Feels like I'm using a intel Mac again, not doing anything battery demanding on my Mac, mainly browsing safari, anyone else have crap battery life on 11.2.3? 🥺 was getting 8-10h previously.

You last charged 4 days ago and still have 28%. Whats the problem? Seems fine to me.
I'd normally have way more battery usage at this stage and more battery life remaining. 🥺

What is your screen brightness level? Show a pic fo the apps using the most battery.

Screen brightness never goes over half way, most of the time it's on 4-6 bars 🤔

Only app I have open most of the time is safari 🥺 everything else is normally closed. 🤔

5h usage with 28% remaining is terrible, compared to my previous battery life. 🥺

You need to review energy usage in Activity Monitor
Nothing running in activity monitor apart from safari, realized spotlight is being more active in the background recently, don’t know why that is since I’ve got hardly no apps installed on my Mac. 🤔

Oh well I’ll wait for the next couple of updates, if it’s still performing like this, I’ll be taking it to apple for a replacement. 🤷‍♂️🥺

Strange to go from 8-10h battery usage to 5h and 28% percent battery life left. 🤔

I keep getting runaway kernel tasks on 11.3 Beta (20E5217a) eating CPU and battery. Anyone else?

I have a m1 MacBook Air 256/8gb and usually use it for 4 days before needing to recharge it and never shut it down. I charged it for the 3rd time since last Friday last night at 40% remaining. I am quite amazed at the battery performance from it. I have Big Sur 11.2.3 installed, and have the screen set to auto brightness.

there
the batter in the m1 MacBooks are impressive and i hope they last as long as the MacBook!
silly me was ecstatic that i can get an extra 4 hours out of the the Dell XPS today just by toggling a balance something.

I haven't had any issues with m1 MacBook Air
I have the 8 core gpu with 8gb of ram and 512gb ssd on the latest macOS 11.2.3 and im getting easily over 40 hours of usage and using it daily only having to charge every 3 days or so

Same issue with me just bought macbook air 16 gb variant and getting like only 8 hr of screen on time with half brightness....and I don't know why every app is using significant energy and safari is using significant memory even when I just have opened one tab

Hopefully it’s just a bug that has popped up recently in one of the big sur updates.

What's connected to your machine? Someone who had a similar issue on a different thread realized that he had a passive hub connected to his machine that was sucking up his power. And that's not going to be reflected in the Activity Monitor's energy report.

Absolutely nothing. 🤔 Thinking it could be a battery usage graph error.

Says time on battery is 1:21

Yet my usage is apparently 20m

Use to hit 2+ hours usage in the first 10% of battery usage, not it's down to 1h30m, noticing after the first few % drop, battery life depletes very quickly, wasn't like that previously.

Also if I shut down my Mac at 70% when I boot up the next day i'll be on 68% in a few minutes. 🤷‍♂️

I'll wait for the next Big Sur update see if that changes anything, also left my Mac on charge for a little longer this morning. 🤷‍♂️

Also try letting the battery run down to zero then charge to full in case calibration is off.

Thinking it's a graph error, charged my Mac to 100% this morning, it's saying last charged to 100% was on the 22nd.

My usage this morning was added to the graph, this evening I've been using my Mac for a hour and usage hasn't updated, should be close to 2h usage, still stuck on 40m. 🤷‍♂️

There is no way I've only used my Mac for 40m today. 🤔

I noticed sometimes the graph doesn’t update no matter how many shutdowns or restarts.
It eventually starts working after awhile randomly.
