Is that per line? So my AT&T is still cheaper.
For a single line, the unlimited plan is $65 with line access fee of $20 (or $40 if line is in contract), minus $5 autopay discount.

For shared/family account, the unlimited plan is $110 with each line access fee of $20 (or $40 if line is in contract), minus $10 autopay discount.

No corporate discounts apply aside from military/veteran discounts (and a few government ones it seems).

So I think if I'm adding correctly...my bill with AT&T is still cheaper. Just looked at AT&T bill just now and it is about $140 for the 2 lines with unlimited. Verizon would be about $150?

Without autopay discount it would be $150 for 2 lines, with autopay discount it's $140. That's not counting some corporate discounts if they might apply, or taxes and fees which would be in addition.

Ok, so looking like really no savings. I get the 17% discount through ATT for being a government employee. And I have the UDP. So not sure what VZW could offer that's better?? I'm always up for a good deal of course!! Also, on the VZW website it shows my phone not even being compatible with their network?! I have the 7+ on the IUP....hmmm

You would get 10GB of tethering per line.
With AT&T there's no tethering included. And you're correct, your AT&T 7+ will not work on Verizon.

I'm sorry, not to sound like a moron but I don't totally understand tethering. So that means for instance, we have an iPad with wifi only. We could use our iPad on the internet now (when not at home of course) and use the data from our phone?

And if I were to switch to VZW I have to get a new phone? I thought the iPhones on the IUP were unlocked and can be used on any carrier?

Yes, that's an example of tethering or using a mobile hotspot basically.

As for phones, it's not so much about being locked or unlocked, but if your phone supports the necessary technology. In case of Verizon and Sprint (and a few other carriers around the world) they still use CDMA for calls/texts in addition to LTE, while AT&T and T-Mobile (and many other carriers around the world) use GSM in addition to LTE. Some phones support both CDMA and GSM, in addition to LTE, while others, like the iPhone 7+ that you have, only support GSM in addition to LTE, so they won't work on a carrier that uses CDMA.

Correct.
You can use your own personal hotspot and have other devices connect like iPads, laptops etc...
The iup phone you got is unlocked for any gsm carrier in the world.
Will not work with Verizon or Sprint though.
So it will not be an easy switch and for not that much to gain. And with taxes and without the discount you're getting now it might be more expensive.

Ok makes sense now. That is super bummer that say I want to explore switching that I can't. I thought the a key thing people liked (including me) was not being tied to a carrier and being able to switch carriers.

I hear you.
With the iPhone 6 and 6S that wasn't a problem.
With the i7 we're back to square one with separate devices for cdma and GSM carriers.

Well poop, there went that idea!!!
Check the Verizon CS Twitter feed. One of the reps just offered a guy a free i7 if he would come back to VZW. He said he and his wife lease with Sprint and asked if they could help with the fees. He is waiting for a reply. I bet the VZW people can help you out.

Would be super nice if VZW would have a live chat available. Have yet to ever be able to find it :/. Nearest VZW store is 30 min away

VZW has live chat available on their site. Click on the contact us option at the top of the page. It will bring up a chat window that is automated to help with answering questions. I usually type something vague and then you should see the live chat option link in the window etc. You can also call them at 800-922-0204

I am curious about how AT&T responds too. I'm on their service at the moment and am quite happy with the service and rate that we pay each month. It's currently $130 for 32GB (started with 30 GB but they added two extra) with roll over data and hot spot tethering, and $15 per line (we have two lines) which totals to $160 per month for two lines. Coupled with my corporate discount of 23%, we pay a little over $144 per month after all taxes and fees. I've been looking for similar rates elsewhere and it's always been almost twice as expensive. We were lucky to get this service when they ran a promotion three years ago essentially doubling the data they were giving for the same price (we got 30GB for the 15GB monthly rate) and they were charging $15 per line.

If they come back with an unlimited plan, I'm still not sure it'll be worth it. 32GB with roll over is a lot of data to go through each month! At least for us.

Nope, I've tried all that and cannot get connected to anyone live. I've tried multiple times over several weeks.

32GB per month for 2 lines is not a lot of data. And roll over data on AT&T is only good for 1 month and then you lose it.
If you can get unlimited data for 2 lines with 20GB's of personal hotspot for $140 then that is a great deal and you never have to worry about data overages.
You can stream video all day with zero cares...

Are you using Windows?

1) Click on contact us. Once you do, you will see this...
2. Type in 'sign up' or something vague. When you do, the chat window will pop up
3. type in vague phrase again. Keep it brief
4. You should see a small link for live chat in the window.

You can also call (800) 256-4646 to talk to a sales rep about signing up.

Yea this is a virtual chat, not a live chat with a person. This virtual chat does zero for me.
[doublepost=1487049258][/doublepost]They want me to sign in to MyVerizon in order to LIVE CHAT. How is someone supposed to do that if they aren't a customer? They aren't making a good impression on me so far...

Seriously? Thats it?

Im not in a rush to switch,
You answered it yourself. You are not switching right away. If you were calling to close your accounts completely, the AT&T rep's playbook might tell different things.

Yes they can. They have a free phone promo going right now along with the Unlimited announcement. They're offering a $650 credit with a trade-in.
