I get pretty great battery life and I'm a heavy user. On average I get about a day/day in a half without charging and I think if I had a bad battery I wouldn't be getting that kind of life out of it. I also don't believe that I have 266 charge cycles, just doesn't seem possible to me.

I don't know, if you got it a couple of weeks after launch and you get a day/day and a half out of it on average, then doesn't the math work out pretty accurately at 266 cycles?

I have the iPhone 4. Got it Febuary 2011.

My max capacity is 1270 mAh

Design capacity is 1420 mAh

Cycle count is 420

My question would be what really determines this information? I wouldn't say I'm on my phone all day. I do use it to text during the day and check Facebook. Is my information bad?

No it's normal. It lost about 10% capacity with 420 charge cycles.

Every week if I run this app I get different numbers up and down. Makes me not put a lot of stock in this app.

Got my new 4s battery off eBay and replaced it minutes ago.

As you can see it worked and I'm very satisfied. My old battery was at 219 cycles and max capacity was around 1320 mAh, not the worst but I wanted a fresh start.

Any tips how should I charge my new battery the first time?

Hello everyone. On my iphone 4, which is 9 months old, i have
1250 max capacity, from 1420
133 cicles.

On my ipad 2 it shows 6100 out of 6600 initially, it has only 30 cycles.

It seems the battery lost quite a lot of its initial 1460 capacity (when it was brand new). However, the battery life is good, I'm quite happy with it.

i've jailbroken the iphone since day one and haven't had any issues with it, but now i'm starting to wonder whether or not it affects the battery's capacity.

Any ideas on how to get it back to around 1400? Btw, the battery i have is model 003 L, i think this might be important also. Some iphones have 003 Y type battery.

So pls do share your thougths and opinions, i know something is wrong with the battery and i don't know why.

Current capacity 1319
Design capacity 1420
Load cycles 86

Seems poor to me. Can't say it's caused me any problems. People that say they got a replacement, how did you prove this issue?

My capacity has dropped to 1363mAh after just 11 charges and I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I did one full cycle when I replaced the battery (as I read that's recommended to do) and ever since I charge my phone daily when it drops to 25%-35% and I leave it on until trickle charging is done. I use battery doctor pro and I get a beep when the charging is done but somehow the capacity keeps dropping rapidly. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Sounds like something on your phone is using alot of power...

I have had 33 charges since replacement and my maxcapacity is 1415...

I let me battery go flat once a month then charge it fully but other than that i just try and charge it when i can... normally when its around 50% if i'm by a charger...

I don't always charge it up fully it just depends on what i'm doing at the time.

At the end of the day i wouldn't read to much into battery info, if you battery works for you and doesn't seem to be dieing to quickly then there no really issue is there?

Anyone have a reliable way of testing the battery on an iPhone 3G? The only thing I can think of is charging it up to full, setting Auto-Lock to Never, doing a fresh restore, and then seeing how many hours it takes to power off. I think anything over 6 is average and 10 is probably the best possible.

I'm not sure, the battery life is okay I guess. I get around 6-7 hours of usage when I discharge from 100% to zero and I usually do that once a month.

I don't really have a lot of apps on my phone, maybe around 30 and mostly I just use the social ones (facebook, fb messenger, twitter, instagram and skype), as for tweaks I do have a few of those. I got winterboard and ayecon installed and I use InteliscreenX since I jailbroke my phone (back in January), and I also got Dashboard X and I use a couple of widgets. I mean those could all drain my battery but how could they deplete my battery capacity?

Now the max capacity dropped to 1358mAh, before the charge I was at 23% and the capacity was 1363mAh and I imagine it will drop even further more. Still don't have a clue what's going on.

Here's a screenshot of battery doctor pro:

Do you get the same result from Battery info lite?

Does you phone ever get really hot or left in cold places this wont help the battery

I get the same results on both apps.

It gets really hot when I use 3g for a longer period of time and playing 3D games (but I rarely ever play 3D games). As for leaving it in a cold place, I'm not doing that. The temperatures are quite high during the summer here where I live (around 100 degrees fahrenheit).

Do you use it as a sat nav? As i know it gets hot when its on the widescreen and the sun is stong...When i was in florida last year my old iPhone shutdown as it got to hot and i did wonder if that would damage the battery if i used it every day.

I don't use it as sat nav, like I said I'm just a normal iPhone user who probably doesn't even fully use what the iPhone has to offer. Social apps, camera, reading news and stuff like that. That's why it's so puzzling, I don't do anything out of the ordinary and yet the battery capacity keeps dropping.

Well there only two options i can see then.

1 either you got a faulty battery
2. Your charge point is faulty

As you have already replaced the battery i would start testing the charger

Alright, I will test the charger in the next few days. Thanks for your input.

Crap, my ipad's battery now shows 5900 mah from 6600, at just 30 cycles. I think i will do a restore and no more jailbreaking, for a couple of weeks, then jailbreak and check again. When i bought it, it had 6700 capacity at 10 cycles, and at that moment i jailbroke it.

What do you guys think?

Well its not the jailbreak that is causing the issues.

It could be the tweaks you install but I'd be surprised my guess is you have a faulty battery or charger like the other user but without seeing the device or testing it i could be wrong.

Sounds like you have the right idea... run as stock see how it goes... then jailbreak install nothing see how it goes... then install a tweak at a time and see what happens.

if it still bad at stock i would check battery and charger.

Interesting thing happened. I got rid of the "battery doctor pro" tweak I installed through cydia, let me phone fully drain and turned it off manually. After that I recharged it to 100% and turned it on.

Two days later and 2 charges (3rd one in progress as I write my post) and my max capacity went up to 1353mAh from the previous 1345mAh. Also my battery life is better as well after I did all this, I got like 8 hours of usage and still had like 20% left before this current charge I'm doing.

If the max capacity keeps on improving guess I solved the problem. Will keep you up to date.

So my battery capacity is still dropping, now it's down to 1343mAh. I've decided to order a new battery because this here is pissing me off. I still do get great battery life, but I don't want a battery where almost 10% of it can't be charged for some reason that I don't know.
