Is there a faster way to get the iPhone pro max on AT!&T than ordering it through them?
Other retailers might have them. Assuming that you are in the US, places like Best Buy, Wal-Mart, etc might have them in stock from time to time. It Is a very hit or miss proposition, though. I ordered my daughter a PB 12 Pro from AT&T last week after checking all of the delivery times from other sellers including Apple. AT&T offered the fastest delivery time (week of Xmas). It wasn’t 3 days later that Best Buy had them in stock for immediate delivery.

I ordered from Att and then decided I didn’t want to wait... cancelled my order and got one from Best Buy...it came two weeks earlier...

you can check stock for Best Buy, Target, and Apple on their respective websites

Believe it or not my iPhone 12 Pro, Pacific Blue, was shipped from China to Cary NC in 3 days which I would considered fantastic!!

I have a PB Pro on order that I am hoping to get by Xmas. What was your order date, if you don’t mind me asking?

I ordered a PB Pro on 11/29 with a delivery range of 12/21-12/29. The order is showing “in progress”.

Yup. Mine too. I remember waiting a few weeks for my X and Jet Black 7+ but I’ve never seen a wait time more than a month out like this.

Guess we got the ‘rona to thank for that huh?

PSA: If you are upgrading thru AT&T and are trading in an older phone with them, DO NOT send it back in the box (and enclosed label) that the new phone came in. Wait for the separate trade-in mailer, or better yet, call them and have them email you the UPS label to use to send it back for trade.

I ordered my iPhone 12 max pro today with a estimated delivery date of Dec 14-16. What’s the likelihood of me actually receiving it by then? Anyone have a guess?

Hmmm... I’ve done this several times in the past and never had a problem. Is there something going on now with this particular method?

I didn't do this, but I heard that the label that comes with the new phone is for Returns (as in to return the phone if you didn't decide to keep it) and so if you do that, your old phone doesn't go to the trade-in department and will most likely get lost.. or get an entirely different phone back (is what I read happen to someone in the forum)..

Very interesting. Yes I’ve been doing it this way for years. You get the new phone and inside the box is a flyer and a return label. You reseal the box with the old phone inside and affix the label over the top of the previous one. I believe the label they give you is supposed to go to the place they send traded-in phones, since AT&T knows ahead of time you’re doing a trade and they want their phone back. The flyer even tells you to do exactly this, right?

I have never received a “second“ box, like ever.

But I can certainly see the potential for some wackiness on AT&T’s part. Not to mention the USPS is outta control these days so there’s a lot more risk this time.

No, don't use the new phone box and return label. The trade-in process is different. Read the email about the trade in instructions. If you don't get the mailer for the trade-in after 7-10 days, call CS and they can process the trade and send you a UPS label (preferred way imo, sent back in a box and not using USPS).

The CS agent I worked with yesterday said about 85% have sent the trades back in the wrong box. About 50% of the time you don't get a trade-in kit. Her 2 phone upgrades did not get the kits. Just call them for the trade processing and UPS label.
