Wrong, not even close. I have 3 lines on T-Mobile got $120 with unlimited talk text and unlimited LTE. On T-Mobile your always covered you can even roaming ATT network for free. With 2Gb of data a month you can't even watch the apple keynote.

U can't do this on att

Do you ever put your phone down??? :)

Yeah, 2gb isn't bad at all. There have been a few months where I have been under that, and that's with my unlimited plan.

Mr. "I'm in the industry," I'm still waiting on your sources for TMobile roaming... When can I expect it.

3x4 = 12gb a month. Still a far-cry from the 60+ gigs, you love to brag about.
its on wiki. I have posted this agreement on MR before.

Only thing I'm wondering is if we will be able to use Hotspot with this plan, guess will have to test and report back as half you are just busy talking smack lol

It's definitely cheaper to go prepaid. The only concern I have is if they will throttle prepaid users on LTE.

WRAP UP
So in reality, you're saving about $200 a year if you go prepaid and get a new iPhone every year. Now, if you use the default 2GB data plan at $60 on the prepaid, you're saving an extra $120 a year so you can deduct that (and it will be cheaper prepaid starting year 1)

Now, if you stick with an iPhone every 2 years? It almost makes no sense to stick to post paid.

2 years of prepaid is $1680 (or $1440 with 2GB data) whereas 2 years postpaid is $2400 (+ upgrade fees).

At the end of the day, is the convenience of postpaid worth it to you?

Thanks for the breakdown. Great post btw. Reason I am debating still too is like you said, will they throttle LTE speeds, plus I'm gonna lose my unlimited data, it seems like prepaid has only 3gb max. I'm all after the fact about intl texting on the go phone which is included with the plan. So it's a matter of keeping which, which is driving me nuts as to why they can't offer that in postpaid too.

Can you pls let us know about the hotspot feature if it works or not? I'm looking for that too, but doesnt say anywhere on the T&C unless I missed it.

MetroPCS really doesnt have much native coverage at all. I don't see how this will help TMobile expand their network. It will merely let them run a wider LTE channel in areas where they are fine anyways...

even worse coverage than TMo

Here in Seattle if I do a carrier search, something like 311-660 ( I don't think that's the exact number) but I did ask on Howard's forum what that is and its metro pcs network which kinda proves tmobile is expanding metro pcs coverage

As you said, MetroPCS does have coverage in major cities, However as we all know MetroPCS take over is only going to help T-Mobile so much as it TOO runs on 1700AWS which has lower building penetration.

It will help T-Mobile in other ways though because more towers = Faster, Stronger reception out doors and which will result in higher/faster Download/Upload speeds. Keep in mind T-Mobile almost needs 2x the towers in to cover same area vs AT&T.

If T-Mobile wants to move up to the 3rd Largest carrier, they are going to need some lower MHz spectrum which i doubt they will get anytime soon.

Note: because T-Mobile merger with AT&T did not fall through, FCC granted that T-Mobile customers be allowed to Roam FREELY on AT&T, but that doesnt mean you will get to use LTE....also if you roam so much on AT&T, T-Mobile may just ask you to leave as AT&T will not tolerate a T-Mobile customer roaming on its towers all the time.

this isnt exactly the arguing thread guys...you all are just pointing fingers at each others and not getting anywhere....

anyway this plan is great for people like me who are on Straight Talk (AT&T SIM) and pay $45+tax/month....roughly $50/month

What I plan to do:

Ditch Straight Talk (AT&T SIM) and go with AT&T GoPhone Prepaid $60/month.

Refill from Callingmart or eBay and save $10-$20/month from $60 and pay about $40-$50/month with access to LTE and International Texting. 2GB is great for people like me who dont tether much. Right now I stream music 2-3times a week, drive 20-40 miles weekly with Google maps GPS on, and do all my emailing, browsing etc on my phone daily and use roughly 700MB-1.3GB/Month.

So people who have usage like mine, this is a great deal!

Not to mention I cannot leave AT&T because of T-Mobile extremely spotty coverage along Interstate highways and I can never be without my phone stuck on "o" even for 15mins...If I'm paying for a phone service no matter how less I'm paying, it needs to give me better than "E" on my most frequently travel routs/locations and that only AT&T gives for me.

EDIT: I use WiFi where ever I can get it if its fast enough for my things I'm doing like at home I have a 27Mbps Connection with that I never have to use my Cellular Data.

How are you getting $40 to $50 for a month? I'm looking at callingmart and even $100 worth of card still costs $95. $60 is $57.60. Are there any other discounts that you know of?

I experienced this last weekend. I went to northern Wisconsin and caught off guard when my iPhone suddently showed AT&T in stead of T-Mobile at the to so I can confrim this has happened to me.

Callingmart usually have discounts 10% off almost once a month, just gotta look out for it.

You can easily find Refills on eBay from high feedback sellers for $40-$50

btw callingmart hasnt even added the $60 plan yet....

Cool, good stuff. I'm going to keep track of them on facebook.

How do you get this plan with an existing phone? Will they just give you the sim card or do you need to buy a handset with it?

I currently have an iphone 4 which I am planning to replace with an unlocked iphone 5 and this plan would be perfect for me.

Wrong again. Att allows T-Mobile customers to roam over HSPA +

why would anyone want to use H2O, Red Pocket, Straight Talk etc with AT&T giving 4G + LTE access for just $60 with 2GB a month?

Because in my area, at least, Straight Talk is using AT&T's towers for their service. So I get their coverage.

Unlimited talk + Unlimited text + Calling + 'unlimited' data (never been capped yet) for $45.

Why spend $15 more for 2GB of 4G?

Will be paying $5-$10 more/month. Your lucky you have the Straight Talk AT&T SIM, straight talk no longer sells those so all new users are now on T-Mobile network.

sites like callingmart always have discounts so definitely can score $60 plan for at least $50/month, Last month I refilled Straight talk through them and ended up paying just about $50 it was like $49.xx....so for me its worth it, not to mention having a iPhone 5 if i can get LTE access....why not...its included in the GoPhone plans

T-Mobile's 100 min/unlimited text/unlimited data -- 5 GB up to 4G speeds is still the way to go

$649 + $30 (12) = $1009 first year
$749 + $30 (12) = $1109 first year
$849 + $30 (12) = $1209 first year

$360 per any additional year + any + $ if you decide to sell your iphone

Most people actually need minutes.

So now that the AT&T GoPhone plans are official, whose switching over?

Are you sure these plans are available for iPhones? Cuz when I went to "Shop Prepaid Phones" and filtered for iOS, I got this:
