Whats wrong with keychane?
It’s not cross platform and password managers are.
iCloud is just for passwords (password managers hold a lot more info. Like special network settings, and others)
So much easier to share passwords using a password manager. My wife and I have a vault for bills that we share.
I’ve been burned twice on iCloud Keychain and lost all my passwords.
I can keep track of when my credit cards expire in a password manager.
I can list all the accounts that are connected to that credit card (what is being paid on it)
And more.

1Password has my vote.

IMHO 1password also takes security more seriously than any of the others I’ve looked at. Go read their white paper describing their crypto scheme and then see if you can find anything comparable from the other password managers.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I think I will try the 30 day trail. Hopefully the importing from LastPass will work in trial version.

Enpass. It has close to all the features 1Password has, desktop version is free, iOS version is $10. No subscription. It supports many platforms including Linux. And you can sync with your own server through WebDav.

Can I ask why 1Password over Keychain? I used to use 1Password when I could buy it once, stopped because of the iOS integration with Keychain. Now that 1Password integrates so well I wonder if I should go back.

For all the reasons above!

It's cross-platform and, mostly, people like to see that their secure data is handled, well, securely.

Take a look at their site and you'll see: www.1password.com

Keychain works but it's not as flexible and if/when it doesn't work you're sort of left in the dark as to why

is there any which is free and able to store more than 20 passwords?

LastPass and Dashlane are free when you use it one a single device. If you want to sync between multiple devices then you need to subscribe ..cthey don't offer one-time purchase

Dont own a Mac, like many, so its useless on the computer. If Apple integrated it into the Windows icloud app somehow I'd for sure use it.

Can you take photos with 1password? I use mSecure to not only store my passwords, but when I make purchases (for work), I store pricing, part numbers, and pictures of the orders from my screen or invoice. I’ve used mSecure for a long time and love how it works. It also integrates with iOS 12 like 1password.

Yes, for example, I just created a secure note in 1Password and attached a picture. Not sure how that workflow compares to mSecure.

Can you sync between desktop and iOS apps and if so which iOS app or both?
How is KyPass4? It's a paid app from an individual developer. I am little skeptical purchasing apps from individual developers because from past experience they tend to abandon apps after a few months (this happened with apps from other big companies as well) and since this is a password manager app, so security is also a concern.

I use OpenSource software KeePass on my desktop/laptops and iOS devices. As iOS app you could use:
KeePass Touch (free, 0.99 dollar once to remove ads) or KyPass 4 (4,99 dollar once)
[doublepost=1538080036][/doublepost]Is it ad supported or any other catch? They offer a premium subscription with cloud storage but it doesn't seem to to be relevant for a password manager app. If the free version is with no ads and syncs with desktop and multiple devices then that would be good but I wonder if there is any catch.

This. I work in Infosec (encryption) and 1Password meets my requirements (and hasn’t been compromised as one or two others have). Also works on Windows, which is important to me as well.

I use 1Password. It the only one I’ve ever used but it works great on every device I’ve used (iPhone, iPad, Mac, Windows). I also use it without a subscription on my work phone.

You can sync from desktop/laptop to a (personal) cloud storage location where you keep your KeePass file. The same thing applies with iOS apps such as KyPass4 and KeePass Touch. You can sync from desktop and iOS app with the cloud.
I have been using KeePass Touch for 1,5 years I think and it works perfectly. I did bought the ads aways (pay once).

Just check out the KeePass site and read how it is arranged in regards to security and third party apps.

Last pass is what I use on mac and iOS devices that I own. Works really well. THe free version is very good, though I do pay the annual subscription to get additional security features and want to ensure they continue in business. They provide plenty of updates also. I was a user of 1password which is also very good. I prefer the way LastPass looks, though you need to ensure you backup properly incase you forgot your password as account retrieval can be hard. I like their security check feature and its ease of use. 1password is abit dated in its appearance but organizes things more neatly than Last pass. I am not sure how its free features are compared to 1password and the subscription model differences either. 1password has a hidden feature which I wish they would make more visible in that you can buy it outright but that involves separate purchases for mac and ios and can be costly. They both though are really good. The only concerns I have with a lot of password managers these days is it is held in the cloud and despite data encryption would have worries if hackers gained access. This happened a few years back with LastPass. So do ensure you turn on two factor authentication for whatever password manager you do use and be careful to back up your data.
