Exactly. I ordered a silicone case for mine (Incipio Dermashot), but it's black, so dust and/or minor scratches won't be seen. Just being able to see a spec of dust would piss me off.

I recognize that if dust can get under an iPhone care, more dust will be able to get under a larger iPad case.

I elected for a silicone case purely because I think it'll be more comfortable to hold for long periods than a plastic case would be (like my Sedio Innocase on my iphone). I'm willing to trade some minor scratches in exchange for comfort.

Actually I've noticed that the darker colors show dust more than the lighter colors, mainly because dust itself is light colored and stands out more on a dark background.

I have had this on my iPad since day 1 and i love it! Lets me see everything while still doing a great job protecting it.:D

Does this case feel more like hard plastic or like silicone?

Both. It's got the "feel" of a silicone but it's rigid like a plastic. I think it's a Thermoplastic but honestly not sure. It does have the stickyness of a Silicone. I can place the iPad flat into my hand and hold it at an 80+ degree angle without it falling off, I have gone to full 90 but it slid off into my other waiting hand. :) It is not hard I can bend it I don't feel like I'm going to crack it when I'm twisting and moving it when I apply it to my iPad. However it's not flimsy like Silicone. I'd say it gives about a 15-20 degree angle of flex.

I have this case and an apple case...I may be returning the apple case...this thing is so nice! It reminds me of my old iskin for my 3GS that I had...the only thing i do like about the iPad apple case is the viewing angle. But i can solve that with a .91 cent business card holder

Also picked up this case today. Had the Cimo Clear TPU case and really was not too happy with it. The openings didn't line up and I had to cut away to get to the orientation switch and even the charger opening! In the end, it made my beautiful piece of tech look cheap.

Man, what a difference in quality the Belkin is from the Cimo! This case goes on easier and everything lines up beautifully! I also like the feel of the Belkin more, there is more grip to it and I like that there isn't a cutout in the back. It's funny how the case does make the logo look gray, which actually makes it look even better.

For anyone interested, pay the premium price, it's worth it.

This case looks great although it's not worth $50 what so ever.

I would disagree. For me, this is the perfect case. It's clear, to show the aesthetic of the iPad, it's scratch resistant, so it won't look like a scratched mess in a week, and the material has grip without being silicone. For a much smaller iPhone case, they run about $30. For a case several times the size, and for the quality of this case, I thought it was a good price, and well worth it.

I HIGHLY recommend this case, even at $50.

Just ordered mine a few minutes ago. I cancelled the order for the Apple case that I ordered two weeks ago, with no shipping date in sight, and I should have my Belkin case by Monday. Can't wait!:D

Does it make the ipad heavier? I'm thinking about returning my official apple case. I just dont want it to be heavy.

I've had this case on my ipad since launch day and I have not had any dust go under it and I've been traveling with it quite a bit. I took it out of the case to clean it off and it looked like it was straight out of the box without a trace of dust. I really love this case - its very thin, just the right texture (grippy but not too much to catch dust/dirt), and it doesn't take away from the looks of the ipad being clear.

I picked up this case when my iPad arrived at launch because I had heard such awful things about the Apple case. What I can say is that with this case I'm confident that it won't slip and fall and that it will endure some minor falls. The case provides good protection to everything but the front scren.

Pros:

No Slip
Good back protection

Cons:

No docking with that case on
No screen protection

Thanks to the OP on starting this thread. As a result I picked one up today to replace my incase book jacket and so far I'm loving it (but missing the stand feature).

I love the minimal bulk but wonder if the iPad would fit in a vaja or sena sleeve with this case on it for screen protection when not in use and travel.

I had the same problem with the dock not working. I went to Hobby Lobby and got a $2.99 clear plastic "Easel" it works wonderful. Holds the iPad up, and I can still hook up a USB cord too it. Took the iPad dock back to the Apple store and couldn't be happier. Plus the little Easel folds up flat and is very light.

After a few days of use I am still enjoying my Belkin Grip Vue a lot. The $50 price tag keeps nagging at me to return it though, not sure if I will be keeping it. Too many other good looking cases on the near horizon. Feels kinda 50/50 at the moment even though price aside I would give it a 10/10.
