I got burned with the 7+ and decided to never order from Apple again. AT&T did well last year and everything is on schedule so far this year. Even the Best Buy crew that ordered today are picking up tomorrow!
Interesting that not many seem to be going for the 512GB, I think 256 is perfect for most people, hell the most space I’ve used on mine is from offline music, I have about 70GB downloaded, and another 20 or so for my Photo Library. So total I’m only using half the space of my 256GB iPhone 8. I don’t see myself needing more than that for a looooong time.

And just like that everyone that ordered through Apple is now freaking out because UPS is saying many of their phones may not be delivered till Monday. I have a feeling, just like many people worrying here, that it’s just a glitch in computer systems, but it just shows no matter who you pick to buy from during preorder you’re always taking a gamble.
My AT&T story,
Stayed up to preorder my devices, got in early and placed my order before 2:59 am. Ordered a 256 Gold Xs Max and a 44mm S4 watch of course received launch day delivery time. Around 10:30 am on 9/14 received an email saying there is a balance due on the account and it needed to be corrected before they ship or cancel my order.
I immediately called them to figure out the problem as I had a zero balance on the account. Spent over an hour on the phone trying to get that resolved. Finally, she said that there is no balance and the order was fine to go through. Still keeping my delivery date of 9/21 on both items. Well my phone shipped out this morning and on track for delivery tomorrow. The bad news is that I just received an email from AT&T saying my watch ship date has changed from 9/20 to 9/21-9/25 meaning I may not get my watch until middle of next week! It sucks since earlier this week the exact same watch still had a delivery date of 9/21.
Has anyone else received this email also?
Finally got an update on my order. Long story short, both orders were cancelled by the fraud department with no reason. My second resubmitted order still says "In progress" on AT&T, but in the notes of the order it said it was cancelled. Called the fraud department to clear up an issues. Literally took 2 seconds. Asked what caused the alert. Was told that unfortunately it was a "glitch" most likely due to a system issues will everyone ordering. I talked to a rep and asked since that this was an issue on their end and both orders were cancelled without me knowing, could they reserve one for me at a store. I was told that "wasn't a problem" and the rep took the info of my local store and add it to a note in my order. I went to my local AT&T store and was pretty much told in no uncertain terms that the rep had no idea what they were doing and they don't reserve phones like that. Called the customer care line back trying to cancel the order and was planning on ordering through Apple or Best Buy. Was told my order was now tied to a store and had to go in and either purchase a phone, preorder/order a phone, or cancel it there. Also, to possible prevent another fraud alert, bring two forms of ID. I am going to go first thing tomorrow morning and hopefully some will available for purchase. If not, I might just resubmit the order. Hopefully your solution is much simpler.

I called FedEx today and was told it was up to the driver if a signature was required or not. The person on the phone told me this was because they know their routes and if its safe or not to leave a package without signature. I was also told the signature release form only works if you have a house-it wouldn't be honored at an apartment building. I ended up talking to our area FedEx facility in person and arranged to have my phone delivered to the place in our town where FedEx packages can be held as I couldn't be home to sign for it. I can pick it up there later tomorrow.So just to clarify we don’t have to sign for our fed ex delivery? Do we? Or should we print out the sheet of paper that says it’s okay for them to leave it in front of our doors?

Mines there too! Up in Lancaster. Hoping it comes early. FedEx is unfamiliar and can come in between 12 and 6. Thankfully it isn’t ups. In all the neighborhoods I’ve lived, it’s always been 6:30-7:30 PM.Mine is in Burbank Ca! I work tomorrow but my FedEx guy usually comes in the afternoon. Just hope he doesn’t wait too long. Or hoping he comes earlier and someone is home.
