed until the event.

Some will defend Apple with the lacklustre update by saying there's little left to innovate etc yet Samsung always seem to be ahead of the curve and always trying something new to entice - pinhole > notch, 120hz, Z Flip etc in recent years. There's no excuse really, but Apple know they'll still sell like hot cakes regardless of the innovation because iPhone.

My excitement isn’t because of any particular feature coming to iPhone 13. It’s that I’ve been on my iPhone X for nearly 4 years. So, my excitement is mostly about getting all the tech updates that have come to iPhone since the X.

Once Apple makes the official announcement, I’ll be more excited and I’ll be able to buy into the hype because Apple really has to screw some stuff up for me not to buy a new phone this year.

There’s a function to the notch. You can do a pin hole but your relying on fingerprints for security. I frankly like the Face ID array. For the most part I prefer it over Touch ID.
120hz I don’t think it’s ground breaking technically but hey whatever. Flip fold phone eh I guess innovating? Sure.

At the time, the iPhone 6S was deemed a "not worth it" upgrade over the iPhone 6. But as time passed, the 6S became a much better phone than the 6 (mostly because it has 2X the RAM).
So I wouldn't throw the iPhone 13 models under the bus quite yet. They may have that secret sauce that makes them a worthy upgrade.
We'll find out soon enough.

Another reason the 6S was a worthwhile upgrade was the 6 had "bend-gate" with the frame, especially on the Plus, making it easy to bend. The 6S was reinforced to limit/prevent this IIRC.

I hope you're right though, I want Apple to blow us away with a feature we don't know about as right now the leaks are underwhelming as a Mini user.
