Does anyone know how to stop BTT from bugging me about updates? Something changed in the updates several versions ago, and if I upgrade, I can no longer trigger my tip-tap gestures. I'm perfectly happy with the older version.

So I don't have any 1 Finger Tap gestures set but when I 1 finger tap it does a left click... Any ideas on how I can turn that off? I tried setting a 1 Finger Tap gesture manually to noting but that doesn't help either.

About Single Finger TipTap gestures (on the Magic Mouse), which is what I'm primarily using, but it does appear to apply to Two Finger TipTap's as well: Do both of your fingers have to be fairly close together in order for the TipTap gesture to register?

In my instance, I have set up TipTap Right to bring up Expose. I find that when I do the TipTap gesture with my hand as it naturally rests on the Magic Mouse, it rarely ever activates Expose; my index and middle finger rest about dead center on the left and right side of the mouse respectively. If however, I bring my fingers closer together--and it doesn't matter where I place my fingers horizontally, more to the left, right or in the center--then the TipTap is recognized.

Thanks to the developer for creating this. Truly indispensable program!

I find the tip tap gestures inconsistent at best. I have since did away with the Tiptap for now. I spent weeks playing with all these gestures. Ultimately I only use 2.
2 finger up and down for Spaces and Expose.

Really? I wonder if its just finger placement then? If you perform a TipTap in Live view where does your middle finger land? I noticed mine usually lands in the middle section where I thought it was going on the right of the middle. I need to tweak the settings to match middle points and try it again.

Maybe I have it set in another app and forgot to delete it?

How do you do this? I want to be able to do this for games. A lot of times I use setups where Right click brings up a scope.... So you have to hold it down and then click with the left finger to shoot. Would this work here?

There's an option for it in the preferences. I don't know if it will recognize what you're wanting to do or not (hold one down, and click as well). I kinda doubt it, but it's worth a shot.

I just wanted to be able to right click without taking my other finger off the mouse to do so.

I figure that for games I could try to do something like this...

Onefinger Right Click does right click. So then you can hold that button down.
Then Left Finger tap when still holding down the right side, so that could do the left click.

I don't know if it's possible yet with BTT, but it would really be a useful configuration for shooters.

Tip Tap doesn't work for me but double tip tap does... it's weird.

well it was working... not anymore though. jinxed!

the live preview thing picks up tip-tap every press, but the application doesnt.

the pictures below are how i hold the mouse left tip tap on the left side, right tip tap on the right side. you REALLY have to position your "middle" finger (the finger in the middle) right in the middle.

I have to disagree with you there, my Magic Mouse has had NO LAG. Not once. But then again, I don't game, so maybe Lag isn't as noticeable to me.

i have to disagree there too, i havent noticed any lag whatsoever. ill game with it tomorrow to double-check.

Oh, weird. I'm testing it right now and you're right. No lag. Interesting. I could've sworn it was lagging before. Oh well, still can't middle click on it.

Is there a way I can move the cursor around using the touch surface? This mouse would make a great couch controller for the mouse if only I could move the mouse cursor around with my thumb.

Actually there is but Im not to fond of it at the moment. You have to set up a gesture to activate (toggle) "Touchpad Mode". So for example, set a gesture you will never use to the predefined action of Touchpad mode. When you perform that gesture touchpad mode is turned on. Its a cool feature but a little herky jerky for me. Im sure the dev is working on cleaning that up.

Yeah, I noticed live gesture pics it up sometimes also, but the gesture doesnt get performed. Thats kinda the reason I decided to scrap tiptap.

Anyone using bumptop OSX 3D gestures with BTT?

OH MAN, that looks cool as hell! Im going to try that today. Ill let ya'll know if I can do anything with BTT and this.

Ok, I take it back. At first it LOOKED cool, but Im a minimalist and have nothing on my Desktop as it is. I cant imagine using this tool. I would have to completely change the way I navigate and operate my machines.

So I've got my gestures added but I'm confused about one thing...

I set up the two finger left and right swipe to continue to do next and previous in all apps but it only works for iTunes when it's running and will do so no matter which app is in focus. How do I get it to work for all apps? Do I need to remove these gestures and if I do so will the default gestures still apply?

Maybe try this instead of setting it as the predefined actions of next and previous??

I tried BetterTouchTool too and compared to MagicMouse that piece of software is really great, but I tried version 0.501 and 0.509/10 and both times the mouse did not respond to any clicks I made, be it left or right or even with a wired mouse.

Force Quitting via Activity Monitor did not help, only logging out.

I'm back to MagicMouse, which is terrible at registering pinches and two-finger swipes (up for Exposé, down for Spaces).

Has anybody encountered that problem?

A MRoogle search didn't bring up any information on this btw.

You mean the custom keyboard shortcut right? Odd that BTT disables the only 2 useful swipes in the default profile. I can't really complain tho - this is a fabulous free app! :D

I installed the beta version of the new Adobe Flash. It works a lot better than the old version but it has some funny interactions with BTT sometimes.

For the most part, I'm very happy with BTT.

Its funny you mentioned 2 finger up and down as not registering for you, those are the 2 that work the best and most consistently for me! I guess its all about how you put your fingers on the mouse.

Just installed BetterTouchTool on new 27" i7...

LOVE IT. All I needed was 3 finger click for Exposé and middle click for Dashboard back. Oh, and to double the tracking speed, I'll never understand why Apple's maximum tracking speed on the Magic Mouse is so pathetic!

These features should be available in Mac OS X as standard.
