Strange it hasnā€™t updated since 21 October. Thankfully the ETA is still 26 October šŸ¤žšŸ»šŸ¤žšŸ»

Nothing to worry about, ETA with StarTrack is 26th for me, was in the truck leaving Sydney yesterday when I checked the tracking, should update Monday morning, should be in Melbourne out for delivery early Monday morning. šŸ˜šŸ‘€šŸ“±šŸ’™

Any buyers in the Melbourne/Victorian area who bought from Apple and TNTā€™s tracking still says the iPhone is in Sydney?

Yeah but they sell outright too, my son has a telstra iP8 and has used it in Germany and now Denmark this year with no problems.

here was my error message. I was trying to use Telstra (physical sim) with Flexiroam eSIM. The Genius Bar in the UK showed me their iPad screen which showed region AU/NZ. Perhaps your son got his unlocked too.

Melbourne update for those interested with iPhones shipping via TNT:

ETA is still by 5pm tomorrow thankfully, although no updates on my tracking since a Sydney check-in on 21/10. Fingers crossed!!

Your a winner 3 days in a row :)

Hopefully battery life is a winner as well. šŸ˜‚

Been hearing mixed reactions when it comes to battery life.

Now to call apple at 9am to organize a return for my MagSafe charger which hasnā€™t arrived yet, bloody aus post. šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

Just wait till it arrives and i Bet they let you keep it and refund you, has happened to me a fair few times for that amount, last was a charcoal watch band a few weeks ago, sold it on ebay.
Especially now with covid and Melbourne lock down.

Apple is awesome when it comes to customer service, gave me a free charger and watch band because of aus post delayed shipping.

whats the verdict?

amazing phone, blazing quick, camera is unbelievable, so light in the hands, Qualcomm modem is amazing getting a extra 150mb in Speedtest on 4g compared to my xs max. No 5g in my area, need to get used to the smaller screen, hopefully in a week should be used to the smaller text.

Told me no probs about the MagSafe charger can send it back, no freebies this time lol.

Yep with the big T, honestly havenā€™t noticed much of a difference when it comes to phone calls, only made one call so far lol, does connect a lot faster though, and the internet is screaming fast.

I am looking for better reception in fringe areas v my 11 pro, mainly steaming radio and not get drop outs, if there was some way to confirm it's better i'd be straight over to JB for a black 12 lol.
Guess only way is to buy from apple and test so i have the return available.

Anyone know why the iP8 with Qualcomm modem was a Telstra bluetick phone and the 12 with Qualcomm isn't?

I reckon the Qualcomm modem alone will make a big difference, good idea to buy from apple, test it out see how you go.

My 12 Pro 128GB Silver arrived today from Telstra. So far everything is fantastic on the device itself, but I spent 2 hours trying to transfer my service to an eSIM, with no result.

After finally navigating my way through Telstraā€™s Kafka-esque system of automated chat bots and voice recognition phone systems, none of which responded to my request, and all of which gave me false or contradictory information before palming me off to the other support system, I got through to a tech support representative who reluctantly put through a request for me. But it will take 24 hours to action, so still running off a conventional SIM for the time being.

Forgive my ignorance but why are you hell-bent on an esim? Does it have advantages over normal SIMs?

I want it for the hell of it - Iā€™m interested in experiencing and learning about new technologies. And more to the point, I specified that I wanted to transfer to an eSIM when re-contracting as that was specified as an option. So Iā€™m simply holding them to account for what I asked for, and what I signed on the dotted line for. And yet every piece of information and every instruction theyā€™ve given me on how to do it does not work. And this is not the first phone with an eSIM.

The only way i can get to speak to someone at Telstra business on the phone now is to say CLOSE ACCOUNT to their stupid recorded message.

ā€œIā€™m sorry, did you say Activate Account? To activate, you can **** off to our website where youā€™ll find this phone number again. Good-bye!ā€

If you say anything else but close account they just send a text to message.

yeah I found that out šŸ¤£

Canā€™t believe they donā€™t even have live chat available. Iā€™ve always done that in the past with Bigpond issues, and the staff there have always been excellent. Today it felt like I was dealing with a local council.
