Does it really matter much whether it’s 54.8% or 62.5%? And why do you always have to know if it’s 54.8% or 62.5%? The phone will warn you when it hits 20% then just charge it a bit. Or put a wireless charger at work and at home and just let your phone rest there sometimes.

I guess you have some sort of point but seeing the numbers just give me some sort of assurance. I am thinking, in the future Apple will sell phones / devices with no battery percentage and also no storage sizes because there will be in the future no worry about battery or size. I can bet on it.

Upgraded to a Xs max 256gb from the 7+

Love it. Zero issues. Charges fine, works great! The smaller form factor is huge (or the opposite of), IMO it’s the perfect size.

Here is a video showing the "Yellow screen tint" mine seems a little warm honestly but not sure if the screen is defective or if its normal

I am happy with my xs. No problems at all. Will fi and cellular signal better than my old X. And the camera, hhhhmmmmm it's perfect

I passed on the X last year so went straight from 7 to XS on launch day. Reasons I stayed with the 7 for two years were that it worked fine and I'd heard that FaceID on the X needed tweaking just as TouchID did in its day.

First impressions of XS were that the OLED screen was big, vivid and pin sharp but did its features justify the extra heft? Gestures took just minutes to learn and of course it went straight into a silicone case.

After a fortnight I'm almost OK with the extra size and weight because, in the typically subtle Apple way, the phone just offers a better experience. Two standouts:

(1) FaceID is fast and flawless. I really like that with Apple Pay I can 'prime' the phone with a double tap on the side button so that by the time I get to the card reader all my cards are displayed. No more of those anxious moments with the 7 when TouchID failed and I had to type in a passcode while others waited to pay.

(2) The camera is a big improvement on the 7. I particularly like the 2x zoom and it's fun playing around with the portrait mode bokeh settings in post. The improved HDR offers greater range of possibilities without user intervention.

I've not experienced any of the published issues with battery charging, WiFi, call quality etc. So while I've grown to appreciate the XS, I've kept the 7 just in case.

Just got my XS Max yesterday morning, so it’s just one day but I’m really lovin’ it!!!
Coming from a 8 Plus, I was a little “curious” about all the Face ID thing, I’ve followed its release since launch day on iP X.
Well I’ve to admit that it works flawlessly! (Knock on wood)
Registered it without anything on except for my long beard, it recognizes my face with my sunglasses, glasses, hat, in full daylight as in total darkness, even this morning when I woke up I just picked up the phone and swiped up and boom, I was on my home screen. I repeat, just woke up!!!

I have to test the battery life and camera, but I’m faithful that they will be great.

I mean, I’m just glad I’ve updated and that finally I got my device delivered too.

Yesterday my wife and I switched from AT&T to Verizon. I had the iPhone X and had the intention of getting the XS Max. After playing with the demo unit I was underwhelmed by it. It did not fit in my jeans pocket which meant it would likely not fit in my slacks at work....and that was without a case. So I went with the XS and love it. Exact same thing as my X with a few spec bumps.

One thing that is driving me crazy reading through here is those saying “I’m glad to have a big screen again.” It is almost like they forgot the X and XS screen is bigger than the 6+, 7+, and 8+.

That said, the XS Max is a very nice device. If I watched videos on my phone or edited pictures I may have been more enticed to deal with the XS Max size. But I could not justify it.

The X/XS iPhones aren't bigger than the Plus phones, they are technically smaller.
I think that's why many Plus owners are happy with the Max, though it's still the heaviest iPhone made.
Lisa from Mobiletech Review as well as others have debunked that myth due to the Plus having a wider aspect ratio (regardless of Apple's 5.5" vs 5.8" claim).

That said, I tried out the XS and Max last night again too. I preferred the immersive screen of the Max, but do find the XS an easier to manage form factor in the hand, and assumably pocketing it as well, as you wrote. I didn't get to try that with the security tags in place at the Apple Store lol.

Just got my 4th iPhone XS Max replacement and this new one has an awful pink tint even when viewed head on, makes me feel sick after looking at the screen for a minute. :(

I've never owned such an awful device, I don't think I'll ever find a good iPhone XS Max tbh. Probably just going to get a refund and maybe try the XR when that comes out.

I love my Xs Max. I came from an iPhone 7, so it's a huge upgrade. Only issue I had was that it seems to have so many more scratches already than my iPhone 7 ever had.

Better get a screen protector. My XS also had them right out of the box. The surface is much more delicate than your 7.

Screen protector and case. My XS went straight from the box to a case with a glass screen protector installed on it.

I have found that to be true. I just dont even care to put a screen protector on it now since the scratches are already there. Pretty sad.

Everyone tells me that it isnt and different that the 7, but it already has multiple scratches. I guess ill pay to replace it in a year or so.

I'm very happy with my XS the camera was a huge upgrade from my iPhone 7. I had a week or so of home button withdrawl. But I'm over it now. Onward and upward....
