Picked up another bare series case, this time in shadow, using in combination with the Tech21 Impact screen protector overall a good combo for my personal needs.

All the reviews on amazon are fake. Does this case fit well and it the surface slick or grippy/rough?

So I had such high hopes for the Caudabe Sheath, but today I was let down in a major way. Dropped my phone from about front pocket high & it landed face down on the concrete. Luckily I have a glass screen protector or my screen would be toast! Sucks because the Sheath is the most precise case I’ve ever had. Great feel, tactile buttons, & slim profile. Unfortunately the claims of 6 foot drop protection aren’t true.

Thanks for sharing. Glad the phone is okay. I suspected this wasn’t true with the sheath. Way to thin for that. MAYBE a corner drop would be protected but even then consider me skeptical.

I have the caudabe stealth black synthesis on the way. It’s suppose to protect the phone from a 9 foot drop so we will see. I’ve also ordered the bodyguardz trainr with the “fancy” unequal tech. I’m always skeptical about how companies advertise most cases.

Yeah once I received the case, I was skeptical as well. I was already in the process of looking for another case, potentially a Mujjo or Apple leather one, but after this I may look for more “protective” offerings.

I would definitely get some kind of screen protector if you haven’t already.

I found this video a bit helpful with picking a case. He test a handful from, I believe 50 feet. That’s a bit extreme but if a case does decent from that high, I would imagine even 10 feet should be okay.

EDIT: they are for iPhone 7s but still helpful

Anker KARAPAX Touch case

It has a nice texture to it and good grip. Hugs the phone tight and doesn't as much bulk. It also has a good lip to it even with a glass protector. It is also semi-transparent. Buttons are great as well as port openings. It has a slightly raised bezel on the back for the camera. They have two colors Grey and Silver. I liked the Grey over the Silver.

$5.50 shipped for me with a code from Slickdeals

I got this yesterday and I really like it, especially with the matte finish while the apple logo on the back is still visible.

So after the Sheath debacle, I immediately went to Target to get another case. I looked at the Speck Presidio Grip (which I had for my 7 Plus), the Tech21 Evo Tactical and Evo Check. The Evo Check was too slippery, and the Presidio Grip’s buttons seem to be stiffer than last year’s version, so I went with the Evo Tactical. Which has succeeded my expectations thus far. Feels great in the hand. The pattern on the back provides extra grip, & the buttons are very responsive. The camera cutout is raised so you can lay it on the table with no worries. The coolest part about the case is it has a decent lip but it’s recessed where the home button would be, as this is the place where you swipe up with gestures. So the lip kinda slopes downward from the corners towards that spot. Which makes gestures a breeze. You can kinda see it on the pic with the bottom cutouts.

I have the Tech21 Tactical case on my 7+ and have mostly been happy with it. I’ve also got a cheap case on the way from Amazon that a friend recommended that appears to be a knock off of the Spigen Ultra Hybrid. I’ll see how I like it, the Sheath and maybe even try the new Tech21 Tactical case before I decide which way to go. I’ve been wanting to try Caudabe for years and felt like I should at least see what I think in person.

Does the front screens feels cheap with the cover?
I noticed a lot of microdots in the front (I've seen them mostly for the back).
It feels OK. Obviously it's not as good as the bare screen but it's nice and responsive!
[doublepost=1512036315][/doublepost]
I really love the look of this, but seeing a lot of bad reviews - Face ID not working, pattern effect on screen due to the dots. What are your thoughts on those issues?
Face ID worked fine for me - I guess it could be down to installation? If you haven't put the case on properly then it may cover the front sensor slightly. As for the dots on the screen - I haven't experienced that issue at all. But I've had clear cases in the past that have left a pattern effect on the back when you take the case off - in my experience you can just wipe them off with a screen cleaner or alcohol wipe.

Are there any clear cases ( and I mean crystal clear and not frosted ) that work with 3D screen protectors ?

So no one has an answer to this question ? There must be clear cases out there that work with the 3D screen protectors.

I currently have a regular glass screen protector but because it doesn’t go all the way to the edges dust and lint tends to collect there and I’m forever cleaning it. I was hoping having a full coverage 3D screen protector would avoid this.

So I'm confused....you don't like the case but your iphone is still safe and operable? Didn't the case do it's job?

Not sure if you've posted photos yet. If not, can you have a word to your people & get them to start uploadin please? :D

Sure when I get home in a few hours Ill use the Wifes 8+ to do a Caudabe Synthesis Iphone X photo shoot for you no worries at all. Mines black on the sides and frosted on the back. It has a lip to protect the screen and I have had a few accidents with it like walking into a Macys glass shelf and dropping the X. Both didnt phase the Caudabe synthesis at all and zero impact on the X. I also have the Zag HD Glass+ on the screen. Nice little setup. I float between the Synthesis and my Element case

Hold tight I promise to upload pics

Cheap Patchworks Series Level ITG case. It's a fantastic case with phenomenal power and volume buttons. Well worth the $12.95

Picked up a Ranvoo TPU from Amazon. I was motivated by the random ads on FB from Kauum TPU that looked great in renders. I saw amazon had other resellers and Prime ready. This is my favorite case for the iPhone X (I have Caudabe Crystal, veil XT, and Sheath).

The TPU feels great and the black sides make it look like they are part of the actual phone. The TPU back has a slight dot pattern that prevents watermarking.

Yeah but most cases I’ve used, & dropped several times, didn’t damage the protector. So the lip on the Sheath isn’t sufficient enough for my lifestyle I guess.

I also liked the Octane. Finally tried it on my phone in person. Couldn’t get over how big the camera cutout is. Seems like a lot of dirt could get in there easily. Can you post some pics?

Yes, my phone is still safe and operable (although I haven’t removed the glass protector to see if there was any damage underneath). My gripe is the case doesn’t work as advertised. It’s supposed to have 6 foot drop protection. I dropped mine from barely 3-4 feet. So I feel like there shouldn’t be any damage at all, or very minimal.
