you don't think so ? Wow that's not good as the passport hardly set the world alight unfortunetly.

I think it will sell ok to current BB users wanting to upgrade and not wanting to step outside of BB's playground completely.

But at it's current price - I think it's a massively hard upsell for anyone else. Likewise if carriers don't carry it subsidised it will really struggle gaining traction.
Blackberry is barely shipping 3 million units a YEAR at this point. Only people buying them are the old corporate dogs and those still stuck in 2005 in SE Asia. BB's ship has sailed. They are already discussing dropping mobile completely and moving to all enterprise. The second they drop mobile, watch their stock rise. (They should have done it 2 years ago, to stop hemorraging money.)

I think the coolest feature of the phone that everyone's seeming to be missing is that the keyboard is also touch-enabled -- you can move your finger over the keys to scroll, etc.

This! Probably the best physical feature since Blackberry's awesome keyboard. It worked great on the Blackberry Passport during the short time I used it. Why Apple and Microsoft haven't figured out away to use that type of technology on the Surface Pro keyboard or Apple's IPad Pro keyboard is a shame. It would be a great feature.

Agree its a pretty neat feature.
On an unrelated note. I like the location in your profile :) I started reading those Covenant books a looong time ago.

Yeah way too steep. Fortunately Blackberry phones don't sale well anymore. A price drop will happen sooner than later.

I'll wait to see how the build quality is, sliders make me nervous. Plus I bet there'll be a price drop in a few months. I love Blackberry keyboards and BBOS 10 is really nice, but it'd be cool to have Google Play support the few times I need it.

I plan to pick up one in a few months. Don't worry, the price will drop (maybe not officially). I'll wait for an eBay deal for around $550 or so. I'd never pay full retail for any phone. Heck, you can pick up a brand new 6S on Swappa for under $600.

You realize its an android phone and not BB10? I will probably pick one up for my work phone once the price drops a bit.

Yup, they're some cool features. This looks like such a good device. Part of me regrets going for the 6S and wishes I'd kept the money to go towards a BB Priv instead!
But then I always end up coming back to iPhone so it's inevitable that it will probably happen again.
I'm not even one of these people who own 2 devices. I mean, I don't want 2 phone numbers so how will that even work? I'd lie to own a second device like this, but it just doesn't makes sense to have 2 personal mobile devices.

Perhaps I need to get a job that requires a second handset... Ha

But yeah, the device itself looks really good. I'd love to read some reviews of it. It has my interest and I'd like it see how it fares against other devices on the market.
The user experience of BB10 was always great in my opinion, so it'll be cool to see what these reviewers have to say now there's an Android flavouring thrown in!

You can long-press a key on the keyboard to open an app? That's great, as simple-minded as that may be!

You can have it launch an app, call contact or do a task such as create new note, message, post on FB, turn on torch, etc
