No. I do like a number of things with iOS10 but the missing feature that kills it for me is the lack of ratings in the music app. As a result I am going to restore to iOS9.

That's another thing, they ain't getting my fingerprints. That one is perverse.
yeah that's not how it works. And them having your fingerprints doesn't really change anything. Government already has your fingerprint anyways.

Except that Apple isn't. Your fingerprint resides as a bunch of encrypted unique identifiers in the secure element of the processors. At no time is there an actual copy of your fingerprint captured or stored anywhere on your phone.

And you believe this because...?

So you expect me to trust Mega Corp.? A company that doesn't pay its taxes in Europe? Let me think about that...No.

Do I understand it correctly that default notifications allow you to interact/use Apps without having to log in through touch ID or a passcode? Seems kinda like a security concern. Anybody who picked up your device would be able to respond to messages, etc....

I think there's are levels of notification on the lock screen.

General pop up. Then to actually see the preview you have to unlock which is where I think developers can add the option of user interaction/input. Then to actually open the phone you have to press the home button which I think is also configurable.

I simply refuse to install it now that they've done away with the swipe to unlock. I find it ridiculous in this day and age that they'd remove a fundamental iPhone experience which has been there forever. What is it with Apple first the horrendous flaw in the iPhone 7 hardware and now this? They've really lost their way, Apple.
yes I am holding off updating my wife's phone, regret updating mine.

Yep. Loves Raise to Wake. It is so much better even on iPad.
Only thing I'm a bit disappointed is I couldn't find a way to easily Love a song like in iOS 9.

animation is horrible on my air2. it feels cheap - you can actually see the background pixelated when opening/closing the folder. looks like a crap.

why cant i select which page i would like to see when wiping down. now i always see the pretty useless notification page but would like to see the "widget" page which could be handy.

Control center has huge buttons and on the main page there are buttons that i rarely use if ever - are those buttons done for elephants? now i need to swipe to get access to music controls (music/vids). which controls i need and use most of the time? controlling music or that night shift switch for example???

I fixed it for you, Apple, in 5min... that your designer couldnt do. i only ask 1billion for this fix. and it is only 1/14 of the money you didnt pay for ireland.

I feel the same way. I upgraded to iOS 10 and then went back to iOS 9 the next day. My iPhone 6 was real laggy and slow and I the new way to unlock the phone. I have never used passcodes or Touch ID and I tried it with iOS 10 and it was way slower than slide to unlock. And the loss of the headphone jack is a deal breaker for me because that's the only way I can listen to music in my car and charge my phone. Also the only way i can listen to music in my shop when working. So for now I'm sticking with my iPhone 6 running iOS 9.

Same here. They dumbed down the Music app. No stars, no like button on lock screen, they even removed the play history for god's sake! Why? I'm going back to iOS 9.3.5.

What's the flaw with the 7? Hadn't heard...

Yes, though I acknowledge that there is room for improvements.

I did not like that the control center moved the music controls to a separate card, because that adds another step to access music if I'm in another app.

I'm also not a fan of the deletion of Swipe to Unlock, particularly because I don't have a TouchID enabled device.

Running amazingly smooth on my 6 plus and iPad Air. So for that I'm loving the update.

And I feel notifications look neater. So it works for me.

In contrast to previous iOS updates, iOS 10 has really made my 2 year old 6+ feel faster than before. I'm not sure if it's just the quicker animations, but as others have pointed out, it makes keeping it for another year less of a concern.

So far I'm very happy with iOS 10.

It also runs really well on my iPad Air 2. That iPad is really proving to have longevity.

I'm whatever about it... It runs fast.. Cool. I expect my i7 to do run fast.. The messages being sent with those animation.. Not going to be used often, at all. Period. Music app is trash, again.. I still don't understand it. And Apple's decision on a few stuff.

Overall, what am I missing? I doesn't do anything special from what i can tell.

If that's how you feel then you shouldn't own any apple products.

How can you justify owning products that you suspect are spying on you in unknown ways?

That's inconceivable to me that you're ok with that. I'd sell them all if I thought that.

New imessages, more 3d touch interactions, "faster", flip to turn on screen, additional layer of interactions with notifications without having to actually launch an app.

I guess those aren't surface level impressive but more of an overall user experience improvement.

Rich notifications could potentially increase battery life if it makes it so we don't have to unlock the phone and actually launch an app any more

Mixed bag, I like some of the new features but I'm not a fan of the music app, I'll survive it and it's useable but I liked the iOS 9 music app more. I go back and forth on the visual design pieces. I certainly liked control centre better in iOS 7-9

It's too early for me to say weather I like or dislike iOS 10 but I believe it's definitely not intuitive as the previous versions. I've been googling how do I this and how do I that for the past few days now.

I have no issues with change and adaptation, I just like the experience being a bit more smoother and logical.

My battery use is wonky, but overall it's OK. Some good tweaks here and there but some weird UI details that make it seem much less polished than it could be.

There's some crap I'd really like to turn off (live camera everytime I want to text a photo?).

And I wonder if the part-time design intern that came up with the lock screen notification look is happy.

Lol, Ned Ludd... is that you????! =P

I hope you actually realize that "they" (whoever that is, in your mind)... don't "get your fingerprints" when you use you TouchID. Your fingerprint isn't even used at all. There is no way to reverse engineer a fingerprint from an iPhone. Period. It TEMPORARILY stores certain patterns that exist on your fingerprint to the secure enclave until the device is turned off, not used for a few days, etc.
This is all done locally on your device.... so, unless you believe that tiny creatures reside in your iPhone; who exactly is it that "ain't getting your fingerprints"?

And you don't believe it because...just because basically? Well, that's certainly your personal prerogative, it just doesn't really change anything for anyone else, or reality itself.

Since iOS10 I have finally found time to make an account. So far so good with this new update. Even prompted a friend with a 6+ to update and he seemed a little flustered but, he is more of an Andriod guy anyway.

I do like the swipe to the camera like my old Samsung phone had as I use my 6S+ camera a lot for Video.

The only thing I wonder about is the movement waking the screen. Does it do this in my pocket or what? Kind of makes me nervous that it would wind up taxing the battery a bit more?
