Is it me, or the timer can only countdown in minutes? No way to adjust this to seconds? or Minutes + seconds?

Can only do minutes if you set it on the screen but you can do it to minutes and seconds by asking Siri to set it.

How do you get a incoming callers picture to take up the whole screen like in the Apple ads (See pic) instead on the picture just being in a tiny circle like it is on the favorites tab?

I think it needs to be set from a photo on the phone rather than elsewhere and synced but i'm not sure about that.

I also think it cant be done at all if you sync contacts from Google or something like that.

You have to set the photo natively through the iPhone, either in the Phone (-->Contacts) or Contacts apps.

Background App Refresh

I don't quite understand how background app refresh is supposed to work.

Does the app need to be open for this refreshing to take place? Or is it going to happen even when the app is (As in quitted; swiped up out of the multitasking) closed? How often does the refreshing take place?

I searched it up a bit, and apparently this has actually been a feature for a long time now, and we've just now got the ability to take some control over it.

I've noticed that WhatsApp messages have downloaded in the background for me, but I had the idea it had 15 minutes of background running time and after that, it would only get back online when you reopen WhatsApp.

Iphone 4s GPP SIM 6.1.3 StraightTalk

Switched my verizon iphone 4s to StraightTalk using the GPP sim on IOS 6.1.3 at the end of August.. I am wanting to update to IOS 7. In doing research I am reading that others have been able to update to IOS 7 using existing GPP by either installing a patch or by resetting the SIM PIN.. Wanted to verify that they were using the GPP 6.1.3 when they updated to IOS 7 before I update. Thank you for your help!!

I have been running the beta version for a few month and getting the updates regularly. Now that the public version is out I have not seen any new releases. I am at 7.0 is there a newer version and do I have to do anything special to get the updates now?
7.0.2 is out. You might want to upgrade soon as the latest betas will expire within the first few days of October.

I made a separate thread, but will post in here too because it's annoying me. When my wife sees my phone listed in AirDrop (on her phone), the name it states is hers. Why is this?

To review: We have separate unique iCloud accounts, which are signed into. In our Contact info everything is different, including all email addresses listed. Find My Phone lists my iPhone's correct name/owner. The only thing we share is my Apple ID (for downloading apps and such), which is also has my name all over it (it's my account).

So, why can't AirDrop on my wife's phone identify my phone correctly?

Ask a stupid question??? SURE! I'm up for that...

Question: Why is my perfectly working iPhone not able to to use most or all of the APPS?(Valid Details: I own a perfectly working iPhone 3G)

Why can't it? What happens when you try to get them and/or use them?

Was re Safari Cache now called Data:

Thank you!

While I've "got your ear," also re newer/newest Safari: can we STILL view 8-browser windows "SIDE-by-SIDE" as in older iOS's? (Or is everything now "Tabs" only?)
Not side by side, but not limited to only 8. ...scroll through all the open tabs and there are your open iCloud tabs. Click on X in corner or slide to delete tabs.

Anyone know how I can change my payment info within iCloud?

I have gone to iCloud.com and signed in but there are no options to manage payment info? Also, when I look at the support pages, it says I can do this from a Windows pc by downloading the iCloud Control Panel, however, I don't really want to go down this route as I am currently using a work pc and I really don't want my iPhone 5 accidentally syncing to this pc if I download the control panel!!

I am sure there used to be an option on the website somewhere but cannot find it anywhere....?!
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID: xxx>View Apple ID>Payment Information

Was re: Safari having 8-pages opened next to each other, as in 3Gs iOS 3+, like papers side-by-side on a desk:

Thank you, benji888, for being so helpful to so many of the questioners in this thread re all the little things, self includrd.

Re that Safari Q, so it is all Tabs-Only now with NO way to "spread the pages out side-by-side"? That's terrible. If Apple wanted to "add a feature" (ie, Tabs), fine. But why REMOVE the ability to view all open browser windows in the former side-by-side view? Tabs-usage should be an Option, not the Only-Option.

In which iOS version did Apple remove Ability to view Safari windows spread out side-by-side? Ios4? Ios5? Ios6?

Thanks again.

Try a different image. It might be because It's blurring the black part and turning it to grey.

That's exactly what it's doing because you can see a star under the dock.

Hello.

Here is my stupid question.

Since 7.0.2 my iPhone is more buggy, but specifically, the iTunes Store just refuses to open, crashing immediately every time.

Is this a known problem?

This happened to me during the betas. Go to safari and google something in the iTunes store so it brings you a link to the app. When it opens the app, you'll likely find it doesn't crash. You'll also probably be able to navigate the store. Now, my issue had something to do with search because after I would tap the search tab it would crash again. So I repeated the process and immediately following it switching to the search bar tap the 'x' repeatedly to clear the field so it doesn't try to refresh the last search page.

Funky sounding, I know. But this always worked for me. And I don't know why it happens. Since the GM, I haven't had issues, though.

Same reason your cassettes wouldn't work in your CD player even though they still worked fine. The 3G and 5S are both phones made by Apple, but they're entirely different devices.

And even if they did release iOS 7 on the 3G people would be bitching about how sluggish their device was. That phone is five years old. With the rapid pace that technology evolves, did you honestly expect it to be supported for this long?

I agree with the other member who posted you. I'd upgrade immediately before the beta expires.

Factory settings

When restored an Iphone to factory settings, all the info is delete, included the icloud´s credentials or I will need it to activate the iphone again?
