as if she's the Beatles or something.

After Brat Summer? Charli XCX was robbed!
Why not Chappell Roan?
I can't say that I smell that.huh. i smell misogyny.

One type of criticism that I've heard about her album though is that it's more pop than country, and a lot of modern country music gets that same criticism nowadays and maybe for good reason idk. I don't hate it though. Music changes and evolves over time and some genres are all but dead now entirely because they couldn't keep up. Do I love classic country stars like Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson? Hell yes I do. Am I digging Beyonce's foray into country and the pop twist on the genre from the likes of Post Malone and Jelly Roll? Also yes. I can appreciate the classics while embracing what's new. It’s not my favorite (that’s her third album I am Sasha fierce) but I love it and the fact she brought attention to blsxk country music and artist which often get overshadowed. Of course she didn’t get the recognitions that she deserves from country music awards but I’m also not surprised since she doesn’t fit their box lol.
On a side note: I LOVE you avatar of the Amiga bouncing ball. Takes me back to my Jr. High days and lawn mowing to purchasing my first Amiga 1000. Good timesIs anyone really better than Phil Collins?

Do you like Mickey Guyton? She's one of my faves ever since I listened to her album Remember Her Name. I almost feel it should be required listening for every American haha.
Yes! Mama don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys ❤️It’s Waylon Jennings, or nothing! 😂
I longingly browse r/Amiga. But I am sadly Amigaless. Such good times though. Imagine if Commodore hadn’t buggered it all up and I was typing this on my Amiga phone. On a side note: I LOVE you avatar of the Amiga bouncing ball. So which chips are on the wafer?
Per your comment, I listened to the Beyonce country album more in depth and did not come to the same conclusion. I felt that outside of a couple tracks it lacked not only a country essence, but it failed to even bridge what she is known for and country and fuse those together. I was really disappointed.I love Billie I do but this last album wasn’t it and I feel like there are others on this list who could have had this award.
Beyoncé for example released a country album reminding and educating ppl on the fact that country music originated in black culture and took it back.
It definitely encapsulates a lot of black roots in country music (hence why she had popular country artist who were black or heavily inspired by black artists on the album).Per your comment, I listened to the Beyonce country album more in depth and did not come to the same conclusion. That's so true. I would never seek out Christian music solely because of its content, but I'll listen to anything that bops no matter what genre it is.There’s only a few songs id say are pop country. That would be Texas hold em, tyrant and levii jeans (spaghetti and sweet honey buckin are more trap country).
Alligator tears, 16 carriages, protector, bodyguard, daughter and especially American requiem are definitely more country than anything.
I prefer the country pop sound as it is more palatable and it can reach a bigger audience. It’s like Christian pop. I’ll never listen to a hymn but I would definitely jam to a poppy sounding Christian track.
And no haven’t heard of Mickey but I’ll definitely give them a listen.
I listened to it. The album has roots in Beyonce. Not some cultural black roots country music. That's a stretch and a fallacy. I would argue she made a pop album she wanted to, sprinkled in some bits here and there and called it black country. IMHO. We can agree to disagree. It definitely encapsulates a lot of black roots in country music (hence why she had popular country artist who were black or heavily inspired by black artists on the album).
I think once you look at the actual history of country music and its origins and not the try to base it off what is considered country today you can see the vision.
That’s not roots of Beyoncé. Clearly you have not listened to her discography. Roots of Beyoncé would be lemonade.I listened to it. The album has roots in Beyonce. I miss my Amiga days, but in Commodore's defense it almost felt like the Amiga brand was cursed... Escom and Gateway 2000 both seemed to implode after each acquired the brand. I was really hoping Gateway 2000 would do some big, cow-spotted marketing with the Amiga tech, but then there was nothing. 🐮I longingly browse r/Amiga. But I am sadly Amigaless. Such good times though. Imagine if Commodore hadn’t buggered it all up and I was typing this on my Amiga phone.
That was one of the funniest things I read today. Thank you. That’s not roots of Beyoncé. Clearly you have not listened to her discography. Roots of Beyoncé would be lemonade.
Just like renaissance brought attention to the house genre of queer music (the same genre ppl are now trying to steal). Renaissance was groundbreaking and this is coking from someone who didn’t like renaissance from Beyoncé.
Cowboy Carter brings back the roots of BLACK influence in country music and I appreciate it. There’s nothing to agree or disagree on. There’s simply facts. Learn your history. You can’t rewrite history just because you think it’s wrong lol.
And that’s all that needs to be said.
Y’all will be okay knowing country music has black origins and roots.
likewise. I enjoy blatant disregard ppl have for facts instead of actually doing the research and educating themselves. It’s amusing. It’s like an echo chamber. You tell them facts or where to find the facts and they somehow keep shouting (like you’re doing) falseties and only hearing themselves. That was one of the funniest things I read today. Thank you.
Just the facts man. Of course everything is opinion. Yo off yo rocker. Enjoy the asylum.
Amusing and sad. More sad than amusing this time. Enjoy your stupor.likewise. I enjoy blatant disregard ppl have for facts instead of actually doing the research and educating themselves. Anyway, I’ve made my point multiple times and I am not going back and forth. It’s thanksgiving. I plan to be drunk and full. Not arguing about Apple Music or anything related to pop.
Thanks for the laughs. Ciao.
It was a fantastic holiday. And we played beyonces country album and the world kept spinning.Amusing and sad. More sad than amusing this time. Enjoy your stupor.
The “Phil Collins Presents Apple Music’s Artist of the Year” award. Is anyone really better than Phil Collins?
I most agree on that, especially the diss track battle against Drake and the recent new album GNX.Also, it’s 100% Kendrick’s year.
