Just received my bumper from Thano Tech, been naked or in apple leather case, so need to get used to the bumper feel again.

My Spigen Ultra Hybrid, in Space Crystal color. The difference between this and the crystal one, is the bumper part is clear grey. The hardback is still clear in color.
I feel this one is better suited for the Space Grey X than the crystal clear version.

Picked this up this morning (in Australia from an Aussie owned company)

https://myefm.com/case-armour/cayman/iphone-x-case

Pricey at $60 AUD however its comparable to the Tech21 and Rhinoshield Mod case...

Feels great on the X .....not too bulky and well put together

The accented buttons and back camera accent are a nice touch..

Great feel in the hand...ladies?? :)

Not sure if someone has answered you yet. The grip is definitely thinner but it’s hard to get out of pockets due to the rubber ridges. The symmetry impressed me with its mattee finish and protection. Definitely thicker though. I might get it for times when I feel the phone is in danger.

Thanks, the more answers the better.

Yes in the years I too realized the perfect balance is grippy “bumper area” + smooth back, for easy slide in/out of the pocket operation.

The smooth hard back of the Otterbox Symmetry also has that awesome texture, so it’s not even uncomfortably smooth, has some grip itself (but it will definitely slide if put on a car dashboard or something), and it’s no fingerprint magnet or dust magnet.

(Speaking of uncomfortably smooth, that’s why I can’t live with the Otterbox Statement and always hoped for a “frosted” version of that case.)

That perfectly textured hard back is why the Symmetry is hard to beat for me...(and by the way when they switched to the “brutal” all-caps etched logo it made it even better)...now if there was a slimmer version of that concept, hybrid with rubber on the front/bumper and hard as nails textured polycarbonate on the back, I would certainly give it a try.

Speaking of my short list, one thing I’m starting to value is how closely the camera cutout wraps the camera bump..we have been blessed with the new led flash positions within the camera that allows for zero wasted space cutouts, I’m liking cases that fully take advantage of that (if they’re thick they can do the sloped rim thing to avoid getting in the way).

I may end up with
- Otterbox symmetry because years long tradition
- Spigen liquid air to give it a try ‘cause it’s cheap
- Tendlin TPU + PU leather (brown) to fancy up on the cheap
- the X-doria defense lux (black leather) gives some Leica camera vibes I guess?
- Caudabe the synthesis back texture looks interesting

Bought the Spigen liquid crystal and the ultra hybrid. They are fine but I find the ultra hybrid to be a little bulky and don’t like the feel of the material in the liquid crystal.

Ended up going with the apple silicone case in blue and I’m pretty happy with it. Not as bulky and as a nice feel in the hand.

I have my X in an Otterbox Symmetry.

Just dropped my X accidentally from about 4 feet. It hit a foot stool and then bound off and hit the ground. I have it in an otterbox symmetry case. My heart sank when it happened, but the case did an amazing job protecting it

No scratches. Not dents. Nothing. Thank you Otterbox

I currently have the Caseology Coastline and Skyfall series. They look great and they show off my first silver iPhone :)
I’d love to get the otterbox symmetry that I had for iP 7+ but they don’t have it in black/clear with the leather on the bottom for iPX. Pic is a comparison of the symmetry for iP 7+ and the Caseology Coastline.

They do have it in the black/clear with leather at the bottom. It’s only at Apple though.

I am getting a Silver iPhone X for now, so what cases allow me to protect it, have minimal bulk, and look sleek enough to show off the back? Clear cases yellow up a lot over time? When I checked out the Silver, it didn't appear to be as nice as it does in photos online on the Apple website.

Here is the Encased in White/Sliver. It's a nice case and adds a little bulk to the phone but protects the phone well. It is a three piece case with polycarbonate (white) and hard TPU (grey) The mute button was a little small and hard to get to but I used an X-Acto knife to make the cutout a little bigger and it works better. It still has a nice lip even with a glass screen protector on the phone.

Just got the Caudabe Sheath in Navy today. It's a nice, understated case which feels solid and secure in the hand. Cutouts for lightning port, speakers and mute switch are precise. Covers for the power and volume buttons are firm and tactile.

The case is a good thickness - not bulky and not too thin with absolutely no flex when installed. The area around the lightning port is reinforced with a little extra thickness. The texture is a very fine matte, grain material which makes it comfortable to grip but doesn't affect the ability to slide in/out of pockets. The carbon fibre accent beside the camera is glossy and smooth and offers a nice pop of style on an otherwise plain case. Branding on the side and at the bottom of the rear is small and discrete.

There is a raised lip around the front to protect the screen. This does not impede performing gestures, but does feel a little bit sharp when moving a finger across as there is a seam here. There was a slight touch of wear along the top edge straight out of the box, so I suspect this may be the first part to suffer from wear and tear.

The camera is protected with a fractionally higher lip than elsewhere - this is so minimal it won't result in rocking when laid flat but still means the lens will not come into contact with the surface.

Some of my close-up pics looks purple, but I can assure you the blue on the full case shots are truer to colour. In low light, it actually looks black! :D I've also got a red one on the way which should arrive next week.

This is my second Caudabe case (first being a Lucid Clear) and I'm very happy with it. I think I'll be going back for a Synthesis soon! :D

Just received my Sheath in black a few hours ago. So far it’s my favourite all-round case for the X. Feels great and is the perfect balance (for me) between thinness and protection.

Gonna be a while before I take this one off! Great job Caudabe!

Spigen Neo Hybrid arrived today and iPhone X expected by the end of the month. Classy case and it looks like it should offer good, all-round protection. Fairly “grippy” too. Particularly like the gunmetal in the bumper frame. Coincidentally, my current iPhone 6 in its Spigen case fits the Hybrid case perfectly - double the protection!

Ringke fusion is basically a slimmer ultra hybrid if you’re still looking for a clear case

Picked up another BARE Series case this time in Aqua. Anyone else still loving the fact we have 5.8 inches of screen in the same size body as the 4.7 inch line ups nearly??
