Other Are you happy with your new iPhone Xs/Xs Max?

Had mine for nearly a week now, and all I can say is I’m loving it, the colour, the speed, the camera, just everything is perfect with this phone.

OK, spent an hour with the XS Max fresh from a visit to the cell store for activation, getting it set up etc....

Initial impressions - it feels GREAT, love the gestures, love the face ID, love the BIG, BIG screen. OLED seems uniform but tints on the "tilt" left and right, but no complaints on the general look and feel of the phone....seems really comfortable. Impressive.

Now on to performance testing to see if it stays here. If the substance (call/data performance/consistency) holds up, it will be a long term winner. It's only an hour, but impressions are good on the first handshake.
 
Not happy with XS Max.
My X was just perfect size,I’m going back to it.
Max is so bulky and uncomfortable,I used 7 Plus before but once I got used to X form factor,I can’t go back to awkward and bulky size of Max and Plus.

Also the screen looks noticeably yellow next to the iPhone X.
On the iPhone X,whites are crisp,nice white as they should be but on XS Max whites are actually cream.
So inferior display on Xs Max vs X sadly.

Try carrying it in your pocket,then you will miss your iPhone X..every single time.

I got my hands on a gold 64GB XS. Coming from a 6S this thing is awesome. The photos online of the gold color didn’t impress me, but once I saw it in person I was in love. I was concerned about Face ID, but I think I’ll love it more than Touch ID. Loving it so far!
 
Thrilled. Just watched a 4K video in HDR on YouTube. The colors are nothing short of amazing. This is a fantastic phone.

I am in the same position, mine is coming tomorrow after taking a 3 day break in ZZ. I like my 7+, how do you justify the expensive upgrade? I’m guessing once I get it, I will tell. Is the display much better, like brighter?
 
Returned my Max for the XS, couldn’t adjust to the sheer height of the Max after a year using the X. I had the 6 Plus / 7 Plus so it’s not that I’m not used to phablet style phones. I Like the portability of the 5.8”.

Yeah loving the combo, enjoying the watch just as much as the max. Certainly Glad to have the bigger screen for both.

Love/hate relationship with the Max so far. I think I’ll get used to the size. I love watching videos (which I do a lot), typing on this is way easier and faster for me, and battery life is amazing!!! I just got used to the X size and being able to handle it with one hand. Honestly, I keep going back and forth if I’m keeping it, but at the end of the day I will probably stay with the Max and see what next year brings since I usually upgrade every year.
 
Took my Max back yesterday and exchanged for an XS.

The screen on the Max is lovely, but the awkwardness of using such a physically large display/phone just wasn't worth it. I'm a grown man, and have pretty decent sized hands, but even so it was simply plain awkward to use. Also, I hadn't been prepared for the weight of the Max, it felt akin to carrying a house brick in your pocket.

Much happier with the XS. :)

Only had mine for a few hours but happy with it so far. I’ve got a big phone again and one handed use is possible like on previous plus models.

Just arrive at my home, I'm at work right now, gotta wait until 19.00 ... Then I will check the signal issue here in Colombia, south America (yep, we have internet here :p)

I’m in agreement, the Xs max and the Apple Watch series 4 is and amazing experience.

Part of me wishes apple could have released the max last year.
 
I am completely happy with my Xs Max! Such a great device! And I have to admit... I was cautious about FaceID but really like it a lot.

I have noticed the stainless steel band holds up pretty well on mine, mine is the gold, anyone with the pure silver stainless steel band noticed it scratches easily?

I had the silver X last year and I used the apple silicone case. I have a tiny scratch on the bottom where it wasn’t covered but other than that it’s help up well for the 10 months I’ve had it.

Right now? I’m very unhappy with the experience I’ve had with the XS Max. Part of it is the fact that I can’t even activate the dang phone (not entirely apple’s fault.)

My Bluetooth headphones (which connected to my 7 plus just fine) that use the 4.1 Bluetooth software aren’t even recognized by iOS 12 on the XS Max.

I also didn’t know I’d lose the battery percentage indicator. It’s a small thing, but I’d rather have the number than the picture.

Yahoo’s Fantasy Football app won’t load on this phone, but it loads just fine on the 7 plus.

I’ll have to explore more to see what else is broken.

Unfortunately, for these reasons, I decided to return mine. The X will keep me happy until next year.
