Yea this is a virtual chat, not a live chat with a person. This virtual chat does zero for me.
[doublepost=1487049258][/doublepost]They want me to sign in to MyVerizon in order to LIVE CHAT. How is someone supposed to do that if they aren't a customer? They aren't making a good impression on me so far...
I used it and it's not virtual. I said I don't have an account yet and the person helped me with my questions. Didn't seem to be fake.

32GB per month for 2 lines is not a lot of data. And roll over data on AT&T is only good for 1 month and then you lose it.
If you can get unlimited data for 2 lines with 20GB's of personal hotspot for $140 then that is a great deal and you never have to worry about data overages.
You can stream video all day with zero cares...

We average around 7GB per month on both our lines (mostly on Wifi at home and in the office). And my average roll over each month is around 23GB. So each month we have around 50GB with none of the stream saver bs. Most unlimited plans start capping speeds after 22GB (I believe?). I am not sure if they will cap mine since I pay for 30GB. So still not sure what to do! Going to wait and see how AT&T responds for sure!

I called At&t this morning to "gather" some information from them such as my account number and the basic information about what happens to my account after I switch carriers. I casually mentioned that Verizon's new unlimited data plan was appealing and offered the ability to use a hotspot with 10gb of data.

I have At&t's unlimited plan with directv. I do not use the TV service as it was a way to get my 10 line plan cheaper. As I am consistently on the go, not having mobile hotspot has significantly impacted my productivity and is an important feature to have for me. I have been with At&t the better part of 10 years and have never had an issue with my account.

--

When I discussed my goals with the AT&T retention rep, they simply offered me a reduction in my monthly billing or a reduced mobile share plan with 100gb of data. This wouldn't work, we average about 150gb of data a month and getting people to use wifi has been a real b*tch (my brother consistently uses 60 himself). They also offered to cancel my directv service with a standard cancellation fee which would allow me to have unlimited data for 60 days. After which I would be downgraded to a mobile share plan.

Seriously? Thats it?

Im not in a rush to switch, ill give At&t a week or two to figure out their rebuttal. After all Verizon did just drop this out of no where. If at&t remains mum, ill visit the local Verizon retailer.

#5. Long Live Sprint SERO Plans I used 200GB last Month No Slow Down. With a Note 5 Tethered and Mobile. That's a lot.

Curious why you pay for 30GB of data when you use less than 15GB? You might be able to spend less and ask them for the 10GB Mobile Share Plan w/free 10GB Bonus, plus rollover. Every month, I pay for 10GB for 5 lines (a couple use no data..my mom and dad), and each month I wind up getting 30GB of data for the month (usage seems to come from Bonus data pool first, not paid-for data so I always have 10GB of rollover each month + 10GB Bonus +10GB plan data).

After looking at all these new unlimited plans, I'm still paying less for 5 lines and really never have to worry about running out.

With regards to capping, you do not get capped or depriortized or such since you are paying for your pool of data.

I just dumped my unlimited plan fir T-Mobile. The service isn't as good but I save $15 a month and since Verizon made the unlimited offer T-Mobile responded by giving me 10gigs of LTE tethering on top of unlimited everything for $70 a month. I'm happy.

Didn't want to wait to see what AT&T might do before going through the trouble of dumping them?

#3. Slow Down Once you pass a set Limit Your Data Speed is reduced
Your data speed may be reduced, if the tower is congested at that moment. The reduction ends when the congestion has passed.

Either way, I'd be going from a Mobile Share plan where 5 people share 20GB to a plan where each person gets their own 22GB before any possible throttling. Zero issues here.

SERO plan, huh? You're old. :p

So I think if I'm adding correctly...my bill with AT&T is still cheaper. Just looked at AT&T bill just now and it is about $140 for the 2 lines with unlimited. Verizon would be about $150?
Does the AT&T plan include tethering? The Verizon plan includes 10GB at LTE speeds.

You can always pick up the phone and call them too you know :D
Live chat is not the only option.

If you're averaging around 7GB with 2 lines per month then its not really worth it to switch to unlimited.
But you never know if your habits or situations will change in the future.
With unlimited you are 100% sure you will never pay any overages, with a set about of Data even with rollover if you or anyone starts streaming video or audio those GB's of data can go pretty fast.
My kids burn through 1GB of data in less than an hour watching netflix or youtube.
So in the end its up to you and what you think will work best for you.

Not entirely correct - spoke twice to VZW rep and confirmed: 22GB limit is not per line, but whom ever reaches first. So, I have 4 lines-if my daughter eats up a 22GB -everyone gets throttled. Although rep said it's very rare to happen. Also, got offered to waive a $30 per line activation fee.

If this is true, then this changes things a bit.

I have 4 lines with AT&T- 3 are grandfathered unlimited. I personally am fine with the service, however, my wife can't get any reception at work in her building. Called att numerous times - no resolution, and now she's ready to leave.

You would get 10GB of tethering per line.
With AT&T there's no tethering included. And you're correct, your AT&T 7+ will not work on Verizon.

The Iphone 7plus will work with Verizon - I spent about 1 hour on the phone with Verizon, At&t and apple and it will work. The issue is you have to wait until March 4th to cancel your contract (if you are still on contract with them) and avoid ETF.

I think that AT&T will respond when many people on the grandfather UDP call them to cancel on March 4th. They stand to lose a lot of people who are grandfathered in and want the tethering.

I got told it was per line. Seems the reps have no clue.

I bet the AT&T grandfathered UDP plans WILL transfer to 5G - just as they did from edge to 3G and then to 4G!

Unfortunately it seems that some representatives aren't always correct, as is the case sometimes with anything. Based on fairly trusted Verizon insiders (agents, etc) in various places like Reddit and other similar forums that they frequent who generally essentially quote from the actual employee documents that Verizon puts out it seems that the whole deprioritization part applies on a per line basis.

That's what I would think also, but suggest anyone double-check before signing.

Just common-sense.

The AT&T or Tmobile 7 Plus do not have CDMA bands available so they will never work on Verizon or Sprint.
What model iphone 7 plus are you talking about?
The Apple factory unlocked iphone 7 plus will work with both CDMA and GSM carriers.

Yes,
I am referring to the 7 plus that I purchased through Apple's upgrade program. Reps at At&t and Apple said that my phone can be used at Verizon. I just have to wait until March 4th when Apple will let me out of my contract because they are raising the UDP price.

That's different.
That one you have should be fully unlocked and is CDMA capable. Can you go to settings/general/about and give me the model number listed there?
The one in question that I was referring to is an AT&T iPhone 7 and that will never work with Verizon.
