I had mine. Loved mine. I couldn’t live without mine until one atrocious day last week they got stollen.
In fact, they got yanked out of my computer that was under one of my multiple pillows at the hospital.
Imagine my surprise when I could actually use Find my Airpods on my Find My IPhone app and I saw the person stealing them try all kinds of things before taking them out of the Hospital.
I won’t be getting my money back. So, it sucks but it was good to know the person that had them did it all deliberately since he/she stole the charging cable too, the dock and AirPods. Had them less than a month too.

Sucks because the Chinese versions coming out of Shenzhen or Guangdong are so big and they work only one at a time, not to mention, they don’t work together(oxymoron-sorry). Only one at a time and that’s the worst. The seller on AliExpress listenvo store, buyer beware stay away. Scam. Spend the $180 you guys. Be wise.

I'm fairly certain I'm keeping mine.

The case is slippery as a bar of soap however, and scratches easily but I don't really mind that. The headphones can be hard to get out of the case too, but again I don't mind.

As far as convenience goes, these can't be beat. Fast charging is amazing, as well as pull out to pause. Volume control is a bit of a pain, but overall these are a keeper.

Can anyone who has had theirs for a yearor more comment on the durability and build quality after a year of use!?

Thank!!!

There is a YouTube video on how to take the AirPods out correctly. It was frustrating when I first got them I would pull and pull and it would take numerous tries which made me want to return them. After watching the video I get them out on the first try. I also brought a case for the case which saves it from scratches and make it less slippery.

I'm returning mine. They don't fit in my ears (they fit just like Earpods, which I despise), and even when they do have a good seal (which only lasts about 30 seconds if moving my head at all), if I'm walking downtown they constantly lose connection and reconnect. It's like listening to an FM station going through a tunnel. It's incredibly annoying when you factor that they cost $175 (with tax). Plus, on the two phone calls I've received -- when I tried answering -- it immediately disconnected.

The tech is pretty cool -- I love that they connect to my Apple TV. If the AirPods 2 go into the ear, and are water resistant/waterproof, then I'll reconsider trying them.

thinking of getting these, how is the microphone quality??

The call quality was awful. I’m not sure if they’ve tweeted them any since launch. I had them for a few days and returned them. However, the music quality was GREAT.

They're overpriced for the sound quality. Or maybe the sound quality is "great" for bluetooth and I've been spoiled by having actual quality wired headphones over the last several decades. I challenge those that believe that these are "great" headphones to seek out non-Beats/Bose headphones for actual quality for your dollar. I'd rather plug in via lightning cable and enjoy my music, rather than judging based on bass levels not distorting the sound, or comparing to earpods -- which are garbage and why Apple gives them away.

The sound quality is a step up from earpods, but barely. The fact that they don't stay in your ear and you constantly need to adjust to be able to hear the music if you move your head slightly -- makes any headphones pointless. And if they aren't water resistant, so if you want to go for a walk when it's 80 degrees out and you sweat them out -- good luck on the warranty covering them.

Again, the tech is great. Love being able to tap and skip songs -- tap and start music -- put them in and watch movies on Apple TV -- quick charging.

But "great" music quality? I suppose if one listens to music on their laptop speakers or the monitor speakers on their monitor, then yeah. For me, I was very disappointed. No biggie. Apple will improve upon them.

As for a case I use a leather coin purse I got from one of my trips. I don’t like putting the case by itself in my pocket because lint is attracted to it. The coin holder solves that issues. And it also protects it from getting dropped. I’ve had mine for over a year now. Case was replaced twice by Apple due to charging weirdness where the charge wasn’t holding the first month. And another charging issue later in 2017. I hope they come out with smaller black models I’m so on it.

“Great” is a subjective word. For music connoisseurs they are not the best but for most people it’s better than wired EarPods. I was looking for call quality whereas others want them for music. There are many reasons why I wanted a pair. True wireless, charging case, and not having to keep a micro usb cable for charging drove why I bought them.

I bought them back in December 2016. Is the sound worth $179? HECK NO. But I love my AirPods and the technology that's involved. You don't but them for high fidelity sound quality. If you look at its competitors, the ones with wireless buds with no wires in between, sound cuts out. Not so with the airpods. Apple put a lot of tech in those tiny things, not just cut the court and add a battery. Calls are clear, and I use these airpods for phone calls.

I love wire free listening when I'm running, lifting weights (this is a big deal to me). Nothing worst then when you knock your phone out of your pocket with a dumbell getting caught with the wires. I love the excellent range, and how you don't think about pairing them to the phone or turning them on or off. You just open the case and insert the bugs and that it.

I'm not a music head, i use it mainly for podcast, telephone calls, and some music listening and its great. I don't listen unless i'm walking my dog, working out, or driving and talking. Its such a great little device I love it. It feels weird to use my headphones when I'm out and about. Next to my Iphone, its my other useful gadget.

Man I sweat like a pig, running, hiking, and lifting weights for the last 1 year and have no issues with my airpods. There's a youtuber that put airpods in the washer and they work 100%. its basically glued together so its water resistent but they dont advertise it. Same way when I accidentally wash my earpods and they work still.

Sounds like you had an issue.

Be careful spreading blanket views on a product you had one problem with.

The call quality has been fantastic for the 14 months I've had mine. There's been no need to tweak them in that department.

Ya no idea what he’s saying. I use it for 1-3 hrs for phone calls a day and have never had issues with call quality. I think those stems that stick out and people make fun of work as strong antennas that prevent the signal from dropping and for call qualify since the mic aim down to the direction of the mouth.

Well, my first impressions ( apart from the neat pairing), was that they were uncomfortable, didn’t stay in well, sound was thin and cold and they let in too much background noise.

I tried some dodocool in-ear pads, made the AirPods more comfortable due to the silicone material, they stay in well, sound is warmer, more three dimensional and louder. They also keep out a little bit more background noise. Only drawback is having to remove the covers to put the pods back into the case.

There is still lots of room for improvement, but I will be keeping these for their convenience, though I look forward to a pair with noise cancelling and a better sound.
[doublepost=1518635876][/doublepost]I see some people are using EarSkinz, does anyone who uses those also use/used dodocool on-ear pads? If so how do they compare?

Thanks

Same to you too just because you haven’t had issues doesn’t mean others haven’t.

This is a forum and someone asked for my experience with them. I’d hope no one reads only my comment. There are wide opinions. I tried 2 different pairs and had the same outcome. I will probably try again if/when apple releases the next version. :)

What I meant was, most people's Airpods, when working as they're designed to, handle calls fine.

It sounded like you were unlucky with your initial pair.

Out of our scenarios, my 'test' of over a year, compared to yours of under a week....i'd say mine reflects the majority of user experiences & hence holds more weight when making a general claim on the Airpods.

I'd suggest you give them another go.

I’ve been seeing AirPods everywhere. The gym, airport, etc... Apple has hit that’s for sure.

We only have 14 days to return so most people would have to return them in a short amount of time. Don’t spread blanket views from “our scenarios” because your pair was fine. It doesn’t mean all of them were. People have different needs and expectations from products. Issues go unnoticed or we never hear about them. Whereas the majority never has them. Someone asked for opinions on a forum and I provided mine. But sure. You’re right. I’m wrong.

No no. Missed my point again.

I'm not saying your issues never happened, nor the issues anyone else has encountered.

I'm trying to be respectful here, but you're starting to get defensive, & it's leading me to believe that you don't want to take in what I'm saying.

Was about to return as I was really disappointed in sound (quiet, boxy). Spoke to genuine who replaced them. New ones sound 100% better. Really happy with them now and defo keeping them. The fit really well and are super convenient.

Fancy that - you had an issue (as some do) & had them replaced with a pair that works as they should.

Perhaps others who are quick to dismiss them (or any other product for that matter) shouldn't post negative reviews when they've only had them for a few days, before they've determined whether they had a faulty pair.
