I have one that I might be interested in selling... (Unlimited, grandfathered, iPad data plan from AT&T that is...)

I have been using an unlimited AT&T iPad data sim in an iPhone for a while now. An iPhone 6 now. But it's asking for a carrier update, do you think this is safe? Also can I use the new apple sim for the iPad in the iPhone 6? I'm using Google voice and talkatone. Any other options for voice?

Question:

I currently have an iPad Mini 2 with AT&T's unlimited data plan. I just got an iPad Mini 3 and would like to transfer the data plan to it. Can I just swap out the SIM card? Will this cause any problems?

I'm giving the iPad 2 to my wife and she doesn't need the unlimited data. Going to get a Ting.com account for her.

I'd rather not lock the new Apple SIM card to AT&T with the new iPad Mini 3. Was thinking I would just swap SIM cards. Possible?

Thanks,

JT

Yes. Just swap

I still have one and wouldn't think of selling it. Just praying they don't dump it one day but every time I get a new iPad it just rolls over at 29.99. I'm a huge tennis and football fan and live stream tennis all year, college football, and NFL Sunday ticket. Can't even imagine having to worry about a data limit.

Yup, thats why i am looking for one so I could use it since I am always working on the road. I did not know that ATT was offering this years ago.

Yea, I got it with the first iPad and had it ever since. I cringe every time I get a new iPad that they'll say it ended but it just keeps rolling over.

Well I hope they dont change it and keeps going. Dont want to invest in this plan if it gets cancelled. Just looking around for the right seller to sell me the plan.

I'm wanting $1200 for it... It's the real deal. Original plan from the original iPad.. Been paying for it ever since...

It'll never be cancelled. AT&T doesn't screw around with grandfathered plans. They've *always* honored their prior agreements.

I can't stress its value enough. I watch football games, stream movies and its a personal hotspot. 29.99 a month.

Smh at Verizon commercials showing off watching nfl games on your device. Like you wouldn't burn through your data which is exactly what they want.

This is exactly what I've been looking for for about half an hour. I even asked this question like 2 years ago on another site and never got an answer.

That's awesome that you're able to use the unlimited iPad data plan in a phone. I'm on Verizon and just found out about their Loyalty 30 plan, which is 30 minutes for $15, plus my current unlimited data for $30. I use Hangouts with GV for all my calls and text, so carrier minutes and texts are worthless to me. I'd drop my entire voice plan in a second if I could.

I regret not getting the unlimited iPad data plan back then now. It's still a fantastic value in a big tablet that you won't normally carry around with you everywhere you go, but being able to use it in a pocketable phone makes it an absolute steal.

Well I ended up purchasing one for more than $800 but less than $900.

We shall see if it's worth it, lol.
