That is a pretty absurd cap. Pure greed

Just like how att home internet is a joke and more expensive than twc but so much less bandwidth at the same
Time. Like 20 down and a contract haha
 
AT&T just gave me $10 a month discount credit for the life of my account as long as I keep it on the unlimited plus. It was the loyalty department. Didn't even ask, they just offered it with me dealing with another issue with AT&T unrelated to the iPHone X.

I can confirm that this deal still work.

I started the Chat session, directly ask to transfer to Loyalty Dept. After about 20 mins of wait time, I asked for iphone X upgrade for 1 of my family line.

the rep offered $549 for 64GB and $699 for 256 IPX.

required me to change family plan to Unlimited choice of $85 month plus $20 per line ( have 4 lines) = $165. BUT this will take away my National Discount of $17 per month that i current have.

in the end - i said NO thanks.

THERE IS NO SAVINGS BTW -- IN 2 YEARS TIME, IT'S THE SAME IN MY CASE. BEYOND 2 YEARS, I'LL BE PAYING MORE BECAUSE I LOSE MY DISCOUNT.

Probably already been mentioned but check your bills!

I was told no activation feee and got whacked with one

A quick 611 call remedied it tho

yeah i got the activation fee charged as well. talked to them and got it refunded!

BTW anyone successful in getting the phone unlocked?

curious of this too, even tho still no use for it for now.

so glad my bill didn't at all go up that activation fee aside.

I really am not paying any more than the amount I would for service anyways, just committed to them for a little bit - not a problem.

on a family plan, $60/line it comes out to for unlimited voice text and data and tethering.

Good luck finding that prepaid, much less on the best carrier (even an MVNO) in my town
 
tried to get the phone unlocked but no dice. it shows as financed. Im assuming after the 2 year expires it will be eligible. sucks

How did you try to get the phone unlocked?

ATT direct/ Ebay?

If the former def wouldn't work.

If the latter, I think you need to pay like the $100+ tier of unlock ("guarantee in contract unlock" or something) for it to work

yeah i tried the ATT unlock. i found some ebay ones but they were expensive around 160-180$. i chose not to get it unlocked!

tried ATT unlock. i wasnt gonna pay $100 or so to unlock a phone that i own and should be unlocked to begin with. my 2 cents
 
There’s one that has 40-60% success rate and $30 and refunds if it doesn’t work out on fleabay

That seems fair

Says it covers in contract phones so..

If I were in a bind I’d prolly give that a try

yeah I don't have any need for an unlock anyways to be honest, and probably won't even after contract is up but

good to know

if I ever *have* to switch carriers, I'd be in a position where I pay ETF and then just get it unlocked the real way.

yeah i am gonna do the same. i dont even use the 8 Plus which i got on contract. i opened it and powered it on once. i might give it to my sister in law but for that i have to get it unlocked!

Got a friend that can test drive it for a week on another at&t account?

that seems like a weird requirement for the unlock but Im seeing that come up frequently on eBay
