Ha.ha. I know. However since iOS 8.4 gave me really good impression about new music app, while iOS 9 provided so many impressive new functions, I decided to update, and I didn't know iPhone software could not be downgraded through update. I thought this was possible because I downgraded iPad mini software from iOS 9 to iOS 8.4.
OK. I would better charge my phone as long as I have power source. :(

But you CAN downgrade your iPhone via DFU. You just may not be able to restore your backup.

However you DO know that dfu downgrade will lose all data stored on your iPhone, while not all data stored on it is possible to do a backup. Apple does not allow iTunes to backup application data with app itself to avoid from lawsuit of content piracy, however this is the major concern when I do want to make a clean install of iOS. iCloud backup is not possible for all apps based on the same reason.

So that's the deal.

Sorry let me clarify. I meant I don't remember last time we had TWO iOS version in beta at the same time.

With two iOS versions in beta status, I imagine the development team is working overtime, especially with the huge new Apple Music app launch. So their resources might be more limited at least until 8.4 ships at the end of this month.

So I was thinking due to limited resources we might see a longer beta 1. But it's just a guess.

I think that 8.2 and 8.3 were in beta at the same time.

You can downgrade iOS 9 to iOS 8 without a problem, even if you don't put in DFU mode. Just click restore with option key pressed and choose the iPhone firmware you want to use.
The only issue is you won't be able to restore the backup.
I've tried to fiddle with the version in the backup plist file, but Messages wouldn't restore at all, meaning it probably has some incompatibilities.
Switched back to iOS 9 once again. The phone may have its issues, but it's not like it's unusable.

For anyone with an Apple Watch with watchos 2, do not downgrade! You need iOS 9 to run watchos 2, and there's no way to downgrade to watchos 1.

And sometimes it's on a Monday, sometimes a Tuesday, sometimes a Thursaday, and sometimes a Friday. In other words, we have no clue.
Right. We know what it has been like in the past, which doesn't necessarily imply anything as far as the future goes. Certainly can be used as a guide for guessing, but that's more or less it.

We need a countdown timer to 22nd!

Beta 2! Beta 2! Battery life! Battery life!
What happens if it doesn't come out on the 22nd and/or the battery life isn't really changed in the new beta?

I'm guessing 29th next beta, as 8.4 is coming on the 30th. Who knows, even though its been around two weeks the last two, I think three based on 8.4 coming.

Done this as well and can't go back to 8.4 so got a battery case from Amazon to use
Yeah, if it weren't for my Mophie I wouldn't be lasting a full day anymore. The battery drain on me is coming from Facebook, though, not the OS. Just means that I'll have to wait for a Facebook update to be optimized for iOS 9, not necessarily an OS update. Facebook is literally using 50% of my battery usage, even when it's not on screen. :/

I doubt they'd move the timeline to match the 8.4 update. I think 8.4 GM and 9 b2 drops next Monday with Apple music activated. Just to stress test and make final adjustments. Also to shed light on blogs to hype things up.

What makes you think it's Facebook? If it is, is it not just worth uninstalling the app for a few weeks and using their mob site instead?

If you can live with it, you could delete the Facebook app and use the mobile web app in Safari.

As far as I remember from previous betas the 2nd beta usually arrives about two weeks later. Is that correct? Its either that or a week, but I think a week will be a bit soon really.

Every year, every time, it's the same thing. It's here when it's here. There are no set times, there are no set dates. There are estimates and suggestions.

Yeah, not trying to rush them or anything. I just can't remember the old release cycle. They normally stick to a pretty common pattern.

Hope it comes soon. Battery life on Beta 1 isn't all that great and unfortunately I can't rollback to iOS 8 because I upgraded my Apple watch to 2.0 Beta (which doesn't work with iOS 8).
Same... Are you finding your Watch sometimes doesn't wake up when you raise your wrist - or that it's more intermittent than before?
