Wish Apple had some transparent designs even if limited release. Really loved the old 90’s transparent controllers and consoles (esp N64 and Gameboys) then iMacs. Guess it wouldn’t be practical material wise and plastic is more and more lower tier quality anyways.

Do these have the ability to move between Apple devices seamlessly the same way that AirPods do? I thought they did not but if they do that’s a great feature at that price point.
They don't automatically switch, but they will automatically appear in the list of Bluetooth devices on all of your Apple Devices to allow you to quickly manually switch them. I almost like that better, because sometimes my Airpods switch to a device I didn't intend them to switch to.

The post-Apple lineup of Beats products is so weird and varied:

Non-stop collaborations with designers and artists for different colors, yet always partially or entirely behind AirPods in terms of actual hardware and sound quality.

The most expensive in-ear Beats are the $249 Powerbeats Pro and are more than 4 years old now and released in the same year we got gen. 1 AirPods Pro.

Why hasn't Apple dropped the price on Powerbeats Pro or done an update?

I get that retail will often sell them for much lower. But why are they still $249 on apple.com?

Most confusing value proposition for any line of consumer electronics I've ever seen.

Agreed, my AP2 were always getting confused between my work and personal phone. I finally bought a pair of Technics earbuds for my work phone and it's much smoother now. Of course, the AP2 still struggle when I try to use them with my MBP or iPad if my phone is close by...

The 1st gen Studio buds do (despite people saying that it doesn't due to lack of an H1 chip) so I imagine these will as well.

Thanks. You have the first gen Studio buds? And if you're listening to content on your iPad and then begin playing content on your iPhone it will automatically jump between the two?

These remind me of the Nothing earbuds

But then again, Apple was the first to do the clear case/body thing with the original iMac which you can say these are paying tribute to.

As an owner of 4 Nothing Ears, I can’t say I endorse them when pairing with Apple products. I’m actually on my 3rd replacement set since they have multiple functionality issues in tandem use with my iPhone, but I’m selling that one off soon. I will now just buy Apple ear buds unless something comes along that is priced mid-tiered and has decent ANC in a stylish form.

I want an iPhone in this finish soooooooooo bad!!!!!!!

Nothing Phone 1 has this and also has lit-up LEDs on the back. It’s pretty cool-looking.

AirPods could/should mirror - or draft off of - iPhone / iMac colors.

AirPods Pro’s could mirror iPhone Pro / MacBook Pro colors.

People love colors and Apple loves differentiation. Win-win.

For the life of me, and a big reason I did buy multiple Nothing Ears, I don’t understand why Apple puts out these redundant white AirPods. To have no colors after all this time, yuck! So yes, the only viable option is to buy through Colorware at more than double the price while also wiping out your warranty.

I did try the studio buds last year, I loved the design but found the sound quality really poor (too many mids, muffled sound). As Apple Music offers no equalizer to control lows, mids and highs I had to return them.

A great thing with Nothing Ears is the customizable option. Two things that Apple ABSOLUTELY should focus on with earbud options: colors and customizable sound. To me, it’s a no-brainer!

Is that how the Airpods work? Ok my bad, I guess it's not quite automatic then. If I am listening to content with my Studio Buds on my iPad and then switch to my iPhone I can pull down the control center and switch and select the Studio Buds - it only takes a second or two. If I go down to the treadmill and turn on my Apple TV while wearing the Studio Buds a prompt will come up telling me to hit the TV button to connect. It's pretty quick and seamless, but I guess not automatic as it still requires input from me (which I think I'd prefer as honestly anytime some AI makes assumptions about what I would want it often gets it wrong).

Thanks. Yes, the AirPods are like magic. It just happens. Thanks for clarifying.

If you still can’t switch between devices as you can with AirPods then it’s a no bueno for me.

But I guess if Nothing is gonna keep name dropping Apple, Apple is gonna copy your whole clear mantra

Nintendo did this almost a decade before the G3 iMac saw the light of day.

The older one didn't when it was first released, but gained that ability through a firmware update later on.
This hasn't happened (at least not yet). If it's true the new model doesn't include the H1 chip but does switch perhaps they could add it in an update somehow.

Sorry I misunderstood - The Studio Buds supports the same functionality as the older W1 chip (i.e. from 1st gen Airpods and some other devices) so you can quickly switch between devices that are logged into the same iCloud account, so it's quick and easy, but not automatic. I actually disabled and forgot about the automatic switching feature on my Powerbeats Pros because Apple "magic" is often problematic, so in my head I thought the person was asking about the rapid switching feature. The Studio Buds didn't even have this when they were first released and you had to put them into pairing mode and pair with the new device if you wanted to switch.

I would love that feature for AirPods :)

Have had all generations of AirPods, AirPods Pro:s and AirPod Max - none are able to reliably move between Apple devices. AirPods Pro 2 have been the most reliable ones, but even they fail to connect to some Apple device once a week. Better than Max that fails almost daily.

I have a set of Gen 2 AirPods and a set of Gen 1 APPs and it’s been flawless. Sometimes it does what I told it to do when I don’t want it to. Sometimes I don’t want it to jump to my phone. But that’s the way I have it configured and it works perfectly for me.

Not the same but I do find that the 2nd Gen AirPods will sometimes drop from my phone when I’m using I my one ear. They’re not a perfect product but the following feature has been super. For me.
