Well, I tend to be online by 7am and not offline till around 6pm - that is work. Typically by that point my battery is at about 35%. I close the lid and am off till the next morning.

The next morning I lift lid and get back to work. Typically it has used maybe 1% overnight but frequently zero. I wind up having to plug in after about 5 hours as I am down to about 10% - I don't like letting it get lower because I want enough charge in it to take it on the road.

Display is sitting at about half brightness because otherwise it is just too bright for what I am doing (too many things have white backgrounds and with this display at full white backgrounds are BRIGHT). I'm on 11.2.3.

This was the kind of experience I was having until 11.2.3. It's super weird. Nothing has changed in my usage except the OS update. Now the computer runs warm, and yet often it tells me "no apps using significant energy." Maybe 7 hours total battery life now. Super, super weird.

Mine never gets warm, can only hope next updates fixes things.

29% down, 2 hours usage, only using safari nothing else open. 🤦‍♂️ brightness on 4-5 bars.

I've been running off battery since I got to my office this morning. Already installed an OS update (registered developer, so I get the Dev Preview builds) and still showing 100% battery remaining. (11.3 beta)

So you're seeing improved battery life on 11.3?

I don't know where's problem. Macbook Pro (2019) slept for 10 days... It's happening every day.

Something looks very wrong there, have you tried restoring your Mac? Or have apple take a look at it.

Apple did this to my Mac. This is 11.2.3 at work. As we've been discussing for weeks, my laptop was fine before this monstrous update!

Hopefully they get their act together soon, even the latest iOS betas have been crap when it comes to battery life ?‍♂️

Let us know if 11.3 improves your battery life, won’t be able to test it for a few days.
No change. If anything, worse, but really just feels like an Intel machine now. Kind of disappointing that a software update (11.2.3) could savage battery life like this, when the M1 was so good on the earlier version.

I've been using the computer for maybe 20 mins, have lost 6% in the process. Apple isn't paying attention to this, seems like maybe it isn't a widespread issue?

I’d be getting the whole machine replaced.

Apple doesn't do that unless you've had multiple repairs first, and while this is extremely disappointing, I also don't want to lose my laptop for a week or more to get this "fixed." They won't fix it; they'll examine it and say it works to spec.

Showing 6h usage left with 93% battery left doesn‘t look right at all, mine would be showing 17h or more, don’t settle, demand a replacement unit.

I called them a few weeks ago and they didn't even suggest a replacement... I will consider trying again!

Just turned on my MacBook Pro so I can take a screenshot for you, there is something definitely wrong with your machine.

Time remaining is still going up it's at 13:47 now, show apple this thread, don't know if it'll help though, If they keep saying they wont replace it, tell them you want to speak to a senior manger.

We pay good money for these machines, don't settle till you get your issue fixed.

My battery life is still down, can push it to 8h, nowhere near as good as before though.

I'll give it another week, maybe it's still indexing.
