Best Buy iPad pre orders......

Pre-Ordered a 10.5 Wifi model from Best Buy with status that it would be here by June 13th. Did anyone else receive a delayed notification at 5:20AM this morning, delayed until the 7/13 ?!? I'm fine with it being delayed a few days but a month is insane.
 
Same here. iPad Pro 12.9 512GB. Typical Best Buy preorder nonsense. They always take more orders than they can fill.

Mine as well. The stranger part is they show it on their site for delivery on Thursday or pickup on Friday if you order today, but mine won't get here till 7/13? That makes sense.
 
I'm sure we won't be waiting until 7/13 for it but it's annoying that Best Buy pretty much lies about the delivery date all the way up to 6/13. They know when and how many units they are getting from Apple and how many units customers ordered. I would think they would be more realistic with the delivery dates..the only reason I went through them was the 50 gift card offer.
 
Mine went to Preparing for Shipment last night at about 9pm, but hasn't shown as shipped yet. I'm assuming a charge is a good sign?? But my delivery date estimate is not there anymore. It was saying 6/13, even last night when it switched to Preparing for Shipment. We'll see.
 
No problems here, 10.5 space gray 64gb for pickup today. Got the email confirmation 11 o’clock last night and nothing afterwards saying it has been delayed.

It may be dependent on the model and color one wants BUT I am not sure why they gave out a verification for pickup if they know they are not going to have it.

Just check the website in your area as maybe some store has the one you want in stock.
 
Just got off the phone with them. Turns out their email and status are just plain wrong. It's actually out for delivery with the USPS. Bizarre.

Did you get a tracking number, is that how you know BB's status was wrong?

I did. She read off the whole long number and I kept her on the phone while I looked it up. Came up with my local post office with a delivery date of today and Out For Delivery status.

Their website has no delivery date, and is in a preparing state.

I preordered the Silver 12.9 512GB Wifi model and I got the alert at 5 this morning that my shipment had been delayed from the 13th to Jul 5th . I see on Best Buy's website that the Celluar version will ship today if I order. Seriously considering ordering. Does anyone know if there are any downsides to this other than and extra $100+ . Do I have to return the gift card?

Try to get one from a store in your area if possible, not sure what happens with the GC. Maybe it will be void if you try to use it, I doubt you would have to return it though.

You won't return the giftcard. Instead they will charge you for it. Happened to me witht the bs "free" software Best Buy gives with these preorders. Last time, I cancelled the iPad but they still charged me $30 for the software since it was a digital code (which I hadn't used and had no intention of using). It took literally hours on the phone to get it resolved.
 
I think I stand corrected... It looks like that is the tracking info for the Gift Card. Calling back.
 
The staus of my iPad has changed to "Preparing". Date's still showing "by July 05" though. Maybe I'll just wait it out. Really don't want to wait a month. Damn you Best Buy! LOL
 
Got my gift card Saturday having ordered on the 6th.

Has said 'preparing order' since yesterday afternoon, now it just says 'we will notify you when we ship'.

Seems no joy for today as was indicated since Friday.....

Oh well, back to Apple for pre-orders from now on.... Ain't no learn'n from the second kick of the mule....

Lol mine just went from "Preparing" to "Pre-ordered" comical if they have them in the stores but didn't fill the online orders. Typical Best Buy.
 
Another call, another story... This call landed stateside so I could have a better conversation about it. She says it still shows it is going to be delivered today. It is at a store waiting to get picked up by UPS and then the status would be updated. She said it should be today, worst case tomorrow. As Jelsa said... no more Best Buy preorders. First time not doing it from Apple and learned my lesson.

BB's order status is all wrong. I ordered a 10.5" 256 GB yesterday for delivery to my office today. I got an email last night saying it was delayed until July 13. Order status says preparing for shipping and no delivery date...FedEx just dropped it off this morning.

I had a similar experience to this with the Apple Pencil.
Order status went to delayed by several weeks, but then it just showed up at my door.

I hope this is the case for mine. It says the same thing for me. Best Buy customer service says I won't be getting it today and they don't have a new delivery date.
