Works really well. Some of the interfacing on notifications/messaging/other apps at least is modern and seems much easier on the eye than what we see on Android.

Music app is a bit weird. But WatchOS is even more impressive in its improvements. Both have got a lot of life in them.

Absolutely, there are a couple of little things that I'm sure they'll address but overall I'm digging the upgrade myself, way more excited about this than the new iPhone, as one who already has a 6S Plus that is.

I ask myself, is there anything about IOS 10 that I would really miss if I went back to the previous version, and the answer unfortunately is no. I'm adapting to it, but just don't love it.

Same here.

The only thing that marginally excites me is the right swipe widgets panel which puts very important information in a quick access location. Besides that, nothing to write home about, just a coat of paint over the same old thing.

I was loving it at first, and I really like how much faster everything moves, but there are some things that are starting to bug me.

Music- the music app is pretty terrible now. The functionality is fine, but the design is a serious step backwards. The For You app used to be fun to browse through with it's colorful tiles of playlists and albums to browse, now I feel like I'm looking at an MTV Music News app from 2009. Chunky black letters on a white background and instead of albums and playlists laid out for you to discover, you basically have to scroll through little swipey rows and also scroll past what looks like ads for events or something. Totally confusing. I think they merged the artist spotlight (which I never used because seriously, is it anything but just promotion for concert tickets?) with the For You discover tab and the result is an unpleasant mess. The Library might actually be improved (it wasn't great last time around), but it's still following the same bland white background/chunky cubes of barely any info design pattern. Browse is what used to be the New tab and the same stuff is there, but just organized so that you have to tap a bunch of times to see what used to be right there on the home page. Seriously, the Music app is such a fail right now that I'm thinking about looking into the other popular streaming services. Apple Music was a must-have for me when it started, and the fact I'm rethinking that tells me that I really dislike the current incarnation of the app.

Seriously, why did they get rid of the feature where you could pull down on a text message notification banner and reply instantly? Now when you pull down you get the whole app opening up, which is slower. I used to be able to just pull the notification slightly and a cursor would pop up, I could type "Ok" and SEND in about 2 seconds. Now you have to wait for the whole screen to shift to Messages. Lame.

I'm not as bothered by the loss of Swipe to Open as some other people are. I think it's going to take a little bit of a learning curve and reshuffling of muscle memory to make this method work right. It'll probably be fine.

Notifications are ok and I don't mind how they look (haven't updated my Air 2, yet, so we'll see if I still like it then), but they do seem to have a weird delay when I try to click or swipe them.

I do love that Maps automatically pinned my car when I parked it somewhere. Interestingly it's only done that once and isn't always happening, so I'm not sure what the consistency of that feature is.

Haven't touched it, yet.

My SE is humming along pretty good as is.

This has been the thread I've been waiting for. I haven't upgraded yet...and don't see a compelling feature that I'm 'missing out' on. Seems like the initial feedback has been that it's a mixed bag.

First time i haven't updated to a new iOS in the first 24 hours. It's also the first time since the 4 that I haven't been a launch day customer of a non-S release.

I simply refuse to install it now that they've done away with the swipe to unlock. I find it ridiculous in this day and age that they'd remove a fundamental iPhone experience which has been there forever. What is it with Apple first the horrendous flaw in the iPhone 7 hardware and now this? They've really lost their way, Apple.
I certainly agree.

Eliminating swipe to unlock is an Epic Fail!

One of the unique, fast and very effective ways to unlock ones phone gets tossed. What the bleep was Apple thinking...

Apple attempted to copy or simulate Androids excellent notification system and failed miserably.

Then there's the cartoon like childs play called iMessage with an obscene amount of emojis, random special effects to entertain the easily amused, and only impress the juvenile.

Apple _ has _ lost their way.

You've made a wise decision. iOS 10 is crap.

Messing with UIs is always tricky. Some of the changes might eventually make better sense. In the short term it's just a bunch of new crap I have to learn and deal with just to use my iPhone. It's almost like leveling up in a video game you don't really want to be playing - but have to .

Anybody else like the old "lock" sound better than the new weird "click"? It almost sounds like something breaks inside my iPhone every time I lock it o_O:D.

ON a SE it's a disappointment. Apple has done pretty bad job of making the OS look decent on a small screen.

UX/UI of the messaging app needs work too. The top bar which shows the name of the person you are talking to occupies TOO much space for a small display.

The notifications look bad and childish. They belong on a $50 tablet not on an Apple product and which idiot thought taking away the option to sort notifications by app would be a good idea?

The lock screen when music is playing looks bad with the big fonts.

On the iPhone 7, iOS 10 looks okay, my complaints with notifications,iMessage and other things I mentioned still stand though.

Slide to unlock was so much better than what we have right now.

For first time 9 years, I feel like moving to Android, only if they had one flagship phone that could run stock android and was <5inch in size. Maybe the upcoming pixel? Either way my iPhone 7 is going back as of now and decide whether to buy an iPhone or jump ship to android once the pixel phones come out.

The reason why I don't like the idea of having to use the fingerprint to unlock is that the technology, at least on my iPhone 6 and iPad, rarely works - so I'll have to do an extra step t open the lock screen. And as you say, why mess with something that works perfectly well? But then, they've been doing that to iTunes and now the phone jack, so we can expect more "New Coke" not less.

Swipe to unlock is redundant if you are using touch-ID.

I love it. Can't wait till developers start implementing creative notification interactions.

I was nervous that it would be running slow on my iPad Mini 3.. However, I've been quite impressed. It feels a lot smoother than iOS 9.3.5 did.

iOS 10 runs amazingly on the iPhone SE.

Do I understand it correctly that default notifications allow you to interact/use Apps without having to log in through touch ID or a passcode? Seems kinda like a security concern. Anybody who picked up your device would be able to respond to messages, etc....
