I don’t either. Why would I with oled screens in the house? For me the bigger screen is just more eye candy. It’s the best screen on any consumer device. Pics is the big thing. They look better on here vs the X. Typing is easier for me as well but that may vary for others.

Agreed. There are many things that are improved by having a bigger screen. I realized that which is why I kept the Max.

I like the phone a lot, but I think my battery might have issues. The iOS 12 battery utility is garbage, so it is hard to say just how much time I get per charge, but my 'Screen Time' in last 24 hours hasn't broken 4 hours yet, and I've had it charged to 100% and down to 5% in that period. It seems to lose 10%+ overnight doing nothing. Looking at the hour fractional periods in the app, I have lost up to 20% in an hour and I've done nothing particularly intensive on it, just web browsing, messing with the camera a bit, etc.

Anyone else have issues with the battery?

No

Sent it back and now I’m very very happy with my old 6S Plus. It‘s the best phone Apple ever made.

I love it to have a LCD screen back and the battery percent display. I missed the battery percent, displayed always on the top of the screen, so much.

Loving our phone. Having been a Macrumors member for awhile and the love of certain users to post problems with every single device ... I've learned not to get caught up in all the hysteria and intentional dissing of Apple. Some people love to do this and post history shows it. Whatever floats their boat.

Wife and I opened our Xs Max phones last night and were pleasantly surprised. The phone flies even though we had 8+ phones previously. The screen is a HUGE wow factor over the 8+. Face ID is taking some getting used to but I like it. Battery life is impressive even coming from the 8+.

Have to laugh at the "yellow" screen thing - neither of our screens are yellow. Some maybe, but not ours. Reception? Reception seems normal or better than the 8+. When the phones were activating with Verizon, reception went to 1 bar for awhile and then popped back to normal. I had problems activating my iPhone with Verizon - for some reason their automated process couldn't get my SIM chip right, and the website had no way to change it. So had to call in, a nice rep helped me, was good to go in 2 mins.

Having no screen flickering issues at all. Absolutely LOVE the screen reading at night in bed. The phone definitely feels heavier than the 8+ but feels thinner (could have been the wallet case I used on the 8+).

I don't even notice the notch and love how reception and all that is on its own. Still getting used to swiping up constantly, but it's almost already second nature.

The A12 processor flies. I type very fast and people always comment how I do things really fast. The Xs MAX feels like the first phone that is actually faster than I am. 8+ was fast, but this phone flies and can keep up with me.

Wife absolutely loves her phone too (Xs MAX as well).

Looks like we got another winner from Apple and 2 more happy long term customers. Now we are planning on keeping these for 2-3+ years.

Such a liar. The XS Max is a great phone but coming up with all sorts of exaggerated statements to justify the fact you were ripped off big time is just laughable. The iPhone 8 Plus is equally fast for normal tasks such as multitasking and messaging. I’ve used the XS Max for a week and I couldn’t feel it being snappier than my 8Plus for a single moment, hence returned it.

Coming from an iPhone 8 to an Xs and loving :

- Face ID
- The gestures which were very easy to get used to
- The camera
- The bigger screen

So far I haven't experienced any issues with Wifi/LTE speeds. I have had the charging issue when the screen is turned off but I'm sure it will be fixed in a future update.

@BigMcGuire post was genuine and to call anyone a ‘liar’ based off a text on a tech forum because they expressed their likes and opinions on comparing the 8 Plus and X Max is unnecessary and you _can’t_ literally call someone a ‘liar’ if they have a validated opinion.

Your perception of your iPhone 8 being equally as fast for normal tasks and multitasking is perfectly fine, but just because somebody else’s opinion Contradicts yours, doesn’t mean that they’re being untruthful either. Two things in your post are not mutually exclusive.

It has been two days now since I got my Xs Max Gold and I love it so far. The battery life is a huge improvement, did not get a chance yet to shoot so much, the new gold color is really nice too. I was a bit worried if my phone might have any of the issues that I have read throughout the forum - hopefully, all is good!

Loving mine. Rocking the space grey max with saddle brown leather case. Nothing better!

Haha. :) Whatever works for you, works for me. I came from the 8+ and I liked the phone so much I won't even attempt a comeback, besides, if you're happy with the 8+ then good for you, I would have been happy with it too. 8+ is a great great phone.

Thanks @Relentless Power - well said! :)

If you think 6s+ is the best phone ever made then 7+ is even better since it's the same phone with more upgrades ;) I have both so I know.

I wish Apple would bring back battery percentage or have it as a toggle. I definitely prefer the pre-notch era of the icons on top row.

I got the Xs max, and love it. My brother saw it and asked which iPhone I had in my hand. I told him, and lo and behold, he went and ordered one. He tells people I forced him into buying an iPhone. I have never forced anyone to do anything. I have always told people that I like my iPhone, but you need to get what you want. His phone arrived today. It is funny that he has been saying he needs a new iPad and a new tv, but doesn’t have the money, but goes and orders the new iPhone but is not on the upgrade program.

On my second XS and still having the WiFi performance issues that have been discussed here and elsewhere. The WiFi chip and/or the software is absolute garbage and this is probably going to be a huge issue when Apple is forced to acknowledge it. It’s gotten publicity but not as much as it should - most likely because it still works even if the performance is terrible. Not saying every phone has this but it seems to be VERY common.

On an XS, if you pull down the top right to get the Control Center, you will see the battery percentage.

Yea, thats what I do now but I would rather have it up there for easy glance at it
Does it really matter much whether it’s 54.8% or 62.5%? And why do you always have to know if it’s 54.8% or 62.5%? The phone will warn you when it hits 20% then just charge it a bit. Or put a wireless charger at work and at home and just let your phone rest there sometimes.
