I just installed this. Should I be concerned? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1328302526.035707.jpg

After reading the article I posted, I decided to do a full discharge. After the discharge, I turned my phone off, and left it charging for 180 min (3 hours). Ever since, my battery life has been pretty good.

Now, I never let my phone go below 20% of battery; it's usually around 40-50% when I begin to charge.

And you shouldn't let your phone reach full charge (100%) 'cause that could have a negative effects long term; 80% is where I pull the plug.

All this is in the article.

Now--before some of you kill me for my comments-- this might not be ideal for everyone.

The maxcapacity is low for many because u have too many cydia tweaks which are shortening ur battery life. I uninstalled a bunch and left only the necessary few and my maxcapacity has been at a constant 1422. I can confirm this as i reinstalled those tweaks again and my maxcapacity dropped to 1360...

That's odd. How many would u categorize as "too many"? I have a bunch of tweaks (including widgets on both my lockscreen and springboard) and I would say my max capacity is pretty good at 1499. This is on a 4S purchased on launch day.

No one amazed that we have an accurate functional internal thermometer in the iphone ? While until now people said that's impossible ?

I compared it with a digital thermometer and they both had the exact same value.

How accurate is 'Battery Info Lite'?

I ask because when I did the full discharge, Battery Lite Info had battery charge at 00.00 while my phone battery was at 3%.

Anyway, here's a screen shot of my battery info now.

This is off a fresh Restore as New, with Batteryinfolite as the only Cydia app installed.

What do you guys think? Time to take it to the Apple store? Can Apple Geniuses in-store do battery replacements instead of handset replacements?

Here's mine. Haven't lost much capacity it seems yet, despite the aprox. 250 cycles I have on it.

Mine hovers between 1175-1205 mAh or thereabouts, depending on temp, charge level and being charged or not.

I assume it gets its numbers from the battery chip. I could be wrong about that though.

Figured I'd give it a try. I have an iPhone 4 which was pre-ordered and sent to me the day before release day. I'd say things are about normal considering it's been two years.

I charged the phone overnight, received two text messages and sent one. Then I noticed this thread and here's what I have:

I don't trust BatteryLite and it's analysis. I had it on my previous iPhone 4S and just felt my battery was way better that BL perceived it to be.

I doubt it's accuracy. The other day I drained the battery unintentionally to zero and fully recharged their. The charge cycle remained the same value.

The number you see in program for things like Max Capacity, are an approximation. It's usually fairly accurate, in most the details; but there can be reasons it misses a charge cycle. Letting it die is likely one.
Also as for Cydia apps having an effect on Max Capacity, I've found that unlikely (unless it's poorly coded of the hooks conflict with another app). Seems its more about being anal about charging and taking care of your phone.
I've learned never let it over charge (But let it sit at 100 for at least a few minutes before unplugging), sometimes it helps to drain it to 90 or so then charge to full again randomly once or twice a day.
Again, don't leaving it charging over night or over a long period of time >__< (My sister seems to not get this). With this pattern my batteries back in the 1400's; 1413 at the moment. >__>b

While I can't explain topocalypse's issue, I don't think batteryinfolite can 'miss' cycles, because the battery circuitry itself keeps track of that. The app simply reports the various values it gets from the battery. If your battery had 250 cycles on it for example, and you would put it in another jailbroken iphone with batteryinfolite installed, it would report the exact same 250 cycles. It's miles more accurate than apple's percentage meter, which is most likely nothing more than a voltage gauge.

I believe the program might actually count the drain cycle rather than recharge cycle. That means using the battery from 100% to 0% counts as one cycle, rather than recharging from 0% to 100%. That is what i observed with iStat Pro on MBP.

Hmm, that would make more sense. I don't have a MBP to test myself though. :x

Just joined up to compare. I got 520 cycles on an iPhone 4 from July 2010 and still got 1365mAh. So havnt lost much at all, was expecting a much higher loss considering how many cycles I done!

iPhone 4S
Max capacity: 1361
Design capacity: 1430
Cycle count: 110

iPad 2 from last summer.
Max capacity: 5965
Design capacity: 6583
Cycle count: 80

That's about 90% capacity, too many cydia apps or what?

Max Capacity - 1311mAh
Design Capacity -1420 mAH
Cycle Count - 636

I've had my phone for about a little over a year and a half. Anyway to improve the max capacity or will it always decline?
