Bought it on impulse. I was waiting for it to go down to 12.99 like before but this is even better!

Thank you, Rayfire, for the heads up! :D

EDIT: I've been trying out Beejive with my friend's iPhone and I wanted to buy it for a long time. And I have to say, I am impressed a lot more than when I tried it on my friend's iPhone. It's way more stable than Palringo and it notifies the instant you get a message. Plus, you can stay connected upto a day! Way cool. Totally worth the price but I glad I got it at $10.

I've been playing with Beejive IM tonight and I'm really, really impressed. I was sceptical that it would be worth £5.99 (let alone the £9.99 regular price) but it is by far the best IM client for iPhone.

It's so stable. IM+ used to crash sometimes and it would never, ever store the names I renamed contacts to. Very often it would also just completely mess up the IM window, squeezing all the text together so it was unreadable. I had to restart the app to get rid of it, also normally losing my in-progress conversations.

There is also an awesome feature where you can link each contact to an address book card and then it automatically names the contact what their name is in the address book. Saved me a lot of typing!

Looking for your wisdom

Couple of questions to the masses:

I Currently have 200 text messages a month... My friend pays 0.10 per text message. We both purchase beejive...
- Does it cost my friend any money to receive text message, or would his google talk handle that?

- Does it cost any money to send SMS to non beejive owner?

Thanks!

-Beejive doesn't use SMS, it's "normal" data.
-I think most providers charge both incoming and outgoing SMS...

Yeah, just talk to your friend through google talk....i was able to lower my text plan to 200 and have not regretted it. Beejive has saved me so much in texting cost alone. It has really paid for itself over and over.

Am I the only one thinking that Beejive should be $5 for at least a week?

Personally, I think it's a little overpriced.

Read the whole thread, that pricing thing has been discussed in ages.

IMO it's their app, they developed it, they put hard work, they bought servers that they need to maintain, they keep on upgrading their app and listen to their users, I believe it's in their own discretion to price it competitively - so far it's worth every penny and no regrets at all. This overpricing argument is sometimes ..nevermind ;)
