Already installed Beta 9, external monitor back to normal.
Anyone know if we can get MBP 2016 to have 3 external display. 3X HDMI or 2X HDMI, 1 USBC.

At the moment, I can only do 2 external display, one 4K and full HD.
Do I need a dsiplaylink hub to do that ?

So when I download (using Chrome... when I used Safari I had the same issue with the file from Mr Macintosh acting weird) I get the smaller InstallAssistant.pkg. I then run it and I get an updated Install macOS Monterey.app. When I run that, it just reinstalls Beta 8.
Is there a different step you did? Is there something I'm missing that would prevent it from installing Beta 6? It's confused the heck out of me.

Granted, I'm hopeful for a Beta 9 that fixes it today :)
I created a bootable usb drive from beta 6 and installed it from there.

as an aside, my MBP 2019 15" i9 on Monterey beta 8 w/ a Dell 2520 (via USB-C) display worked fine... until this morning. Completely stopped working, now not detected, black screen.
Semi-solution was to use a USB-C hub w/ HDMI. it's ugly, but functional.

I reset the SMC yesterday for an unrelated issue, and unsure if this bricked it.

Installing beta 9 (thank goodness)

EDIT - this is very unusual. I had to power cycle (that is, remove + replace power) my displays. I have two Dell UltraSharp 25" U2520D which have been flawless. I nearly went nuts this morning.

After power cycle? No problem.

I have a MacBook Pro 20156 Touch Bar with two DP 2560x1440 via built in TB ports and one HDMI 2560 x 1440 working via a USB C hub.

Installed Beta 9, external monitor back normal

But each time I closed the lid of my MBP, the external screen went out

Went to System Preferences ==> Battery ==> Power Adapter ==> Prevent your mac from automatically sleeping when the display is off (Still the external screen went off if i closed the lid)

Anyone have same issue?

THank YOu

beta 9 installed on both my Macs, looking good so far, external monitor included.

edit, later, found a one time problem that I couldn't replicate. Switching the ext display's input source from Display Port (MacBook) to HDMI (Mac mini) caused the MacBook internal display to go black. It happened once, worked fine after a reboot and a few more switches between sources.

Thanks brother. Look like I need 2 TB display, else will not work, I having 2 HDMI and 1 TB display only. Maybe I need to get the DisplayLink hub then?

Received notification that Beta 10 is ready, anyone has tried it

bit hesitant to upgrade just in case any issue like Beta 8

Thank you
i also think the same. but yet , the reason i do some video documentation and still not use the usb hub c to the external and using apple tv for extension. The only reason i into the beta was Xcode 13 .

I will wait for official release.

Yep, me! I uploaded and installed it this morning as soon as it was available. It fixed the only two issues I had with Beta 9. Working fine for me👍

I have twin display port 27" 2009 screens and I have now lost brightness control even though they both work fine except this.

This issue cropped up with my M1 Mac mini. With the beta 8 installed it only recognizes (1) of my monitors.
I have tried a clean install, different cable connections, and begging.
I am new to the OS ecosystem and liked Beta 7 very much.

Fingers crossed for the Beta 9 release.

That's odd . . . I had that problem with MacOS 12 beta something: so, shutt the computer down, disconnected the power cable, counted to 20 failry slowly, plugged the power cable in and started the thing up again: and, oddly enough (and don't ask me why because I don't know) everything magically (and, let's face it, it's magic) sorted itself out.
