About Single Finger TipTap gestures (on the Magic Mouse), which is what I'm primarily using, but it does appear to apply to Two Finger TipTap's as well: Do both of your fingers have to be fairly close together in order for the TipTap gesture to register?
In my instance, I have set up TipTap Right to bring up Expose. I find that when I do the TipTap gesture with my hand as it naturally rests on the Magic Mouse, it rarely ever activates Expose; my index and middle finger rest about dead center on the left and right side of the mouse respectively. If however, I bring my fingers closer together--and it doesn't matter where I place my fingers horizontally, more to the left, right or in the center--then the TipTap is recognized.
Thanks to the developer for creating this. Truly indispensable program!
I find the tip tap gestures inconsistent at best. I have since did away with the Tiptap for now. I spent weeks playing with all these gestures. Ultimately I only use 2.
2 finger up and down for Spaces and Expose.
really? i can use tip tap quite easily! next/previous on itunes are mine.

How do you do this? I want to be able to do this for games. A lot of times I use setups where Right click brings up a scope.... So you have to hold it down and then click with the left finger to shoot. Would this work here?
There's an option for it in the preferences. I don't know if it will recognize what you're wanting to do or not (hold one down, and click as well). I kinda doubt it, but it's worth a shot.
I just wanted to be able to right click without taking my other finger off the mouse to do so.
Tip Tap doesn't work for me but double tip tap does... it's weird.
Really? I wonder if its just finger placement then? If you perform a TipTap in Live view where does your middle finger land? I noticed mine usually lands in the middle section where I thought it was going on the right of the middle. I need to tweak the settings to match middle points and try it again.
Maybe I have it set in another app and forgot to delete it?
I have to disagree with you there, my Magic Mouse has had NO LAG. Not once. But then again, I don't game, so maybe Lag isn't as noticeable to me.
i have to disagree there too, i havent noticed any lag whatsoever. ill game with it tomorrow to double-check.
Oh, weird. I'm testing it right now and you're right. No lag. Interesting. I could've sworn it was lagging before. Oh well, still can't middle click on it.
Is there a way I can move the cursor around using the touch surface? This mouse would make a great couch controller for the mouse if only I could move the mouse cursor around with my thumb.
well it was working... not anymore though. jinxed!
the live preview thing picks up tip-tap every press, but the application doesnt.
the pictures below are how i hold the mouse left tip tap on the left side, right tip tap on the right side. you REALLY have to position your "middle" finger (the finger in the middle) right in the middle.![]()
Anyone using bumptop OSX 3D gestures with BTT?
So I've got my gestures added but I'm confused about one thing...
I set up the two finger left and right swipe to continue to do next and previous in all apps but it only works for iTunes when it's running and will do so no matter which app is in focus. How do I get it to work for all apps? Do I need to remove these gestures and if I do so will the default gestures still apply?
I tried BetterTouchTool too and compared to MagicMouse that piece of software is really great, but I tried version 0.501 and 0.509/10 and both times the mouse did not respond to any clicks I made, be it left or right or even with a wired mouse.
Force Quitting via Activity Monitor did not help, only logging out.
I'm back to MagicMouse, which is terrible at registering pinches and two-finger swipes (up for Exposé, down for Spaces).
Has anybody encountered that problem?
A MRoogle search didn't bring up any information on this btw.
Its funny you mentioned 2 finger up and down as not registering for you, those are the 2 that work the best and most consistently for me! I guess its all about how you put your fingers on the mouse.
Do you mean MagicPrefs or BetterTouchTool?
