I have an unlimited grandfathered AT&T plan I've been planning to sell on eBay. If you're interested PM an offer to me!
It's the iPad plan. I've never really used it a ton, but never wanted to give it up. But over the past year I've used my iPad less and less and it just seems crazy to hold onto it. I got the free tmobile plan for 200mb of data for those times when I need cellular and the majority of the time I have access to wifi so I've been contemplating selling it for the past year or more. Was browsing the iPad forum for speculation on whether the next iPad would incorporate 3D Touch and found this thread. Maybe it's a sign that it's time to get rid of it finally! Is it the ipad plan or just a regular grandfathered phone plan?
OK, I have an older iPad (iPad 4) that I've kept the unlimited plan on. I have an iPad Air 2 that is on my phone data plan ($10 month uses the pooled data)
How can I swap this so I have the unlimited on the new iPad and not risk losing it?
Aww man, I literally just paid $500 for one of those plans. Oh well, I need the unlimited.Verizon announced today they are raising the price of unlimited data plans to $49.99 (from $29.99) starting November 15th. The only plus is that grandfathered unlimited data customers can once again upgrade their line without losing the unlimited data plan.
It says they'll only do that if you're out of contract. I'll just extend my contract the second I get it activated so I'll be set for two years at $29.99.I just read about that Verizon unlimited plan price increase also. Shame on that company for bending consumers to their will. If they didn't intend to offer unlimited data at the price agreed to, then it should have been written into the contract.

For some reason, I'm feeling like the iPad unlimited att data plan is grottoes during the day... Chicagoland area and sometimes my iPhone 6s (also att) gets higher download speeds than the iPad on LTE.
I've come to the same conclusion. There is some throttling compared to my regular att go phone both running speedtest at the same site and time.
I have never seen any way to see historical usage. The implication is that there is no need to show that information since the plan is truly unlimited. It's been asked before... any way to look at your actual history/usage? I have the grandfathered iPad unlimited plan with ATT and use the landing page which has absolutely no info other than my number and old paid bills. Just curious because my families phones are all with Verizon and I'm guessing I could save $30 by adding an iPad to the family share on Verizon even if i increased data on the Verizon plan.
I go to settings/cellular on my iPad to check usage. I reset my iPad usage after receiving monthly renewal email.

I had gotten in on the "Free for life" T-Mobile plan that gives me 200MB free per month and I figure if I need more I'll buy it alacarte.I'm in the same boat as you, I have an unlimited plan that I admit I don't fully take advantage of yet I just can't bring myself to give it up or sell it with how restrictive plans are becoming and how data is easier to consume than ever. I will continue to hold on to it for now but every time I see the charge to my account I feel a little wasteful.
I've had the AT&T unlimited data plan since it was first offered in 2010. Some months I've used little data, some months, I've used a lot. I just see it as a regular monthly payment, like my car payment or my mortgage payment. The freedom of not having to be concerned about data usage is worth the cost. To paraphrase the credit card commercial, it's priceless.I had gotten in on the "Free for life" T-Mobile plan that gives me 200MB free per month and I figure if I need more I'll buy it alacarte.
How will you extend the contract? I have unlimited data on my Verizon phone, but it hasn't been under contract for a long time.
