Think I broke my previous monthly usages by quite a bit at 400gb.

I'm really bummed I didn't get this plan and get grandfathered in when I had the chance. Foolish and short-sighted error on my part.

Was this on an iPad or with a hotspot?

I've done between 50-80GB a mo on hotspot. 400 is impressive.

You can get one off eBay, they're spendy ($1000-$1200). I have two of them, use them on hotspots, generally 25-50GB per hotspot per month.

I use one of these plans as home internet, one plan as my wife's cellphone utilizing Google voice, and have a third plan that I've been thinking of renting out... I absolutely love having these plans!

Unite Pro Hotspot. It has two laptops, two tablets, two phones and one nexus tv connected most of the time. Recently I've been streaming HD more than usual, so that definitely drove me above the 250GB range I've been in.

Seems like the prices have been holding from $1100-1300 over the past couple months.

I was expecting a little bit of increased demand with the iPad Pro coming out, but it's been stable surprisingly.

The price usually gets up there when a network technology comes out such as 5G, or of course when its barely on eBay.

Right now in times like this where companies like T-Mobile are raising there unlimited data prices. It went from 70 to 80 then 95 (No annoucement) Then Verizon is going to raise there unlimited data plan by 20 dollars and then ATT is raising it by 5 dollars (Does not apply to the iPad plans, as of yet)

These plans are golden like a tell everyone, get them while there here because very soon there only a few left on eBay leading to every every now then which will then raise the price again on the plan.

I am thinking about selling mine. I don't use my iPad as much as I should, and it is just $30 I always forget is coming out of my account. If anyone has sold one or bought one, I would like to know more about the process as well.

T-mo change new plans only, Att and VZW changed for existing customers. This is the difference. That's why t-mo shouldn't announce, they just introduced new plan.

I would like to know the same. PM me please if you find out more or if there's someone else that knows more.

I can only speak to the method I've experienced. Basically the username and password on www.att.com/ipadlanding must be handed over after the completion of a sale. From there the buyer is able to change the email, and then the password via desktop/laptop and sign in with new credentials on their iPad to activate the plan (on their own sim card).

Before handing over the account information it is important to change the payment information to something temporary like a prepaid visa gift card so your card information isn't visible to the buyer. They can then add their own payment information during the credential change.

I bought mine on eBay.

I bought 3 on Ebay, and all transactions went basically the same, either came with SIM card, or did not. Most do, so that the seller has something they're shipping you for eBay seller protection. You sign for the Sim card in whatever envelope it's sent in. And there's a piece of paper inside with a username(email)/pasword. Then you just login, change the password, the email, billing info, and it's all yours! I agree with east85, the billing should be switched to a prepaid before selling.

Do you need a router to use it for your home? Or does everything just hook up to it via wifi.....and if you do have a directv box that hooks up via cat 5 only then how do you do that....thanks

Where did you buy yours from? Amazon is $799, yikes. Better speeds than traditional hot spots?
I'm using an Asus AC68R with my Jetpack (VZW UDP), doing USB tethering to the router, so the router handles all the WiFi. Much cheaper than the cradlepoint, and essentially works the same!

I sold mine on eBay a few years ago. I have good seller reviews so at the end of auction I just handed over the login and password to that account and that was that/

I only use WiFi so I'm not really sure how one would accomplish this connection. The last few posts look promising though.

Thanks. That appears to be the gist of it. From what I've dug up, people suggest switching the credit card to a temporary one and changing the information on the account to the buyer's information before sending the SIM card. That gives you a tracking number to give eBay in case the buyer tries to pull a fast one while ensuring the account transfers over no problem. Thanks for the heads up. Gotta sell it before they officially bring the unlimited data back.

I paid $620, got it off of ebay. You can sometimes find a nice deal by buying the att modem and the mbr 1400 router separately. I can't say enough about the router though. I get outstanding speed and excellent range, I've never done anything but set it and forget it. I have an ASUS RT-AC66U as well, before I switched to the cradlepoint, and it got only about 2/3 the distance. I used the ATT Unite Pro with the netgear dock made for it before that as well... There is NO COMPARISON(IMO). Cradlepoint routers are expensive, and worth every penny. I usually average 68MB down and a little over 20MB up. I know that those speeds can be achieved on Hotspot as well, but I like that my speeds never fluctuate the way they did with the hotspot. Of course ymmv, as with any networking product, but I love it. It runs my home internet like a champ! I even thought about getting an external antenna for my cradlepoint to see if I can get even better speeds, but I haven't found the need to as of yet.

I wonder if the prices for these will come down because of AT&T offering unlimited plans again. The monthly cost for the data is $60, plus $40 for each line. People are mostly talking about this for phones. Haven't seen anything about just getting one for an iPad without a phone.

What are the main advantages of these expensive routers? I plan to use my att udp + my verizon udp in bonding but these routers are expensive as hell and nobody has done any meaningful reviews on them.

The stability, signal strength and range are probably the 3 most important advantages. It's basically a business class router, with many features and great security.

Oh my, that's some serious bandwidth (68 down).. I'm lucky to get 13 down on my Unite, just ran a speed test.. 13.75 down. 8.80 up.

I knew these cradlepoint's were the real deal. Wonder if you had outside antennas how much more you'd get.

The unlimited data plans are for cell phones only, plus they throttle at 22GB. These unlimited iPad data plans never get throttled... That's the big difference.

See, I've gotten 80mbps down and 60mbps up on my VZW UDP, also through the Asus AC-68R, and range and stability are incredible. I'm still just not seeing what the advantages of the cradlepoint are. I'll likely get even higher speeds when I live in a large metropolitan city. I also get WiFi AC 1300mbps in-network speeds when I'm in the same room as my Asus.

Brandon can you please make a small review of your router vs unite pro? I want to see if you get better speeds.
