Nope.

Dealing with greatly reduced (-110 or more signal) on the Max compared to my X (-60). Fortunately, I haven’t gotten rid of the X and started the return process on my Max.

Way too expensive of a phone to be dealing with anything remotely close to this. Combined with only a 14 day return period, and doubtful Apple pushes anything out or addresses in that window, the Max is the first Apple product I have had to return.

Yep. Really disappointing

I’m wondering how many people are checking?

How do I check signal strength other than Bars?

Coming from an 8 Plus I find the gestures a bit annoying. Swiping up to exit an app often requires multiple attempts in full screen apps like games. Usually no more than two swipes, but still. When there was a home button, it was a simple click that worked every time.

Face ID is also less versatile. Hard to glance at the phone discreetly during meetings for example. You have to wait for it to give up on Face ID and present the passcode screen.

All in all it’s fine, but there are tons of compromises for losing the home button.

Getting more comfortable with the Max now. I had picked up an XS sim free to down-size to, but thinking that’s going to go back. The few apps that are Max ready look gorgeous, and I figure most big ones will be updated for the new screen size classes (max and XR) before the XR release date.

it takes getting used to but hard to go back when you do. I was preparing an old 7+ for Give Back and had the hardest time remembering the button. I have an iPad and find the button also annoying.

Thats why I sold my X and went back to a 8 plus. The eye strain and headaches were killing me. Something to do with the way the phone is always scanning your face was the problem.
You can turn off attention awareness features so it scans much less often. But your problem was probably related to PWM on the OLED screen. You can google it or check out the enormous thread about eye strain in this forum.

I‘m so happy. The screen is bit yellow and I have to get used to the new display size (normal xs, coming from a 7) but damn I‘m happy.

It‘s a bit hard for my thumb to reach the notch areas without changing the „position“ of my hand. Even with big hands

I purchased an Xs in reaction to the escalation of the tariff war. An Xs instead of the too large Max.
I put a screen protector on it before switching it on and once activated, noticed a yellow tint to the display as opposed to the bluish tint on the "X" display. Both devices have the same brand and vintageof screen protector..
The Xs seems to run warmer than the X, but it is probably working a little harder until it achieves nominal running.
I prefer the bluer display, so I'll find out if the screen protector had a tint to it.

I received my Max yesterday. Coming from a 6S Plus I was already used to the size. The Max is better in every way and I’m glad I stuck with the bigger size. It’s very nice.

No screen isnt bright and yellow and signal.is bad and no major apps updated there apps for it so its just zoomed apps

I caved and bought the Max and love it! Do I miss he one-handed size of the X, yes. But the Max is SO much easier on my eyes! Don't need to use my readers like I did on the X.

I am very happy with my Xs Max. The size is exactly what I wanted with the X display.

Same here. I got the X because of the new tech and swipe gestures, but I really wanted all that in a Plus sized phone. I found that I was never really using the X one-handed, so I might as well go back to my beloved big phones. Love the Max!

You are lucky. I also came from the 6 S Plus and love the Max, except for having the very poor cellular connectivity. It may be going back soon.

Love the phone, but already had to exchange one due to a dead pixel right in the center of the screen.

Dial *3001#12345#* A Main Menu will appear. Select LTE. Select Serving Cell Meas. The number after rsrq0 is your true signal strength.

props to @Glideslope

Its actually rsrp0

-30 is good. I think anything less than -50 is fine. People who are seeing -118...that's a bad number.

its normally within a range from -50 to -120dB. closer to -50 is better

Even more bizarre, just went to run the test again to see the results side by side at work, and it won’t load. Just shows “loading”.

This really has me wondering. Did Apple or Verizon stop this from running, and why?

Aw crap!!! It shows -115. What can or should I be doing to fix this?

I’m in the same boat with -110

Started return process, but hoping Apple addresses this soon. Maybe it is a non issue, but something is clearly different between the X and XS Max

WOW...Are only a few phones showing this problem or is it all of them? H8 to send it back cause I really like it!

Loving it! I come from a 5s, my hopes for a smaller flagship-ish device finally died so I caved this year and bought the XS. Of course the screen is gorgeous and I already more or less got used to the handling of the bigger phone, I will see how well I manage to pocket the thing when I go out this weekend. (I'm a woman with tight jeans who absolutely loathes to take bags when going out at night - the smartphone market is really not for us these days )

Can't really say much about functionality compared to other phones, because let's face it, everything is better than a 5s nowadays :D

Hard to tell.

A lot of folks probably don’t check (I never would have until read article on here about it).

I have seen a lot of positive reports too. I just don’t want to sink $1500 in a “phone” that has issues out of the gate.
