I'd be interested in buying one :) I actually have (I think) enough cash on hand right now! (based on what others have reported to be fair price in this thread)

Edit: Bought one off eBay!

Ordered a plan off eBay for $1300. I also bid on a Unite Pro but the auction doesnt end for 5 days so I doubt I'll win it.

Finally got my unlimited plan an Unite Pro hotspot! I love it so far but I have a few questions.

Is there a case for the Unit Pro that I can buy to block the led? The constant flashing LED drives me crazy

I know the plan works in the U.S., but is the unlimited data valid for international as well? Can I go to Canada or Mexico and still only pay $29.99/month?

Why does my device say there is a time limit? It says "Length: 16629d 14h 19m". Does that mean that the plan will be invalid in 45 years?

U.S. not North America. Use electrical tape to block the LED's?
So only domestic? Dang o_O

Electrical tape would look rather trashy. It has a silver band on the edge and the tape would stick out a lot. I guess I could cover the whole thing in tape? But I'd rather just get a case

It has been interesting to read this thread. I have the unlimited data plan that came with my preordered iPad back in 2010. I have moved it to three succeeding iPads (I am using an iPad Air 2 now) and I would not sell it for anything. I travel fairly often and having the capability of not using crappy hotel wifi is great. I also use my iPad for navigation when I drive and having unlimited data is a freeing experience. Knowing that I do not have to worry about data limits is wonderful.

I think someone has figured out how to generate new accounts even though they're no longer being sold normally.

I clicked "Notification History" at the bottom of my iPad Landing account page and noticed that the account said it was CREATED in February 2015 not long before the previous ower had it. The previous owner of my account said he bought it 5 months ago off ebay but decided to resell it.

The email originally used for it was an @yopmail.com account which means someone created the account with a throwaway email for the express purpose of selling it on ebay

I have no idea how this person managed to pull it off but it pisses me off that they're artificially inflating the price of these accounts in order to make a lot of money.

Here's the part of my notification history at the very bottom: (I redacted the sensitive information)

I said the same thing when i bought my plan. Its the same guy selling these freshly made accounts. You know greed is strong he might never stop making them until att catches him i just hope they dont close our accounts over this.

People are still hot for unlimited? I sold mine 2 years ago and haven't looked back. My wife and I are now on family sharing and managed to snag the 10gb>20gb upgrade when the CS managers were letting it slip though last year. With monthly rollover, we're now up to about 30gb a month for $150 between 4 devices, (including unlimited calling and texts) and we barely use half of that. Not saying some people don't use more, but if you have family, paying $30 a month for data only for a single device doesn't seem to make a lot of sense, at least not for non-video addicts.

I pay $30 a month for all my devices, which work off of a Unite hotspot. Just sitting in the iPad I don't think it would be worth it.

Does anyone else use this with a cradlepoint router? I have one and I can't get it working properly. It will show up and WIFI can be connected to and work for a few minutes, and then it gets shut off. I wonder if ATT is shutting down the data if it's connected to a router instead of in an iPad. The one in my Unite Pro 5G still works perfectly though. I use about 50GB a month on the Unite with no issues. Has anyone else experienced this or come up with a remedy for this situation before?

Hello all. I have a grandfathered AT&T unlimited monthly data plan. My iPad 4th generation suffered a screen crack and I was looking to replace or repair. As I was browsing my local Apple store, I realized that I am not using the iPad that much anymore - as compared to my new MacBook Pro, so why was I going to spend another 500-800 for a new iPad? (I haven/'t looked to see what a repair would cost.) My iPad still works though and this thread drove me into the settings menu where I see a set-up a personal hotspot under Cellular Data. This connects me to ATT's horrible website, where I have to log in to manage my account. Is there a separate charge under the ATT program for making your iPad a hotspot? If I go the Unite Pro route, how easy is it to transfer my unlimited plan? TIA, Mark

I would highly recommend just getting a Unite Pro hotspot. It is plug and play. You don't have to fill out any information on the device and the network automatically recognizes it and allows it act as a data plan with no qualms. Setting up a Hotspot through AT&T is a huge mistake in my opinion. Do not do it. They charge extra for a Hotspot feature and will likely ask you to give up your plan in order to do it. You should not deal with AT&T ever unless you absolutely have to.

Making the plan work on a Unite hotspot is as simple as removing the SIM from the iPad and placing it into the Unite hotspot.

Does anyone know how this plan treats roaming?
I used roaming on my plan 30 dollars -120Mb- no problem, ....BUT roaming plan ends after domestic one and domestic didn't want to auto renew because of this. I called CS and they fixed it. BTW the girl on the phone was really helpful.

No interest in one. The $10/month data match from T-Mobile is more than enough and I never am even close to touching the limit.

As far as I know, ATT still won't allow you to enable tethering on an unlimited iPad account. Which would save me from worries about going over my data limit on my phone plan.

Though if you move the SIM, people have reported success in other platforms that don't enforce the rules like iOS.

If I didn't want to worry about getting scammed, I would probably sell my unlimited iPad plan. I very rarely go over the limit (though I probably would if I had tethering).

I'll be using one of these iPad unlimited SIMs in an LG G2 (D800) for primary internet access. For those of you who have tethered with Android using this iPad plan, did you use any specific app or make sure you are using a VPN while tethering - or did you just tether normally while using this plan?

Still would like to know if anyone has run across the issue I asked about.... Running this SIM in a CradlePoint router. And it will get kicked from the network. I have 3 of these plans, 2 for phones using Google voice services and 1 for Unite Pro hotspot. I want to move the hotspot into a cradlepoint router because it is better for me to run my whole home internet off of. Has anyone done this with success or failure that they could shed some light upon the subject for me?

I'm debating buying one of these plans now that tmobile is cracking down on tethering on unlimited plans, but I have a question. What happens if you lose the SIM card? Is there a way to recover the account if you still know the email/password linked to it?

They should assign the account details over to you when you finish the purchase. You go to the AT&T store and get another one.

Basically you are able to get an email and password for your account. If you remember these things you would be able to sign into a new AT&T sim on any iPad. When you buy the account, change the email and password, after you're done changing the password, change it again. The previous email will get a notification of the new password the first time changing it, the second time it won't.

I would definitely be interested in buying one of these. If anyone is interested in selling their iPad unlimited data plan, let me know and we can negotiate cost and use a middle man of your choosing who is reputable.
