im sorry im such a mac noobie...can u give me some steps to do that?

Just install Boot Camp in OS X, run the Utility (it is found in Applications, Utilities folder) and use Boot Camp to burn a new disc.

Alternatively, you can right click on the Boot Camp Assistant in the Finder and click show package contents. In the contents folder, you can find the .dmg file, double click to mount the image and then copy those files to a FAT32 disc.

I don't see anything about external HD support. I'm pretty sure it's just internal.
The any internal HD stuff is for the Mac Pros where you can install multiple internals....

any word on mac pro SATA performance yet? That would be the big thing to fix, in my mind (and I don't even have, nor will be getting, a mac pro!).

No solution to the MacPro/SATA performance problem from this update. I reinstalled evething on my MP 3,0/X1900/3 500Gb Hds/3Gb RAM and my drive was PIO again :-(

I hope that you don't mean that you had previously fixed the SATA problem (by slipstreaming the SATA and chipset drivers) and then when you installed BootCamp 1.1.1 your drives reverted back to PIO mode.

Is that correct?

If so, that would be a real problem for this version of BootCamp.

bluetooth/wireless keyboard and mouse support

Am I the only one he has installed the update to find that the both my wireless mightymouse and wireless keyboard no longer work seemlessly in XP? With 1.1 it was as it should be, seemless and no hassle. Now I no longer can use XP because all I have is my wireless setup... Oh, this ticks me off. 1.1 worked perfectly why can't 1.1.1 do the same? Please tell me I'm not the only one with this problem?

I am not sure how it worked in 1.1 as I first installed Windows with 1.1.1. However, in 1.1.1, when booting Windows, it takes a few seconds at the login screen for Windows to recognize my BT Mighty Mouse and once in Windows, my keyboard is not recognized until I turn it off and back on. This is on a 20" iMac C2D with the wireless package.

Not true =)

Edit: just read the actual article properly... only really works with a Macbook as you have to remove the HD.
It's been done for other machines as well, I just based the guide on the Macbook since it's the easiest one to get working as removing the drive is easy.

In any case it's not officially supported, just like many other things that work (MCE, Vista, upgrade discs...), but are not recommended for the inexperienced.

I updated to the BootCamp 1.1.1 Macintosh driver disk and there was no problem with the hard drives after updating. They still work in DMA mode...

it's a pain.

I feel like the only person in the world who's having major problems with bootcamp - mainly, that it won't work at all :(. I just got a 15" Macbook Pro about a week ago, and right out of the box, after downloading the latest updates, I tried running bootcamp, to limited success. It partitioned correctly and everything, and ran fine up to when i put the windows xp (sp2 included) in and restarted. However, it was here that I kept encountering errors (I tried at least a dozen times, re-partitioning each time). Sometimes, about 2 minutes into starting the Windows setup, it would say like "blah blah file was corrupt, setup could not continue" (the name of the file changed every time). Other times it would start actually installing Windows, but sometimes the cd would just pop out, and i would have to put it back in and continue installation, which worked only occasionally. One time, I thought it installed everything, but it skipped the 'install Windows Programs' step, and I found I lacked internet explorer, a lot of the windows graphics (my start menu was all messed up), and all those programs that come with Windows. Since the Apple store refuses to help, can someone PLEASE give me some tips to get this working? I'm gettin fed up with dealing with this whole deal...

Sounds like your CD is damaged. I would suggest trying a good known working disc and see if your luck changes. The problems you are having are not Apple/BootCamp related.

Vista RC1 Works beautifully!

Vista now installs without modifying Apple's drive structure! Unfortunately, the XP driver disc won't install directly. It can be done, but with a lot of effort. The easiest solution is to install XP first on at least a 14GB NT partition, install Apple's drivers and then use Vista's Upgrade option. I suggest removing the ATI drivers first and after the install, go to ATI's website and download/install the Vista driver. The audio drivers may have some problems, but easily correctable. Also, the Startup Disk control panel will no longer work. Use the "X" or "Option" startup mode to get back to OS X.

Can you be a bit more specific as to what you situation is rather than what it is not. I couldn't figure out where you are in the process.

I'm running XP Home with bootcamp and it works a treat on my 17'' MBP with 1gB of ram...I was thinking of trying Vista RC1 as an upgrade over XP as you have done...can you tell me if the Vista Aero engine runs with 1gB of ram?
Also do I need to download and install new video drivers?
How about audio?...the MS utility that checks compatibility found no problems other than the audio...stating that the HD audio would need a new driver...can you provide a link to a suitable driver?
Many thanks.

Vista Drivers

The XP drivers disk that you make from bootcamp will definitely work with a clean install of Vista RC1.

After you have installed Vista just run the disk as you did with XP and it will creat a Macintosh drivers folder and begin the install routines. You will also need to download and install the Intel 5000X Chipset Utiility.

There is no need to upgrade from XP to Vista. Vistas' installation went very smooth on my Mac Pro.

The Mac Pro 9/19 Firmware update fixed the SATA performance problem in XP.

Sounds like a bad CD or bad DVD drive.

Can you make a copy of the CD and burn it at as slow a speed as possible? Has this CD worked on other PCs?
